  1. Slightly small issue with installation of this patch. Before installation, I had the original English (That's English) version of ArmA 2 which came on the CD (Only recently re-installed, it has been off my system for quite some time). After installation, I started up the game and was introduced to a screen in a totally different language that I, in my culturally blind stupor, am unable to identify (It uses a lot of 'z's, that's all I can remember). I am using Spirited Machine's game launcher with the ACE2 Core and CBA add-ons, both were added after installing the 1.09 patch. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Edit: Well, this is embarrassing. Problem likely figured out a few minutes after initial posting. Will keep this updated if my attempted solution does not work.
  2. Key word is 'possibly'. It has absolutely massive amounts of potential, it is already the most realistic war simulator out there, one of the best editors I've ever seen in a game, incredibly realistic graphics. But there's one big thing its lacking: story. There is immense untapped potential here for some of the most expansive, immersive, suspenseful stories you could ever come up with, stories that could literally go anywhere. That is this game's only problem, it could be resolved eventually, with a lot of work on the developer's part. If it wasn't for that, it probably would be a perfect game.
  3. Ohh, that must be the problem. Mine is just the original version. Thanks :D
  4. Ok, I've searched the Stickies on Modules and Scripting, but I haven't found an answer to my problem. My problem is: The Modules option doesn't show up. On the right hand toolbox there are options for everything (Units, Groups, Triggers, Scripts, etc.) except the Modules, I've tried pressing F7 but that doesn't work either. I've tried placing units and I've been able to place a GameLogic Module, but after Previewing I've found it does nothing. I'm sure there's a relatively simple solution to this, I'm just missing it. Thanks in advance.

    OFP Vs Arma SP Campaign

CM made (and sold) the Red Hammer campaign... BIS made the resistance expantion.. If they didnt focus on a SP campaign this time its problably because time and resources had to be put on more important things, the engine . Your statements lack credibility since you claim Arma has not much better graphics compared to OPF... Hmm..I probably was a bit hasty there, but still, my computer has to play on the lowest graphics setting, so it is a bit of a letdown (PC World+Dell Computers=A Bad Day)
  6. Yet another noob question by me! I know it is possible because of the Sniper auxiliary mission when the allied Officer plants a mine to stop the convoy so you can take them out, so how do you do that, so far I've narrowed it down to a waypoint, an Especas Saboteur (just call him character X) and the moving convoy, this is an intro, and I want the HUMMV(call this Vehicle X) at the front of the convoy to be destroyed and when that happens the intro ends and you are thrown into the thick of the action, so how do you do it?

    Hostages

    Thanks, worked like a charm
  8. I need a scene where a man starts out as a hostage, he is lead to a firing squad, and the hostage condition is set to off with the help of a trigger, and the now doomed man is shot. How do I do it (this sequence consists of a group of soldiers leading him to the position with a move waypoint)

    GUYS HELP PLEASE

I find this question quite hard to answer, but I'll try to give as much info as possible. You'll be needing to give your man who pops the smoke a "Flaregreen", the code can be found in a sticky at the top of the page, then you will need a waypoint for the copter, sync'ed with the whatever* that tells your man to throw smoke down at that position, then you'll want your standard transport load or get on waypoints, then order the copter to move wherever you want *I don't know specifically what you need for this, another more experienced editor will probably tell you

    OFP Vs Arma SP Campaign

I believe this thread is absolutely right, the Cold War Crisis was much better than this bag of **** that Bohemia has presented us with, but I would like to point out one HUGE difference between ArmA and OF:CWC, Bohemia worked with Codemasters, yes you heard me, Codemasters, on CWC but they were without their help on this one, if I had one thing to say, this is nothing but a resurrected OF with a bad storyline and better (not by much however) graphics.
  11. Are there any, I have heard some people mention them, if they do exist, where are they? Sorry for the noob question

    Noob Problem

Thanks guys, I solved the problem, Scillion was right after all. Well I'm tired.
  13. Hi, I'm new to the forums and have a problem with mission editor Problem: I am using a trigger synced with a waypoint to tell an(BLUFOR) infantry squad to move when Radio Alpha(the trigger) is activated by a non-squad member(sniper, BLUFOR). My problem is that I don't call Radio Alpha but the squad move anyway, I know I must have done something wrong or missed something and I was hoping someone could point it out to me
