Question about server bandwidth

I believe the minmum bandwidth for upload is 50kb per player. So for 10 you will need at least 500kb which is the usual limit for hosted MP. After that you will run into serious lag issues. So it depends on how many players you plan on having? 20 might be tough unless you have at least 1 meg upload speed (very rare for home product) and one pimped PC! -
The game offeres many more TvT options than the old boring capture flag and hold sector! Such as: - Hunt the Prey. 2 human teams (Russian and American) Hunt a human player(s) - Assasination: Human has to protect VIP riding in a convoy against ambush while other team plans and ambush the convoy. - Chopper shut down and SF team (Human players) tries to fight its way out of a city surrounded by rebels (human players) There are so many other options, ideas taken from major headline news. The beauty of the editor is you can take any miltary operation and translate it into editor.

Hi fusionofp, Thank you for trying the mission. Here is a link to NATO symbols and good info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APP-6A The art is an issue I have not encountered (you playing last version uploaded on here I assume). But will try to duplicate this weekend. We are testing a new version where the Air component has been optimised to give armor a chance. Also the enemy in new vesion will ahve artillery and will not hestitate to use it .. I will upload new version this weekend once we have tested a few more times in MP setting (already works fine in SP). Thank you for your feedback. -

Hi everyone, I am searching for a way to get a response group to move to different areas activated by triggors. For example: This response group is located at base. There are 3 Triggors: A,B and C. They get activated repeatedly by presense of enemy. Once of those get activated, response group moves to trig area for search and destroy, if they dind nothing after 3 minutes of S&D they go back to base.Is that easily doable? Thank you for your help in advance. -

I think you can you set dammage to legs and keep it recuring via script. -
The ACM is unpredictable and that explains why in some cases the mission was way too easy. (played it at least 12 times and finished it in 11 out of 12 with less than 2 casualties (enemies will stop giving chase once you have outrun them by a bit). I recommend using Norrins UPS spawn script, more predictable and scalable and will add to intensity which this mission has already. It just needs that little extra spice for those of us who like it HOT! :)

I would not call myself a scriptor, but I know enough for basics in mission. What I wanted was to have a few of us design sub missions within a larger mission then merge them together as in real life battles are usually smaller missions put together. This could be done for large Coop and as TvT.

Which do you play more? Huge PVP MP battles or small coop missions?

I like missions which are unique and usually they do not fit in one single category. Such as hunt missions where 2 steahlth competing teams of human players huting one human player while AI is hostile towards all of them! -
You won't find any Public servers. However there are a few private clan servers that cater to TvT as long you do not mind joining clans

I will check it out. I am almost up for a good grand battle. I am working on a new mission that will have over 1,500 AI at any given time on battle field. It might require 32 core PCs with 12 graphic cards and 10,000 KWT PSU but that is a minor detail! :)

It is important from mission design prospective, to involve different elements, Air,Infantry,Armor, artillery and maybe some SF component behind enemylines instead of having 2 large groups of 500 men each attach each other with move WP! (I have seen a few) :) I'd like to cooperate with mission designers who are interested in Grand Battles (a few it seems) on making the mother of all battles mission .. :)

you are doing great work for someone who lacks experience :) The AI sight is not too good in this game so a little cheating might be necessary. That is where dispersion comes in to make it fair. ALso maybe adding 2 or 3 FO using some artillery unit, so if one goes down artillery still has (eyes) on battle field. Keep up the good work. -

The name is Bond .. BoB Bond but you can call me BB I am sure I am not the only Bond fan here .. I like stealth games where both the predator and prey display .. high level of IQ (higher than AI anyway) Mission: A double agent spy has slept with the general's wife and got his hands on some senstive .. information! Now American General wants him dead! He has dispatched SF team behind enemy lines to track him and kill him! The Spy has also double crossed the Russians and now they have also dispatched a spetsnaz team to track him down and kill him. To make things worse, he just crashed his car and the General's wife with him did not survive! Now with a dead woman and a crashed car, he has to deal with the Russians, American SF, spetsnaz and police after his head! To make things worse, the poor soul (SPY) does not know, a GPS has been placed on him without his knowledge. Now both killer teams have locked on his GPS signal and will hunt him down! Only chance for survival, is for the spy is to make it back to a friendly ally base, located 5 KM up north. Ok now more about the actual mission: This is a Co-op PvP missions (1 Human player vs. 7 Human players vs. AI) Spy= Human Player hunted by Americans, Russian Army, Russian Police and Spetsnas! American SF= Human players (up to 7) Will locat spy via GPS marker on map that is updated every 30 seconds. They have to watchout for the Russian Patrols in area plus the spetznas team! Once they close to SPY's base up north they have to watch out for Northern Patrols! Russian Army= AI Patrol roads looking for him while UAVs and Helicopters search for him (and any americans) Spetznas Team= AI team also locked on GPS signal from SPY and is hunting him down. Russian Police= Police cars on patrol looking for SPY The SPY has only one life - like most of us (ie no respawn) so better be good at hide and seek! He also has time bombs (use for setting up traps) and long scope weapon! 2 small Addons needed (included with mission): - sen_weapons - FastRope Mission v1.5: Armaholic: - The spy who loved too many (@) v1.5 FileFront: - http://www.filefront.com/14524497/The_SPY.rar Good luck Mr Bob Bond! What I would recommend for next version to add more tension: - Helicopters searching for west group and based on sighting, trucks (even helicopter) repsawn 200 meters from player group and unload troops to go to last known position.

Grand Battles are my fav type of battle and main reason I got Arma2! Sadly no too missions geared towards. Would love to see more. Feel free to check out mine (take the airport) which has over 600-800 (at any given time) AI with combined arms (PLanes,helicopters, tanks, infantry and some paratroopers and insertion on battle field. I hope other mission makers make Le Grande missions as well! :)

I am begining to think there are not many James Bond fans on here .. Anyway, here is a new version, with a few enhancments and it is offered in daytime and night time version. Chanes to version 1.5: - Civilian hospitals for spy to use since he has no respawn. - Smarter AI that hunts SPY and West more aggressively. - More patrols near roads. - Spetsnz now will utilize UAV to find you! - Fast reaction team that will be inserted if spy is detected! - Fixed Marker.
