    It requires QG to play, so I imagine if you tried to load the map using the original ArmA shortcut, you would have problems.

    There isn't any AH64 Apache in ArmA (yet). Those clips look like they are from OFP, not ArmA. As for FLIR, there was none in OFP by default. This clip could have possibly been created with a mod, but I think it's more likely clever editing.

    Ok I think I found a few more bugs in the last few Evolution games I played in. M203 grenades don't seem to be resupplying correctly to the ammo crates. I first noticed this while practicing with them on the targets at base, and I ran completely out. Much later on in the mission, it resupplied back to 40, some time after I had been using the other crate near the hangars. I remember a few versions back, I had a similar bug with the G36's not resupplying. A few of the higher up vehicles seem to have problems rearming at base. I believe the vehicles effected are the AH-1, UH-60MG, Striker Mk19, and possibly a few others. The issue with the Mk19 IIRC, was that it would not reload more than one "magazine" of ammo. I had quite a bit of trouble with the UH-60MG since when I landed to rearm it, it seemed to reload the miniguns, then remove the ammo in a brief split second. I was not able to use the ammo trucks at base to rearm either because when I got back in the heli, it would service and remove the ammo again. The only workaround for this was to fly out to a nearby FARP to rearm. Similar issue with the AH-1 Cobra too, except it seems the cobra's mg turret was actually being rearmed while FFARs and missles weren't.
  9. I can't load the 1.07 beta because this error message comes up. I've uninstalled > Deleted Profiles > reinstalled > 1.05 patch > 1.07 patch > same error I never installed the previous 1.05 beta. I never had any problems until I loaded this beta and I don't have any problems when I load ArmA without running the beta folder.   10. Fixed... I misunderstood the readme that was zipped with the installation .exe file. I added the -mod=beta line to the shortcut, but wasn't using the arma.exe in the beta folder.

    Your ideal PC to play ARMA?

    Dual Core E6600 8800 GTX 2GB RAM XP Pro My computer runs beautifly on Armed Assault. I haven't clocked the framerate on it, but it runs very smoothly at 5km view distance with settings turned up. I wouldn't go SLI with the GTXs... I've read using SLI only tipically adds 10% to your framerate. Also I've heard SLI with two GTXs can actually LOSE performance.

    First of all, diddo what dwinger said. Secondly, I don't think I was being clear because I don't actually enable trackIR zoom. I'm constantly leaning forward and back so that wouldn't work out for me. What I meant to say is the normal field of view (not zoomed at all) seems not zoomed out enough. It seems more apparent with TrackIR because of all the head movement. With no peripheral vision it's like fighting with blinders on.

    1.4 Bugs AI SPAM I guy in our public server started spamming ai saying he was going to create an army. He would recruit the maximum number of ai, then leave the group. He did this repeatedly till the base was full of AI bot squads. These squads couldn't be joined because the ai leaders wouldn't accept us. We destroyed the squads by running them over with vehicles so we wouldn't lose rank. Littlebird Transport Possible bug in scoring transport missions where I would ferry other player's squads to the next town. After a while I noticed my score wasn't increasing for transporting men. I joined a different slot and it started scoring again. Later I checked again and I seemed to be getting fewer points then men transported, and it was over a distance of almost 10km. A hint or vehicle chat text would be welcome feedback for when recieving transport score. It would go a long way to figuring out which situations might not recieve points.

    VOIP Suggestion

    I didn't see anything about this listed in the 1.05 changelog. How is this feature coming along?
  19. First of all, thank you BIS for the new ironsites. I love them! I'm excited with the progress that the game is making, and before the US release, there's just one more thing I really want. I like the Voice over Net feature, and I REALLY like the fact that it works. I noticed though that VON doesn't really seem to work if you are in the Direct Communicator channel. Now in chat, that channel can be used for talking directly to nearby players, and it's there to simulate talking directly to someone instead of over the radio. I think it would be AWESOME if you could reserve this channel for direct VON too! By direct Voice over Net, I mean that the sound of my voice will come from my body, and it should fade the further from me you are. I don't know of any game to date that has implemented this kind of communication, yet the advantages to the voice-in-the-ear approach are quite obvious. Here's an example of one of the uses: ***Before*** Player 1: "Hey, Come here" Player 2: "Where are you?" Player 1: "To your left" Player 1: "No turn around" Player 2: "I don't freakin see you!" Player 1: "Ok.. Just.. Ok, look southwest" Player 2: "Ok..." Player 1: "Now look up, I'm on the thing" Player 2: "Oh I see you" ***After*** Player 1: "I'm hit! MEDIC!" Player 2: "I don't see you! Where are you?" Player 1: "MEDIC! I'm over HERE!" Player 2: "I see you! Hold on" Ok, might be a bit exaggerated, but not by much. You can instantly and easily determine the aproximate direction and distance to the speaker, and help him with whatever he needs. This is one thing TeamSpeak or any other third party program CANNOT do, and is why integrated VOIP is nessesary. I haven't mentioned wether or not enemy units in adversarial games should be able to hear you, but frankly I don't care ether way. I actually don't mind if the enemy can hear me. If I have something I need to say that I don't want the badguys to hear, I'll switch channels. It would be hillarious to taunt an enemy, and have him run straight into an ambush.

    That's great news Pierrot, if he was refering to both counts. If they can make it so you hear the voices from the nearby units when they talk over the radio, then it should be no problem to do the same for Direct Communication. Hopefully someone Official can comment more on this.
