Nice! Looking forward to seeing how these finish up. The default CSAT units aren't to my taste either. Good luck with it!

Looking good! Keep at it!

So if I understand you correctly you have an object (without fire or geo LODs) placed via setpos at the location of the incoming artillery round. The C-RAM then targets this object, not the artillery? What I would do is adjust your script for placing the object at the artillery round's location so it's slightly below the round. Then add a conditional loop to the script that only moves the object if it has taken no damage. Add a fire/geo LOD to the object and add enough armor value to it's config so that it can take a few hits from C-RAM ammo. This way, when the C-RAM fires on and hits your object, it will stop moving, which will make the artillery round colide with it, then you can delete this object via the script. Of course, you will have to experiment to find the right place to position the object in flight, and with the right size of the object. Good to hear you're making progress!

F/A-18 Super Hornet and Su-35S Flanker E

Thanks for your continued hard work and perseverance! I hope the RL events involve booze and women. -
If you've got the C-RAM following the target correctly, try then using the fire command. Although the AI might just be following the the target rather than targeting it with proper a lead. Keen to hear how you get on.

You Reyhard, are a scholar and a gentleman. A scholar for getting it done, and a gentleman for the MLODs so the rest of us can have a look at how it's done. I've had a crack at doing this myself, which failed utterly. Cheers!

Could be a problem with your weapons or the ammo. Try replacing them with vanilla BIS anti-air cannon ammo and weapons to narrow down the problem.

@roshnak I think soldiers react more realistically (if repetatively) to being shot in OFP. In A3 they just twitch. I mainly stayed with OFP due to the plethora of mods and familiarity. And in case you missed it: Also the mid-range terrain textures are basically the same as OFP, but the overall effect is worse as soldiers sink/clip into the ground as BIS's way of pretending they're partly concealed.

I apologise GDSN, my post was rude and obnoxious. We are in heated agreement.

What? If you have a problem with them, go and post in those threads. You're clogging up this one with nonsense. Several of those projects have not been released - eg the Osprey and C-130, nor the static weapons. Also neither the Nimitz, nor the Middle East Irregulars are Arma II ports.

Is it just me or does this mod change the tracer colours? -
Well said nettrucker. I bought Arma, wasn't that impressed but held out hope for patches, then along came Arma II (instead of repairing Arma), so I just went back to good old OFP. For a game that's been around in different iterations now for 12 years, it's annoying to suffer through the same bugs and limitations. In some ways Arma III has gone backwards past OFP. The ragdoll effect is nice when soldiers are killed outright, but I'd prefer a set range of animations for wounding than the awful twitching that goes on when you shoot ememies. It looks terrible. Also the mid-range terrain textures are basically the same as OFP, but the overall effect is worse as soldiers sink/clip into the ground as BIS's way of pretending they're partly concealed. And then there's the crappy vehicle damage model, the damn action menu, the poor optimisation... But I'm still here :)

It's a sad state of affairs when everyone is hankering for a mod to make the game enjoyable.

ArmA III Ballistics Overhaul

Some very interesting work here mate. It's very frustrating when an unarmoured insurgent takes four or five rounds to the chest to kill. So it's 'just' the values, no pbos overriding default BIS values? I don't know anything about which rounds are used in which various US/NATO 5.56mm weapons. Would an M4/M16 use a different round to a M249? What about those designated marksman 5.56mm rifles like the SAM-R and the like? Cheers -
The most disappointing thing for me is that there are solutions to a lot of these problems mentioned, yet they never get fixed, or in many cases even aknowledged. For example, this Zeus thing looks interesting, but with the glaring issues still present in A3, an additional gameplay mode just becomes another way to experience all of A3's bugs.
-
Shooting an enemy only alerts them to your presence, at which point they head shot you even as your own rounds slam into them.

It's almost like these forums are full of people who, I dunno, paid money for something that doesn't work the way it should.

Ha! Is that a Phys X feature? Don't bother mentioning any problems with fixed wing aircraft on here though, you just get shouted down with "this is not a flight simulator"! Cool song on your vid too.

+1 It would really help people who are trying to import Arma II MLODs into Arma III if you were willing to release the MLOD of your hmmwv to the community :) Cheers!

Many thanks for that Gnat. I greatly appreciate your help. I'm a bit pressed for time at the moment, but I'll get onto this the first chance I get. I really want to make some progress on this sucker. The only news I have to report is a couple of generic naval retextures of BIS helicopters.

I never played Arma II. I was so annoyed and disappointed that the issues with Arma I were never addressed, that I and a few mates just stuck with good old OFP. -

I wouldn't buy into any argument about BIS's "limited resources", seeing as they've got a spare 500k euro to throw at a modding competition. Besides, I'm a paying customer, not a school teacher looking to forgive a student because "the Greek justice system ate my homework". When I pay for a product, I expect it to do what it says on the box, no excuses. -
