I started with the original FDF sounds and switched to the modwar sounds and was hooked. But i noticed in some missions i couldnt hear the vehicles like one mission i made, the UAZ would drive up right behind me and couldnt hear it at all. I went back to default for awhile because of that but then tried the new FDF sounds and all is well so i'll stick with them till chammy finishes his and hopefully i'll still be able to hear vehicles with his. The sound packs so far have come out as a mod folder so they are easy to use and uninstall. Just delete the mod folder if you dont want them anymore. You can even have alot of different sound packs in your main directory and use which ever one you want by changing your shortcut properties with the -mod feature. If your having trouble figuring out which direction gunfire and vehicles are coming from, try turning on EAX. Headphones help with directional sound as well. Try positioning your speakers to the sides as well. If your speakers are close together and right in front of you its not going to help the directional sounds.

I guess i'll wait for the english version and a 1.08 updated version. Looking for servers running this, i only see one which looks to be the official (assuming its the team that made it) one which is running version 1.05 and its passworded. And im not much into single player. Keep us updated when the english 1.08 version is coming out please.

Is this the single player or multiplayer version ..... or both combined?? Might want to update your main site cause it still has the old downloads listed in the files area. I just downloaded the old ones and then just noticed the new version listed here and since you cant patch over top of the old ones, they should be deleted and the new file added. Cant wait for the English version!! But i'll give this a try while waiting.

Like the title says ......... Im trying to find out how to make my mission so that it has a way to turn repawns on or off before starting the mission. Just like being able to turn AI off, i want something to turn respawns on or off. And yes ive searched all over through about 10-15 pages of respawn posts and didnt see anything. I know we had this in OFP so hopefully there is an easy solution. By the way, im using the BAS-F framework version 0.31 and using a GROUP respawn if it matters.

No one has the code for this?? One person did send me the code to set it up for base respawn but i cant figure out how to get it to work for group respawns. Maybe if someone has an OFP mission that has a respawn switch (to turn respawns ON or OFF before the mission starts), Can you send me the mission or let me know the name so i can download it, i might be able to figure out how to add it to my mission?? I had a question on the mission co20_Port. Are you supposed to be able to get in the vehicles at the base or not?? Cause i couldnt get in any. The HUMMV with the tow could be a big help .... lol

You want it off anyway as VOIP supposedly works better with it off.

Are these working in 1.07 yet? Do they work with US version 1.06?

I have an Audigy 2 sound card that has caused me problems in the past and was about to re-install it since i did make some hardware changes but now i dont have to. Thanks again.

Well i had troubles getting going with this game but i can now play single player missions and the campaign but i still have yet to be able to play online. I cant even start my own game online through INTERNET or LAN. Im either locking up or getting the following error. The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007f) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b I got real close a couple times getting into a server last night. When i joined i was able to see the server text in the upper left corner and showed me connected, then i was able to choose a slot and then hit OK. I got all the way to the loading screen and at the last second it went back to the selection screen with a solid green bar across the middle of the page and seemed to freeze there. It wasnt a lockup because i could still see fraps changing numbers. The servers all seem to be running the evolution1.5A mission so i even downloaded it and placed it in my MPMissions folder so i would have to download through the game. Ive tried about everything i can think of or have read about but just cant get online. Seems crazy that i cant even start my own game ........... even on LAN. Ive opened every port listed on my router and even turned off the XP firewall. Since it seems like im connected and see the server text i didnt think it was a firewall or port issue .... but im trying everything right now. I did some google searching for the error im getting and found some info where other have gotten the same error using other software and they said it was a DLL error but i have no idea what DLL it could be or if in fact it is a DLL error in ARMA. Any and all help would be appreciated. By the way ...... this is on a freshly reformatted PC running Windows XP Home with all updated drivers and windows updates. My specs as of now (been switching alot of different hardware to see if it changes ... including 3 different video cards) Mobo: Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev 2.0 (nforce2 chipset) CPU: AMD XP1900+ (had the same prob with a 2500+) Video Card: ATI 9800 Pro All In Wonder 128MB (its actually running better than my GF 6800 GT 256MB was) Right now im running everything on the lowest settings in game at 1024 x 768 just trying to get it running properly and getting over 30 fps in game in singleplayer. This is the US retail version. If you need more info just ask ......... Obviously im getting very aggravated here.

I hadnt tried the original beta before as i just got my game (US version) the other day but today i downloaded both beta versions , installing them both and fired up 1 mission and textures were missing all over the place. deleted the beta folder right away and now back to 1.05 till something better comes along. Theres obviously still some problems going on so im assuming it will be awhile before we get the official patch. Not much info or help i know .... but just wanted to post my results.

Just wondering how you all are setting up your joysticks for flying. Im mainly wondering about the twist axis setting. I 1st set it to TURN RIGHT & LEFT but OMG its just way to sensative. I have it set for right and left pedals now but it just seems not sensative enough that way although i do seem to have more control ....... especially at slow speeds but it just doesnt seem to spin quite right. How are you all setting yours up?? Im using a sidewinder force feedback 2 joystick. By the way ... is there any force feedback in this game?? By the way i did do a search but since this search feature doesnt allow you to search for EXACT PHRASE it brings up a ton of useless threads to have to sort through.

Unable to authenticate original disc within time limit I just bought the US retail verion and installed the game and it ran fine but when i shut it down it will not restart and i keep getting this same error. When i hit retry i then get an error saying im trying to run a back up copy .... which im not. Ive tried to find new drivers for my DVD player (Cyberdrive DM166D) but havent had any luck. This seems it may be a hardware issue but just not sure since i have no problems with other games using it. Any thoughts or suggestions on solving this problem?? By the way i did do a search and saw the other securom issues mentioned but mine seems different.

Just wanted to update this.......... I had forgotten to update my mobo drivers which is also the onboard sound and that took care of the problem. Im up and running now but definitely going to need to upgrade this PC to get better performance. on a side note ...... the old DVD rom still wont go through securom but the newer one runs it fine.

lil update on the problem. Put in a new DVD rom and it goes through securom fine now BUT .......... now i get an error on start up!! "Arma has encountered a problem and needs to close" Well im gonna start searching for any answers in here to see what to do now but if anyone can point me to a link, thread or offer some suggestions i would appreciate it. This is a fresh install on a reformatted HD. specs: AMD 2500+ Geforce 6800GT 1 gig ram ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo newest nvidia drivers DirectX 9.0c

Thanx for the reply. restarts dont work for me and i just reformatted my C drive today and still doing the same thing. At least when i installed it the 1st time it opoened once .... now it wont open at all. Guess i'll try another DVD rom.

Why in the world would they change the name of the game for the US release?? That makes no sense to me!! US Release info

One of the main reasons i play FPS on the PC and only really play Sports games on the console is the fact that you can have more players online on a PC. Playing ArmA with a max of 16 people just doesnt cut it for me and is the reason i wont spend $60 on the newer next gen console games. Look at GOW for the 360 ............ i think its only a max of 8 players online. Not to mention ..... all the console shooters are scripted so much you have to follow the same path over and over with the enemy always in the same places. And a mouse & keyboard is the only way to go ..... lol. Although i believe we will start seeing mouse & keyboard support for consoles very soon. This adapter looks very cool. Xtenders XFPS 360

I know what you mean about not being that many servers to play on and use the following link to keep an eye on whats going on. It seems to getting more & more online as each day passes but not as many as i figured there would be. This has been the reason ive been waiting patiently for a US release too ........... not so many full servers going and the fact that i have to upgrade my PC 1st ..... lol. Server list

With as long as it took OFP to be ported to the xbox (which is the reason it took so long for us to get ArmA) ............ the XBOX 720 & PS4 will be out by then!! Hopefully they stick to improving the PC version and have learned from the OFP Elite failure. You cant put out outdated graphics into a game when everyone is screaming for next gen quality.
