Without some rivalry addons would be so good as they are (hm, maybe some of them). And one more- comparing of both weapons could has some influence on addonmakers and force them to publish new, better versions of their work. Eviscerator, do you think that all parts of addon would be as good as possible, or do you think that all parts make addon and precision in modeling or configuration of it is not so important when there are many new weapons/soldiers?<span id='postcolor'> I think that the addon should be as good as possible in the time constraints, our M24 is perfectly adequate for our addon, i have seen no complaints and have actually seen many praises for it, making the Delta/Ranger pack took about 4 or so months, the author making this M24 has taken a month, and has not finished, if we went into the same detail with each weapon it would've taken us a couple of years to finish the addon!

I will make a second version that is more realistic as I do not wish to change the big wheels and other fun stuff with it. I'll finish this model off first and the ultra-realism version will be available shortly after. As far as the machine gun goes who made the DShK 12.7mm so I can ask permission to use it? I will have to mount the MG different so it swings on a smaller area, then make the proxy guy stand up. I can't widen the tray.<span id='postcolor'> The DShK was modelled by me and textured by ebud, however i believe only SelectThis has the final model in MLOD, so you'd have to email him ( [email protected] )

    Operation flashpoint 2

I'm not really sure how the Korean War would be much better...It was (mainly) Americans, who eventually 'lose' no matter how excellently you fight... OFP suits Vietnam, the helicopters used there are one of the things ofp does best, there are not many huge battles with thousands of troops among thousands of houses meaning the game would be much easier on the system, also OFP is not good with CQB which dominates modern conflicts, go much earlier in time than the vietnam war and its going to be too much walking, which can really get boring in ofp, go too far forward from vietnam and you have easily winnable situations, and, Vietnam is the new WW2 in the games industry, so why not cash in on it?

    M24 sniper weapon system

Why do you feel the need to compete with us? There are vast differences between the situations, we were making an addon pack, with lots and lots of weapons and soldiers, so diverting so much attention to just one weapon was not possible, if we were just making an M24 addon you would probably have a much harder time pointing out the flaws in our addons, so please, stop comparing it to our M24.

If you don't belive me, go to DKM-mods website (I can't remember offhand at the moment) and search the january archives. They should have a download for a addon which adds the effect to all BIS choppers. Its actually what im using currently. I don't however know how in the hell they made the addon, however-which is why i'm asking if a smart fellow from BAS (or anyone with bas's permission) could make the same with their downwash effect.<span id='postcolor'> DKM didnt add them to the official choppers, they made new versions with the script added, by 'new' i mean they arent the helicopters used in, say, the campaigns.

OFP never gets much attention on their demo CD's so adding something like, say, the Nam Pack, BAS work, Kegetys work and all the other great addon makers work, we may be able to give the ofp community not able to access forums/news sites something to play with, because if a million people bought the game (and 200,000 bought res) there are a lot missing out on all the addons which greatly increase the gameplay, may just give the ofp community the boost it needs

Ah, just checked GlobalSecurity.org and it seems the 25mm version has 200rpm, i cant see the 30mm version being too much more...

    Current conflict usmc

Or, you could always make bullest vest clad terrorists to be adversaries a la OPFOR in Americas Army, as fighting the Ruskies with modern addons doesnt really make much sense any more...
  17. .....If this is meant to be a 'Technical' then the Kord is a very bad machinegun to choose, its the newest Russian heavy machine gun, being a new russian gun, its not very widespread being mainly the T-90's AA gun and seeing limited infantry use, something better would be either the NSV(introduced in 1960) or DShK(introduced in 1933 I believe)

And that must be a problem at your end, as everyone else seems to have found them, what version of ofp are you using? And to anyone else having problems, because of the large amount of scripts added and the features of those scripts only being added in the last few patches you will probably need 1.90 or 1.91 for the Kiowa's.

    Bas kiowawarriors released!

Yes, all of our helos are getting scripts like these added to them, as deadmeat explained earlier we are slowly changing the classnames in the editor, because if we kept it as it was you would have had: BAS - Special Ops Men BAS - Special Ops Vehicles BAS - US Army Vehicles BAS - Marine Corp Vehicles Which seemed a little excessive, so over the course of the updates of our addons they will move into either: BAS - Men BAS - Vehicles They will also be given a plethora of new scripts, its really amazing what TJ is doing on some of the helicopters you havent seen in a while, you may be wanting the MH-60L soon but we felt modifying the BIS helo was not good enough (as it is...well...an ugly model), so there has been an overhaul, and believe me, it looks fantastic, you should probably expect the MH-47E next and it is very very different from the last version, maybe not in cosmetics but in scripts it is amazingly realistic. The OH-58 was a relatively minor project that we felt the public needed, it may not give the 'OH MY GOD' factor of previous addons, but as i said it was a little side project that we felt people wanted and we feel its turned out very well. Also a hint for you guys just finding out what happens when you stand in the dust as a Delta/Ranger, try lowering your goggles Finally they have a use
