http://www.nytimes.com/2006....f=login (account mattedialog/asdfghjk works at the time of writing) According to a recent secret pentagon study more than 80% of marines that died of upper body wounds might have survived it with proper body armor. Of course this does'nt mean they could have kept on going but still.. As an another example, the robbers in the north hollywood shootout were wearing kevlar (practically covered in it) and kept on going despite both robbers being hit over ten times with pistol rounds fired by the officers on scene. On the other hand, they barely hit anything and were probably high on something.

I know better than to trust newspapers when it comes to stuff like this.

Ah, the joys of FDF, no need for any specific OPFOR equipment in order to be realistic. Just remove the finnish insignia off your own stuff..

It allows emulating a virtual LAN over the internet. http://www.ag.ru/files/software/202/5437

Putting that password there was just plain asking for it. Anyways, I dont see the benefit in having a passworded addon as it can be passed around like a dirty needle or even bruteforced if it's weak enough.

Something like this?

Mercenary as a word does not imply anything negative by default, the mercenaries themselves are to blame for that if you feel it does. Well, maybe they in fact are mercenaries of sort. The word mercenary does not imply the nature of it's task. The fact that you operate in a military manner wielding military grade weapons and getting paid by a foreign army makes you mercenaries. No disagreement here, it just takes a bunch of young amateurs to ruin everyone's reputation and it's always easier to blame contractors than risk "blaming the troops" (especially in the US apparently).

Or use the single voice sound option.

Personally I love the recoils, makes PvP a lot more exciting yet does not take away skill like some other dispersion-based methods.

http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/transport/article334686.ece Is it just me but why is britain always the first country to do this sort of stuff?

Now why would anyone say that the almighty banana would be useless?

They would not be losing much if this ban would only apply to music produced from now on.. Seems that Mahmoud does have something common with hardliner israelis afterall: http://english.aljazeera.net/NR....C6B.htm

Neither do I, but the government doesn't get the data. It's the phone companies that have it. The only way that the government can legally get it is by obtaining a court order for each individual case. And the rules for obtaining an order are generally constitutionally regulated - i.e. there has to a justifiable suspicion of a crime - just like when obtaining a search warrant. The goverment created the requirement in the first place. They sure as hell can lift it at whim seeing how little real resistance this law generated. If one wants to see how willing ISPs are to help goverments commit human rights violation just look at China.. now imagine when their home countries starts demanding same things.
-
Law or no law... The government would have kept that data either way.. I doubt it. Getting all that info without getting caught on that scale is damn near impossible.
-
And your point is...? Nice little crawlers can examine the records and mark "suspicious" networks of people phoning/emailing/smsing each other... No, that would be illegal. The only time that they would be allowed to look at a record is if they had a court order. This law only states that the phone companies must keep the records, it does not mean that law enforcement gets full access to them. That's why this isn't a privacy or civil liberties problem. It doesn't infringe on your right to privacy in any way. The fact that those records are kept violates our civil rights. I dont trust our goverment(s) with that kind of data.

On the top of my head, i remember the time was half years... Actually it's two years but the member states can implement less if they like. If im not mistaken keeping this sort of information would have landed the operator in deep trouble up here but now they will have to do the same thing if they don't want to get in trouble, oh well..

It's not like this is getting ignored, I have seen this mentioned on HRW and BBC quite some time ago. Even the EU enlargement commisioner told that he was seriously concerned about this.

Arr, the FDF 1.4 is an update package, you should NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INSTALL IT IN A SEPARATE FOLDER.

It has said so since 1.2, figure the math.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hits a new low: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4529198.stm

The configs are different so they are probably horribly unbalanced anyway.

The word liberal is used to denote strong supporters of free market capitalism and invidual liberties everywhere but in the US you know..

The problem is not that racist public speech is not harmless. The problem is that legislation banning it does no good especially now that we have this wonderful thing called the internet. Because of this kind of legislation some public forums are afraid to allow even semi-legimate discussion about some issues while spending less than a minute googling will find me a ton of these festering racist shitholes where one can express anything they like with even more likeminded people.
