  2. Yay! worked. Before I was using a bin but I think I had renamed it from CPP or something.....ROFL. That must have been the issue. Sorry fo doubting. This pack kicks ass and adds no more lag then already what is there. (In fact, in some tank battles I had LESS lag.....? rock.gif ) Anyway. Thanks for the help and rock on!


  3. I'm using 1.6 and Dreamy Knight's animations and every thing works fine smile_o.gif

    You probably made a mistake installing the animation pack smile_o.gif

    I dont think I did that. Remember when Pappy (I think thats who) unpbo-ed o and anim.pbo and then distrubted those for other people to take (that way they didnt have to go through the process of installing it all themselves)? I downloaded that and used it for quite a while before ever downloading the FlashFX. Then, after installing this mod and running both of them at once, I got that very annoying handgun bug.

    I am completely stumped. when I turn off FlashFx, everything works fine. Would you like me to post some pics?


  4. mad_o.gif has anyone tried using hand guns after installing this pack? I get a very odd (and a very annoying) bug where I cant walk or move once i select a handgun. When I go prone or when I crouch while the handgun is selected, it switches back to rifle weapon, BUT it doesnt bring it off my back. Instead, I am stuck in the handgun position and when I fire, the rifle on my back fires....  rock.gif yes. this is odd......but will someone else try using pistols with this mod on?

    EDIT: I am running the animation pack by Dreamy Knight and I dont think thats the issue as this issue did not arise till I used this mod. I imagine its some sort of BIN error. I have no clue exactly but please look into this! Pistols are unusable with this on crazy_o.gif


  5. Getting hanz zimmer....while GOD that would be awesome, would almost be impossible.

    DONT DO LISENCED MUSIC! Thats what makes this game seperate then the other games...Its not conventional popular bullshit. It is its own shining gem on its own silver pedestal. It doesnt need anything like that.

    Seventh, IMO, I thought was awesome. They are almost a tradition in OFP culture now! Original and never heard of em, but everyone has musical tastes. Hell! Im a raver crazy_o.gif but techno NEVER works for anything like OFP. mad_o.gif

    For sure get some really nice instrumental stuff. Like saving private ryan - the music can add a lot of depth. So get some pianos and loooooooooow subbasses. Some booming kicks and all that and make some really omnious shit, please!


  6. YAY! Lets get odd with it yo.

    Addaction I have found to be probably one of the most annoying commands in all of OFP as it is so messy.

    I've done quite a few of those "crime city" type of maps and the number one issue I've had is when are added actions local and when are they global.

    Everyone knows that any actions that are added from scripts (not in CCPs)[which is odd] can be activated by hitting it next to that unit. That means, you can be a soldier, and then go up to another soldier that has an action added to him and then you can use it. This is double sided.

    When removing the action from the person, it HAS to be global or only the person with the action will have it off his menu, but everyone else will still be able to use it off him...confusing - I know.

    Things I've done before in scripts for these kinds of missions have been selecters. You know what I mean....

    _arg1 = _this select 0 ; This is the unit/object the action was added to

    _arg2 = _this select 1 ; This is the person hitting the action

    So thus you could easily say.....

    ? (_arg2 != _arg1) : hint "You are not allowed to use this action from someone else!"; Exit

    This would just prevent people from using actions off one another and only activating it themselves. I did this also to make HALO scripts that would only allow people to activate it from the inside of the chopper/plane or to make it so the pilots or gunner couldnt jump out (HALO I mean, they could eject tounge_o.gif )

    Anyway.....yeh....adding actions can be one of the most annoying things in OFP. I find the easiest way is to add all the actions to an object that you know is always gonna be there.....instead of using triggers or whatever to add them.

  7. @DrBobcat: this is an excellent pack but please dont compare addons. Both packs have their advantanges and giving a score to them is just not fair.

    Yeh. I know. I have both packs on my pc and mix and match them as I please. They are both two different styles of addons and both are great. Both are good for different situations. I just was saying that I like the combat ones better as they seemed to have better textures and they were avaliable in desert. When I need an avenger or an ambulance, I cant go anywhere else for one but FK and thats ok with me.

    Anyway....my point is, I wasnt razzing anyone particular. That aint cool, I agree

  8. Here is my "review". This is gonna be a versus compared to FK Humvee pack from a while back.

    MODELS-

    While both are good, the humvees in this pack offer more variety but I like that i can use both and they dont look too foreign from one another (to me).  They are also slightly more detailed on the little things and look less flat in most areas so....

    8 - COMBAT!

    7 - FK

    TEXTURES-

    This one is defintely more in your department. Your guys' textures are way more lively and more realistic in my opinion. Less saturated and you also are the only ones with desert textures! FK's are pretty generic but they get the job done, although in some places (interior of AVENGER) could have been better...

    9 - COMBAT!

    6 - FK

    GAMEPLAY-

    I like the way the humvees handle more inside these then in FK. They feel more rugged and fast. FK's are like BISvees on steroids, while yours are more like a human to a monkey....

    Much less bugs and overall just nicer. The avenger was a long time wanted addon so that is nice to FK. But you guys have those desert textures and overall more shine!

    8.5 - COMBAT!

    GREAT JOB COMBAT! (And one little tiny thing to recommend is GET RID OF THAT TRACER ON THE TOW WHEN IT SHOOTS DOWN THE ROUND! LOOKS STUPID!  crazy_o.gif )


  9. This is even possible to script pretty easily in the game....having two weapons with two different models. An action menu option to fold/unfold stock. The script would also count the amount of mags using magazines and weapons commands (this way to let it mix with anything else, even addon magazines and shit). Magazines would be added first, then the new weapon (switching between the two different weapons). The weapon with the unfolded stock would have less recoil but have less manuverability (I've seen sniper rifles in ofp with really slow manuverability) and then the one folded stock would have the opposite. This would be WAY more realistic and also easy to do....

    Thats just me and my constant ranting. If anyone wants to start on this kind of idea...message me!


  10. Well I aint gonna go alllll the way back and find this but I bet it is mentioned. The T64's kick ultra ass but they CTD every time if I select any of the resistance types. Winter, desert, or woodland. They all CTD as soon as I start. All the russian ones work. Dont have a clue.....But that is my input.

    ON THE GOOD SIDE OF THINGS - The T55s are absolutely kick ass. I just found it odd that the driver and commander would turn out, while the gunner could not. Was that because the MG is there or something? Just curious....

    I love the sounds most of all and the textures are incredibly realistic. Overall, some of the best tanks I've seen in OFP yet.

    (I actually prefer playing as East now.... crazy_o.gif )
