  1. Oh, this is sooo nice. :cc: Huge thanks to BIS and all who participated. Game on! Merry Christmas And Happy New Year!
  2. Had a similar issue with new 11.11 drivers, flickering, picture shattering to black vectors... Rolled back to 10.9 with zero results. After that, removed all ati drivers and control center. Installed again 11.11. Works. Sapphire HD 4890 vaporX 1GB GDDR5 6 gigs 1333 memory AMD Phenom X II 3.2 GHz Win 7 64 bit
  3. Yoma, do we have any chance to get this "update" released to all of us?
  4. I voted no. I voted no to steam because that ton of c** that comes with it, but i'm not against DLC. I would much rather see shortest way possible between gamer and BIS. Just like i like to buy my music straight from the band from their site even it's a hardcopy or mp3. Atleast then i have a feeling that my money went to the right people. Hardcopys are expensive for BIS, agreed, but does it have to be? My opinion is that the engineer that invented this supersized, always broken when bought dvd casing, should be hanged to a tree from his balls and whipped to death. I personally don't need 100 pages of leaflets, maps and stuff, it's easily downloaded or read from a website. It's enough if i have the data on cd or dvd if i want. (I have atleast 20 cd's or dvd's packed in simple cardboard envelope and they have worked just fine for years now...) Br Snow OFP, OFP Res, Arma, QG, ArmaII and OA as hardcopys, BAF and PMC via sprocket.
  5. Hi, I downloaded BAF from Sprocket on the first days it got out. Of course installed it right away and have played it since. Today F-Secure suddenly gave notice that it has found a adware (Adware:W32/Adweb.A) in BAFsetup.exe which it failed to isolate into virus vault. I tried to check if the exe file is still working, but could not locate the file anymore (not from virus vault or other F-Secure files either) so it's been deleted. This is a "false" ;) alarm i think but is possible to cause troubles for you also in the future, so take note from this and backup your .exe. Now. And keep order confimation in safe place. Now i must find out if i can recover my setup from Sprocket? ( where's that e-mail?...) Br, Snow

    BAF / F-Secure adware alert

Hi, Thanks for reply. Things got a little tricky. Because the isolation failed and the vault is empty i can't recover the file or grant pass from the F-Secure. It also denies my download because it sees this "adware" in the download. Edit: nvm.... New virus definition files fixed the issue...

    Bazerk Kozlovka 2.0

Berzerk maps should run on vanilla Arma... at least was running when i last played them... It might be high ping so check on server provider / squad webpages for any info for possible limits. Another, might be outdated Battleye, try manually update from website. Then there are those before mentioned firewall settings worth to go thru. Snow
  8. This program is getting better and better.... great work man :ok: Lowest priority feature request: How about some bling on to it... like military green?
  9. Last version? .. is it 1.18? Should run fine... but if lower then it's most likely memory issue wll known.. here's the remedy for that... try it: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=84497&highlight=msconfig+limit+memory Tons of threads here about this and soundcard hickups..... Snow
  10. Hi, Is this map pack available anymore? I just tried to download from get42.com... page not found :(

ArmA Crash on Win 7 x64

@ GossamerS Have you tried to repair / update your sound drivers? and reinstalled the game without any mods after that? How about other drivers.. including OpenAL ? I have 64 bit Win 7 home premium (rig is less than 3 weeks old, so all divers are up to date except catalyst drivers which i haven't updated 9.12...yet.. and arma i works well...

ArmA Crash on Win 7 x64

@ Stewy: it's a memory size issue.... http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=84497&highlight=msconfig+limit+memory Limit your memory size and it works ok. 1.17 beta works without this "tweak"...
  14. Its possible, but what i've heard (correct if i'm wrong) it doesn't work well. This is probably because Trackclip's vertical positioning of leds is not a straight line and you can't adjust this in FT's clip model. But if you buy a infrared camera and use vector clip, i think it would work just fine. Snow Edit: That was quick ;) Really? I had a impression that Trackclip would cause the movement work incorrectly, for example side shifting on vertical axis when turning your head.
  15. I have radeon 9600 series card now and it has worked always reliably, even with much criticized CCC, so 4890 seemed a natural choice... Basicly it's a matter of overall budget, allthough GTX is still an option if facts prove otherwise.... In that case i have to change the mobo also :/ What i don't want is a rig that is not comfortable to play with Ofp, Arma or Arma 2 (last mentioned i don't have yet). So youre happy with 48** series? Or is the highly praised Win 7 the key here?
  16. During last 24 hours i have been searching through Arma 2 forums and found out tons of threads and problems with Arma 2 and ATI. My question might have been aswered already but i don't have time to read through all this so any help is highly appreciated. My new rig is now coming up and is following: X4 phenom 955 BE MSI 790GX-G65 Motherboard 6 GB 1333 ddr3 mem. 1 TB HD Sapphire radeon 4890 1 GB vapor-X GPU Win 7 64-bit Is this totally useless or non playable combination in Arma 2? Why i ask, is that i might still have few seconds to change my mind about the rig... Can anyone help on this? txh, Snow

    Will ArmA 2 support FreeTrack?!

+ 1 vote for FT support from here also...

    shouldn't this run better?

....sigh... As i said, it runs fine with Arma..... You see my friend, this one's almost six years old. You can't expect it to give 50fps or "normal" level of details. And it really make no sense to start upgrading it, in any manner... And lastly, if i'm even going to buy Arma2 is uncertain.... all to be seen later....

    shouldn't this run better?

...and be careful who you call to man up, it might be that you are the one who's patting the s***t in the sandbox...

    shouldn't this run better?

Not detailed and wiew distance is short but not impossible. You can refer it like driving a night rally using only half lights, things just happen quickly. :D Of course it also depends what you are ready to tolerate in the game. Vanilla Arma runs on my rig ok. problems starts with more detailed mods and such. But it has been great times anyways...

    shouldn't this run better?

Don't know if this helps any but: If you have a agp card you could try to lift agp aperture size. It had a big impact on my pc. Also improving cooling was worth to do. i installed a cooling kit to gpu card which included cooling element and fan for GPU and heatsinks. Helped much too. My specs: P4 2.8 (oc to 3.0) 1 G Kingston memory Sapphire radeon 9600XT pro 128 Win XP Of course, all settings are very low, but the game somewhat playable... most of the time... ...and yes yes, i know it's a crappy rig but i bought it for ofp... and got over arma1 with it. So now the pricetag says only 1300 euros for being able to play Arma2 properly ..sweet...:computer::annoy:
  23. Copyprotection is ok for me when it's done properly and don't cause problems to everyday use of your own pc, or compromise data stored on pc in any manner. Some time ago i was in this kind of situation.. Copyprotection system blocked my dvdburner so badly that i couldn't burn my photos on dvd's anymore. Situation got even worse when i learned that my burner is not compatible with this system and could cause permanent jamming of the burner. (which it eventually did) ...and the company first denied that it would not do this, just like they denied existence of a rootkit.. Finally they released unistallation kit so that i could finally get rid of the game and the copyprotection for good. Now i have practically unplayed sub sim and a broken burner (don't know if it can be fixed). Securom in arma has not caused this bad problems even it has acted sometimes a little weird, so i have somekind of positive expectations from arma2. I will follow closely how things work before i buy my copy because i wont allow same nightmare happen again. Whatever the system might be.
