  1. noticed that yesterday to...i only noticed the vehicle's health bar getting smaller...nothing else. you should really be able to hear, when being shot at.
  2. i think it got something to do with AA enabled. Silent Hunter 3 got the same issue...if you tunr on AA...there where small white dots all over the sea.
  3. Yeah! i really hate that you can't remap the Tab (next target) key to anything except Tab. (You can remap it...but it won't work)

    The "pasty ground" is called postprocessing! Disable it and it will look fine ;-)

    if you use the weather modul....you always got clouds....without the weather modul...you get a clear blue sky (if weather settings are that way...)
  7. Tried the new Catalyst 9.7 yesterday...and it actually did help! I still got a hugh performance drop from AA...but not as fatal as bevor. It seem to be "one category" better. That means: i can now play with AA to normal and get the same FPS i got with Cat 9.6 and AA to low. Cat 9.7 AA high FPS= Cat 9.6 AA normal FPS. Not perfect...but now i can play with AA to low witout FPS dropping under 28 (normally)...and i can eve play with AA normal...and still get 25 FPS in Cities and Woods with red trees.

    Performance for my HD4890 with AA enabled it much better now with Cat 9.7
  9. there seem to be an AA issue with ATI 48XX (4870/4890) cards. See this Thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=77137 at Page 2 there are links to Threads with the same problems.

Yeah i did that first. disabling adaptive AA gives a slight boost (like 2-3 FPS)...but enabling AA (especially above low) relly kills the performance. especially compared to fillrate. in ArmA1 i played with AA to very high...it doesn't cost that much FPS....but ArmA2 is unplayable with AA above low :( /edit: same issue here, too http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=77306

  13. Are you using the same GFX Card? Anything special you configure at the catalyst control center?
  14. Tried that, and it helps a little. but i can't play with normal due to the bad performance. i think it is really strange, that i can run the game with a really high fillrate much smoother than with AA to "normal".

    year but the performance on my ATI 4890 is terrible. i got more FPS when i run with 150% fillrate instead of AA to normal. insane!
  16. AA nearly kills the performance for my ATI 4890 :( I got lower FPS when i use AA on low, then to use 150% Fillrate (200% Fillrate is just slighlty slower). Setting AA to normal or high makes Arma2 unplayable. Is there something wrong with ATI, ArmA2 and AA ?

    Patch 1.02 Stability Survey

    i really like the patch. Gives a performance boost, so now i can play with fillrate at 133% and it looks good. but looking forward to real FSAA in the next patch. The only issue i got is, that postprocessing resets itself after restart to normal...it won't stay off.

  21. At first i was dissapointed by the AA without shadows...then i realised, turning of postrocessing gives me such an incredible boost in fps...i can now play with fillrate set to 133% instead :D Love the patch so far...but miss an analog throttle.

    i think the cheapest way to get TrackIR in Germany is to ordern in the UK. no customs...good prices...and the shop personal at rcsimulations.com is very friendly. (and i like to avoid ebay...)
  24. Hi Folx, after some testing i found that the BTR90 and the LAV25 are nearly unusable as a Commander (especially with AI driver and gunner). You cant see the body from the commander view...so you cant tell in wich direction the thing is heading and you got no idea where the gun is pointed. Please give us a hud like in the Tanks, that shows the turret orientation, etc. They get erven more unusable by the way the AI turns the turret. if the vehicle does a smooth 90 degree turn....the turret turns like this: 20°...stay a while...20° stay a while, etc. you get completly desorientated as commander, cause your view turns with the turret. it gets really shitty, when you mark a target behind the vehicle. the turret turns around 180° and so does the commander view....impossible to compensate that turn by mouse movement...you now lok in the exact oposite direction of the target...and where the danger is.

    HUD for BTR90+LAV25

    just place a LAV in the editor...player as commander and drive through difficult terrain (city, forrest, hills, etc.) you get completly lost and due to linking the turret with the commander view the commander gets useless. how to spot enemys, when the turrets turns continously?
