    they are possible, but for little gain, and a complicated install, if the total conversions added something new to the engine then it would be justified but sticking your logo on the ofp menu screens doesnt justify the extra download or the complicated install

Operation Gulf War Crisis Site is down currently 07/03/03 (thanks to bloody host....grrrrr), but will be up again ASAP.<span id='postcolor'> A 'total conversion' for ofp is not a good idea, before you even start counting the addons you would need to include a modified: Data3D, Data and Sound pbo, thats 150mb without counting islands, or campaigns (resistance campign is 63mb), not only that but theres the complicated install, and all this just to change the opening menu and where the units are in the editor, with an addon you dont need to do any of this, you just put them in say, 'Men (Desert)' or the equivalent for the other classes and use any missions from there, in this sense the nam pack is a total conversion, you can have missions where you dont need to use a single unit from the normal ofp, and its only a 48mb download, id like to see any 'proper' TC mod top that download size and better the content significantly, the only advantages i can see from a TC mod are that you get new snazzy menus and units in 'Men' instead of 'Men (Desert)', and the OPGWC 'little' demo was 310mb

    .50AE is not .50BMG, the AE is a pistol round (albeit a bloody huge one) it still doesnt compare to the 12.7x99mm .50BMG (a la M82A1 or M2 HMG), from what ive heard something like a 50BMG in an assault rifle would have a hell of a lot of recoil

    i think you should make a resistance side one, its a small and (relatively) cheap IFV, and if you do could you see if you could get it to match the colourscheme on the Lavos MT-LB's, then we would have not only the APC's and AA APCs but also an IFV, also if you are looking for ideas as to what to do next, an infantry helo would be good, something like a KA-60 Kasatka would keep in line with the russian weaponry, or a KA-52, or the latest russian tank (T-95 i think although probably not any 3 views for it), im sure the community would be very glad if we had some modern russian addons to go against the plethora of western addons, anyway, fantastic addon, and you have unbelievable texturing skills!!

    the large majority of them are unsuitable, they dont have LODs or they have too many polygons, or just dont work right in ofp (as the normals may get messed up on import), its a lot easier to make it yourself...

    this addon is not the normal sniper rifle found in cs, the awp is a 7.62 (and varius other calibers, .338 etc) rifle, the AW50 (what the model is) is a 50 caliber rifle edit: rap, it doesnt look like a reskin to me, looks like a brand new model

    ok, just talked with our guy on the inside, and the 75th regiment (one of the ranger regiments) has adopted the reflex sight, so they are standard issue on all M4's and are also fitted to M249's occasionally

    well, the thing is....i believe (from talking to some real life army guys at bas) they wouldnt use just an m4 + M203 if they had the chance, otherwise we just would have made an M4 + M203, depending on different situations they would use a variety of scopes/silencers/lasers/vertical grips/SOPMOD/M203/Masterkey attachments, as i said to make a realistic ranger/delta pack we need these weapons, and they are all in one pbo, and future weapons will go in this pbo so mission makers wont have to hunt out .pbo's

As i said earlier, the flaming neednt have happened, none of the bas members were posting on this thread until jahves comment, and the TOW members went onto a BAS news thread and took an innocent (true) comment and started flame baiting, i shouldnt have replied and started arguing, but i was angry at them for degrading our addons and posting pointless comments.
