Yeah, its normal. happens every time for me.

I was part of a duo that tried to do the same thing with the Target: America Mod. Long story short, real life got in the way, but i had the story worked out and finished the campaign. Its actually a doable thing, but first you need some resistance fighters that would simulate the ragtag feel better than a standard issue pair of camos.
PS. Though the acting wasn't great, that was one of my favorite war movies.

A celtic war song my dad used to play
Quote[/b] ]'Twas down the glen one Easter mornTo a city fair rode I.
When Ireland's line of marching men
In squadrons passed me by.
No pipe did hum, no battle drum
Did sound its dread tattoo
But the Angelus bell o'er the Liffey's swell
Rang out in the foggy dew.
Right proudly high over Dublin town
They flung out a flag of war.
'Twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky
Than at Suvla or Sud el Bar.
And from the plains of Royal Meath
Strong men came hurrying through;
While Britannia's sons with their long-range guns
Sailed in through the foggy dew.
Oh, the night fell black and the rifles crack
Made "Perfidious Albion" reel
'Mid the leaden rail, seven tongues of flame
Did shine o'er the lines of steel
By each shining blade, a prayer was said
That to Ireland her sons be true
And when morning broke still the war flag shook
Out its fold in the Foggy Dew.
'Twas England bade our Wild Geese go
That small nations might be free
But their lonely graves are by Suvla's waves
or the fringe of the grey North Sea
Oh had they died by Pearse's side,
or had fought with Cathal Brugha
Their graves we'd keep where the Fenians sleep,
'neath the shroud of the Foggy Dew.
But the bravest fell, and the requiem bell
Rang mournfully and clear
For those who died that Eastertide
In the springing of the year
And the world did gaze, with deep amaze,
At those fearless men and true
Who bore the fight that freedom's light
Might shine through the Foggy Dew.
Ah, back through the glen I rode again,
And my heart with grief was sore
For I parted then with valiant men
Whom I never shall see more
But to and fro in my dreams I go
And I'd kneel and pray for you
For slavery fled, O glorious dead,
When you fell in the Foggy Dew.
The Beaches of St. Valery by the battlefield band.
Quote[/b] ]It was in 1940, the last days of Spring.  We were sent to the Maginot line,
A fortress in France, built to halt the advance,
Of an army from a different time.
But we were soon overrun, out-thought and outgunned.
  Pushed further back every day.
But we never believed high command would just leave us.
So we fought every step of the way
Â
'Til the 51st Highlanders found themselves on Â
The banks of the Somme one more time.
It still bore the scars of that war to end wars.
The old soldier’s scars deep in their minds.
But we didn’t stay long for the Panzers rolled on
As the battle raged west t’wards the sea,
Until on June the 10th when sapped of all strength Â
  We entered St. Valery
Â
Chorus: Â
And all I recall is the last boat leavin’!
My brother on board waving and calling to me
And the Jocks stranded there wi’ his hands in the air
On the beaches of St. Valery
Â
So I huddled all night in a hammered old house
As the shells and the bullets rained down
‘Til just before dawn our hopes were still strong
For we moved to the beach from the town
But the boat that had left on the day we arrived
Was the last one that we’d ever see
An’ with no ammo or food we had done all we could
Se we surrendered at St. Valery
Â
Chorus:
Â
When I returned at the end of the war,
From the Stalag where I’d been confined,
I read of the battles the allies had fought,
  Stalingrad, Alamein, and the Rhine.
And with pride in their hearts people spoke of Dunkirk
  Where defeat had become victory
But nobody mentioned that Highland Division.
  They’d never heard of St.Valery
Â
Â
No stories no statues for those that were killed.
No honors for those who were gone.
Just a deep sense of shame as though we were to blame,
Though I knew in my heart we were not.
So I’ve moved to a country I’ve come to call home
But my homeland lies far o’er the sea.
I will never return while my memory still burns
On the beaches of St. Valery.
Finally, sky pilot by the animals
Quote[/b] ]He blesses the boys as they stand in lineThe smell of gun grease and the bayonets they shine
He's there to help them all that he can
To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man
Sky pilot.....sky pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
He smiles at the young soldiers
Tells them its all right
He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight
Soon there'll be blood and many will die
Mothers and fathers back home they will cry
Sky pilot.....sky pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile
The order is given
They move down the line
But he's still behind and he'll meditate
But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate
As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels tired and he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said
Sky pilot.....sky Pilot
How high can you fly
You'll never, never, never reach the sky
You're soldiers of God you must understand
The fate of your country is in your young hands
May God give you strength
Do your job real well
If it all was worth it
Only time it will tell
In the morning they return
With tears in their eyes
The stench of death drifts up to the skies
A soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot
Remembers the words
"Thou shalt not kill"
Sky pilot.....sky pilot
How high can you fly
You never, never, never reach the sky

Wow, this thread was well hidden.
I am planning on purchasing a TOP M60E4. Besides the fact that its expensive and heavy, does anyone know of any problems it has?
-
I played around with the suicide van and im having a problem. I can shoot out the tires before it gets close, but i cannot kill the driver. Am i doing something wrong?
-
There was a C4 bomb that did that a while ago. im checking.
EDIT: I think this is it.
-
Nice zombies. I needed something like this to make them seem a little more normal. Now if you can just fix the .9 dammaged civilian textures by replacing them with dead flesh textures youll have the unstoppable zombie.
sig limitedz: Nice pic. brotherhood of nod 4ever!

Quote[/b] ]it's great news, that bhd mod is still alive and functional!finaly, i can give you a video made by Discovery channel, it's "The True story of Black Hawk Down".
That was on History a day or two ago. I suggest reading the book if you have time, also try In the company of heroes, by Michael Durrant, the chopper pilot who was captured.

-
-
Nice work.
-
Looks very nice. Hope you can capture the feeling of standing under this massive beast. Its simply amazing.
-
-
Too bad. Thanks anyway for the cool boats.
-
Any chance of a plain grey version of these boats for less flambouyant smugglers?
-
Already saw the movie. Not George Romero's stongest piece.
-
Sorry if this thread is month or so old. I just saw land of the dead in full wardrobe complete with fake blood and ripped clothing. Just wanted to say that the movie is good, but not as good as the others. If you liked dawn ('78), you'll like this one. Big Daddy is one mean mother.
-
Nice movie choice for the dvd player. Now if only you can get it to play...
-
Does anyone know what happens after willard and lance return to the PBR and turn off the radio? Do they return, or go AWOL?
BTW: If anyones interested in Heart of Darkness but doesn't want to read, I have an Orson Welles radio broadcast dramatization of it. (One of my hobbies is collecting old radio broadcasts)

I can understand AN until after the village attack then I just loose track of WTF is going esp. when he meets Kurtz then I just get so pissed off that I want to kill Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando.(Yes I know Brando is dead R.I.P.) Speaking of Marlon Brando I saw a movie awhile back where he played a German Officer during WW2 but I forgot the name of it.Quote[/b] ]And that is fine. I respect your opinion...unlike your inability to accept my opinion of AN ÂThey meet up with the playboy bunnies, kill evryone on a sampan, stay at a french plantation, then they meet up with Kurtz. Sorry if i missed anything
-
Almost forgot about guns of naverone. Another great one is A Wing and a Prayer, about a carrier in action, filmed during the war.
-
Akira, you from @war?
Quote[/b] ]I think Gregory Peck also made some damn good movies too.Twelve O'clock high is one of the best WW2 movies.
-
I personally am a big john wayne fan. I liked the green berets, but i dont think it was a fantastic movie (just like i like Bill and teds excellent adventure). Its one of the only Vietnam movies that doesn't have americans killing civiesor one another.
EDIT: Wow, this things going like wildfire.
How to create a new island?
