  1. I've done quite some googling and I keep coming out empty handed. I am a complete scripting nublet. I have an insurgent mission with most of us as OPFOR, and 2 player controlled civilians. Right now, the civilians can just waltz right up to an enemy base, plant an IED and just waltz out of there. What I would like to do, is attach a trigger to the player controlled civilians, so that when they get 50 to 100 meters from Bluefor, they turn hostile. That would prevent the game breaking part of them waltzing up and barfing IED's all over their base. How would I go about doing this? Also, would the trigger reattach to them after re-spawn?
  2. Hello everyone! I am having an issue with a mission I crated to utilizing Ace Mod, like some others I have made. However this time, the ACE Self Interaction menu simply does not work and myself and some of my ArmA Guru buddies are completely stumped. The Mission requires "ace, acex, acex_ru, acex_usnavy, acre" and is on the "clafghan" map. I have no idea what caused the Ace self interaction menu to break and if anyone might have any ideas I would love to hear them. I was hoping to use this mission for a squad night between reddit.com/r/hoggit and /r/projectawesome soon as we greatly enjoy pwning the AI nubs. Mission here
  3. Ah HAH! Kylania! Thank you for the lead on the "ace_sys_interaction" my friend graciously, tested taking that line out and trying it. It did not work when he loaded back into the editor, for it would put the line back in.... But when he exited, took the line of code out, then PBO'd it strait away, and then loaded the PBO.... it WORKED! So quite an interesting issue..... from now on when i edit things, the final copy will have to have that line of code taken out before I PBO it i guess... thanks for the help everyone! I will still be investigating as to why the "ace_sys_interaction" bug happened in the first place, but at least the mission is working now. :)
  4. Thanks, I will remove that ace_sys_interaction, I have no idea how that got in there. About the bug report, similar, however i have not changed the keys that the self interaction menu uses.... I will look into it more.... more about the "ace_sys_interaction" a friend of mine just tried to take it out (bless his heart as I am at work) and when he saved it, it was added again? LOL this issue is going to cause me to go insane I fear. :)

  6. Thank you for your reply Kylania. I will make sure Ace clippi is running. I for sure have set it up and have played many a missions before this issue. However there also is the issue of where we test out a mission we know works (the self interaction menu), but then we load this one without closing the game it is broken! also I have sent this mission to others, and it breaks on them as well....
  7. another big problem..... there is some kind of LOD bug with all the vehicles.... i usually have my view distance high like 3500 meters and after 250 meters or more vehicles disappear!?!?!?!?!?!? may be around 300 meters but when i hold down right click and zoom in they will re appear untill around 500 meters. :(
  8. Ground textures flicker at night looking through NVG's thats awesome! cant see a thing and it just flickers. OH yea!!! also..... leaves on trees and bushes apparently are made of bullet proof material. and bullets of course can not pass through paper thin leaves. i can see a guy right behind a bush and half his body is sticking out and i'll unload a clip accurately on him and it just does a "Bullet hitting a leaf" effect and wont hit him behind the bush. thats cool as well!

  12. plenty of people have already reported that in this same topic. its amazing what the "Previous page" Button does. But yes AI driving has improved immensely.
  13. pretty much the same.... the patch was for some bugs and campaign fixes. lol anyone figure out how to get the screen door graphics artifact to go away? yes i have tried making my .cfg file non read only by reading through this thread

    hmmm. so most missions in multiplayer not using this complex script? because the healing in all multiplayer servers are just like ArmA 1 :confused:
  15. Hey ya'll.... loving the 1.02 patch already but i have a slight problem. i have scowered this topic and saw that a few others have it and there was a possible fix but it did not work for me... My problem is with FSAA turned on in the .cfg file and making sure that "Read Only" is unchecked. then by going into the game and turning shadows to disabled since they wont be used anyway......... i get graphic artifacts that look like my whole screen is a screen door........ :( i made sure the .cfg file is non read only. anyone have a clue? i'm at work now but i can post a screenshot when i get home.
  16. I have an ATI 3870 ICQ3 and i will try using very high..... High does not work but i only have 512MB of video memory on the card. so we'll see.

    one thing my squad did to evolution in ArmA 1 was. we disabled the score and made you the highest rank after just one kill. and to be honest it was a whole different mind set when you were not able to see your score by hitting the "I" key. because it was dissabled and you were already the highest rank after your one kill i quickly found out that our squad was working together much easier and not running off after that lone squad for an easy few points. so EVO will work, just take out the score and BS ranks :) and also randomize the towns. that way its always different...... EVO got so old in ArmA one because it was ALWAYS Parasio then Somato then Cayo bla bla bla blaaaa ZzzzzzzzzzZzzzzzzzz

    I mean going back to ArmA 1 with AA the vegetation you can actually make out the leaves at distance and now they just look like blobs of green until you get like 5 meters away. really annoyed.... i'm going to shut up about it now :p the game right now looks absolutely incredibly beautiful and with FSAA it would take it up many more notches :bounce3:

    the tracker will NOT load for me and i wanted to say that the leaf sight on the M4's and M16' acog varients the M203 sight is stuck UP! bug? this was like that in ArmA 1 after a few patches it was broken and now its always up. i'll keep trying the tracker. tried 3 times so far but i'll try more.

    i'm not sure that if this has been brought up before but for some reason when i join a server lets say an Evo server and there is plenty of slots to choose from and i play for a bit and then leave..... well when i come back there is only like 12 slots left and they have all been taken..... its like when i left the slot i was in vanished along with all the other people that joined and left.

    Oh for the love of PETE!!! what happened to AA? what is this Fillrate bogusness that requires 500 of the best machines in the world to run???? please bring back AA for the little guys! I cant STAND these Jaggies and the creator of the fillrate needs to be slapped :P
