This is SO frustrating! I have a Czech Cz/Vz52. Â She's in very good condition (though not quite mint), and I am SO in love with her. The only problem is ammo; basically my inability to find any. Â I have about 2 boxes left of NORINCO 7.62mmx25. It's the brass-colored rounds, wraped in intertwined narrow brown paper. I want to take it to the range and all, but being so low, I'm not sure I want to waste what I have. I once found some Italian ammo that "claimed" the same caliber, but no dice... the first round jammed in the chamber. Â It was a bitch to get out. Anyone know where I can get my hands on some? Â I've attended the last 3 Gun Conventions in town, but no one had any. Help would be appreciated...
-
Errr... in Clean Sweep II, how many people are in the town? I've killed nearly an entire Infantry Division, but the mission does not end. Anyone know how many folks are out there to kill?

I'm currently reading a book right now, with a cast of USMC Recon members. One of them is described as using a "heavy-barreled, sniper select M16". Â I know my weapons pretty well, more than the average bear you could say, but I confess that I don't know this one. Â Now, I'm familiar with the term "heavy-barreled", but would someone mind giving me some more detailed info/stats/history on exactly what the terms "heavy barreled" and "sniper-select" (one that I have not heard) mean? Thanks!

Okay, if this has already been an issue before, I apologize. I made a search and couldn't find it, but I may have used the wrong key words. Â If this topic has already been discussed, please feel free to set up a link to it. Anyway, I simply want to know how you limit (or not limit) the weapons a character can select from at the beginning of the game? Â For example, in the GEAR tab during Mission Briefing, how would I set it up so that the character could select from ANY weapon? ...from only a certain number of weapons? ....from no weapons (is stuck with the default I assigned)? Also, for that matter how about selecting 2nd weapons (LAW, Carl Gustav, etc.), Other (NVGs, Binocs, etc.)? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!
-
That helps a lot, ran, thank you. How about the term "sniper select", what's that mean?
-
Okay, Ralph. Let's break this down... what do these things mean: (1) "class Weapons" - Is this what section of the equipment you're specifying (i.e. Weapons, Equipment I, Equipment II, etc.)? (2) "class [itemname]"- Is this the inclusion of the weapon in the players "to-choose-from" list? So that if the weapon name appears here, it will be available for the player to select? (2) "count = 5;" - You got me on this. What value does the # represent? Thanks a TON for your help...

Okay, Ralph... Here is a "description.ext" file from a random mission I just took apart.  Please show me where I would select what weapons that character can select from in the beginning: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"> class CfgRadio {    sounds[] =    {       Tm_back2, Tm_tngd1, Tm_tngd2. I did a search for "description.ext", and though I found a handful of posts, none discussed this specific matter. Any other ideas?

I found this on the Jane's website: Objective Individual Combat Weapon (16/08/00) The OICW will be capable of firing both standard 5.56mm kinetic-energy ammunition as well as a new 20mm high-explosive airbursting round. © Photo: Alliant Techsystems. ... this REALLY looks uncomfortable.  Is anyone truly considering manufacturing this, and/or is any nation's army really THAT interested in permanently displacing their infantrymen's shoulders by forcing them to wedge this weapon (which is roughly the size of Bermuda) in a firing position?
-
If you think the OICW is bizarre... you should see Heckler and Koch and Alliant Techsystems' next fray into the weapons market... The SuperKill WorldEater MegaDeathStick 2000!!
-
Actually, I heard that the National Card Game Association (supported by the Bingo Is Fun campaign) is appealing that ruling.... ...something about potential loss of profits?
-
How big is the NZ army, bogo? Hmmm... let's see... ...4... 6.......12....18..... I'd say about 24 men.
-
Hey... why bother with that outdated stuff when you can support your local Soviet economy and "relieve" them of some of their excess weaponry? Stop by and look at Top Line Soviet Weaponry at bargain basement prices!!! I'll take one T-80U, a VSS Sniper Rifle (in case I need to go in on foot), and perhaps an Mi-35 for extraction? ...anyone wanna jump in with me? Â Perhaps we can all make a donation and purchase something under the guise of the OFFAFTSC (the Operation Flashpoint Forum Association For The Socially Challenged) ... any takers?
-
Well, I hear they were going to come out with another bizarre weapon... but something happened to their field tester... ... at least that one had more promise. It looked more comfortable.

Now, I know that the exact figures may vary depending what nation is being referrenced, but I would really like some information that would apply (at least) in general "across-the-board". Â Basically, I want to know is, how big is a Division? a Regiment? a Battalion? a Company? an Army?, etc. (I know there are more). Â Also, how are they structured? Â For example (and I'm just making this up) there are 4 regiments in a battalion, 2 battalions in a division, 4 divisions in an Army, etc. Â This is something that has always eluded me, and an answer would shine a lot of light on an otherwise dim understanding. Again, I know that the size and content may potentially vary by nation (i.e. British Divisions may be larger than those of the Soviets, U.S. battalions are typically larger than those of Finnland, etc), so if I could get feedback from persons of different countries with their respective info, that would help much more!

Poll: most widely used add-ons (1.75)

Colshine... there's a nice Soviet heavy-caliber sniper rifle out there. Â Here's some information on the real weapon, while below you'll find the link to the weapon for OFP. Â Hope that helps, and drop us (at least me) a line once you've got your campaign(s) done! V-94 Caliber: 12.7 x 108mm Operation: Gas Feed Device: 5 Round Detachable Box Magazine Sights: Telescopic Weight: 11 kg The V-94 provides Russian snipers with an effective long range anti-material rifle. The V-94 fires a heavy 12.7x108mm shell that can pierce the skin of most lightly armoured vehicles in operation and destroy other light targets, such as communications equipment, artillery and grounded aircraft. The V-94 is capable of engaging targets up to and possibly over 2 kilometers. It is equipped with a powerful 13x60 magnification PSO optical sight. The weapon is semi-automatic and fires from a detatchable five-round box magazine. Though very heavy, this weapon gives spetsnaz units the capacity to engage heavier targets at longer ranges and has proved to be a very useful tool in the hands of an experienced sniper. Here's where it can be found... Soviet V-94 for OFP ...enjoy! -
If you could sit and have a long, enjoyable dinner and conversation with someone, anyone, who would it be? Â They can be living or dead, but they must be real people (no Spiderman replies, please). Â The dinner would be a long, 7-course meal with ample conversation time (most likely about a topic relating to your guest and/or about your guest themselves). Â Only one answer please, so think about it before you post. Â Try to give a good reason why, too... don't just say "because he/she was cool!!!". So... who would you have dinner with... and why?

Scorpio... I don't think you have to put much explanation why...

How to put empty cars, tanks, etc.
Demagor replied to TheRedBaron's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
DV's right... granted, you won't be able to see anything until you create a player (the [PREVIEW] option will not appear), but yes, you can create such items before a player is in existence. -
Hey gents... ...keeping in-subject, is there a way to have a helicopter begin the game, hover a bit, then slowly pitch and crash on a specific spot? Â The "specific spot" part is important! Â The survival of the pilots are unimportant, but if we could somehow have a passenger (or gunner) survive (injured of course) ... that would be nice. From what you've all posted so far, I see how I could create a wrecked vehicle, or one that begins the game, then explodes (both attractive effects), but I really want to depict a crash. Â I'd probably want to arrange a cutscene to show the crash before the mission occurs.... any ideas?

If I'm not mistaken (and I wouldn't be surprised if I am), I believe that you can: 1) Click-and-hold the left mouse button 2) Drag it over everything you wish to bring with you 3) copy that (CTRL + C should work) 4) Switch to Intro 5) Then paste (CTRL + V should work) Tada... it's magic! Pay no attention to the struggling rabbit up my sleeve!

Shoot at me but dnt hit me!
Demagor replied to D.murphy man's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
I'm sure some high-tech OFP programmer would probably mention some script like : "UnitName CrappyAim = true" or something, but I would have to agree with you and say that lowering their skill is the best way. Â That makes quite a difference on their aim, mind you. Â I once tested two snipers of the exact same unit type; one had max skill, the other had the lowest. Â In front of them, I placed 10 Soviet soldiers. Â The max-skill guy took out 9 people, the min-skill guy took out 1. Â As a side-note, I witnessed them fire at the same rate (so it's not like the max-skill hit more because he shot more). -
I just saw Black Hawk Down yesterday, and like just about every loyal OFP fan that saw the movie, I'm SO motivated to make a mission based on the movie/scenario. I've found a map that someone made which resembles the center of the town and includes the U.S. base nearby. However, I'm missing two items that I find vital to the creation. I apologize in advance if I use improper or politically-incorrect verbiage here, but... anyone know where I can find african-american (black) militia? Also, if anyone knows where I could find (assuming one exists) an improvised 3/4-ton pickup with an MG on it (DShck or M2HB is fine) or even a modified car or truck with the same? Â Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also, if someone knows of an existing campaign/mission based on the movie or similar to the events of the movie, I'd love it if you could direct me to its location.

I know this question is so incredibly dumb, that it will lower my social standing among you. Â However, I love this game so much, that it's a risk I have to take. Â I have updated my base OFP to v1.46 and everything runs fine. Â Now, I see talk about Resistance-this and Resistance-that, and now I can't continue to exist without getting my own copy. Â The problem is, that I haven't acquired the Red Hammer expansion yet, and this concerns me somewhat. Am I able to "upgrade" to Resistance without having Red Hammer? Â If so, would there be any complication in upgrading to Red Hammer afterwards? Â I'm not in the position to buy them both (though I want to), and it seems that if it's one or the either, I'd definitely choose Resistance. Â Could someone shine some light on this?
