THe whole concept of a "War on Terror" is at it's very heart, utterly absurd. Terror is an abstract noun, not a nation a race or a group of people The only way to win the "War on Terror" is to stop the war. No more war, no more terror. Wow they're some great looking weapons! Cant wait to try em out. Just a quick question. Will the ballistic values mean that the sight/crosshair markings work properly? What I mean is if you put the 600m mark (on the ACOG recticle) on a gentlemans head, 600m away, aforementioned head will go splat? I imagine you get tired of comparisons so forgive me, but that was my biggest let down with Lasers weapons, good as they are. Thanks you and keep up the great work.

Another option may be to create a M2 type machinegun class weapon at the players postion, which swivels the way a MG on a bipod would. You could remove the player's weapon and "moveingunner" him into the new weapon?

THe Invasion 44 mod released a demo with a machine gunner who does pretty much exactly what you suggest, although he has an assistant who carries the bipod. You can download it HERE

How about a config for JAM that uses the ICP models? That way all the addons that use East weapons have the beautiful ICP models instead of the standard BIS models (no disrespect BIS, but...). I have one basically done. If anyones interested.

I've been waiting for this ever since it was first mentioned by Hardrock (I think). It's a fantastic idea. Shame it's taken so long to get off the ground, but I hope it'll become as successful, accepted and USED as JAM is. Great news

Just had a look at that last video. Wow!!!! I guess, as stated that there may be some hit to FPS, but there's no ned to fill a whole island with these, just a few for the mission, ay?

I've had a read through a few pages here and I haven't found it mentioned that the acog sights seem to be a little off on the M4s. even out to 300m the bullets strike above the crosshairs. Also the M21 and SR 25 sniper rifles seem to fire tracer rounds I have the current version of the pack. Has anyone else noticed this? -
Looking great! How about a few fences and footpaths in the towns though? Just makes it feel a little more realistic I reckon.

Yeeeeees! You beauty!! Having lived in Japan for three years, not despite, added a little extra spice to the sweetest of victories! Those two clowns clattering into Schwartzer dont mean shit now ! I just got back from the local English bar, where I was told "Here is Japan. Don't celebration" by one of the locals, which prompted a solo rendition of Waltzing Matilda (Australia's unofficial and therefore more popular national anthem). Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Gday! I found this "TUTORIAL ON HOW TO MAKE A BARREL HIT SOMETHING FAR AWAY WITH DIRECT OR INDIRECT FIRE" by [email protected] on my HD (originally from OFPEC) and tried to give it a go, using this mortar addon. I think might be what General Barron based his infantry indirect fire script on... Anyway it works by determining the elevations required to hit a target at set distances. Both values are put through a non-linear regression analysis program ( ) to get the values of a,b,c,d,e you see in the script below An error occurs saying "Artillery dowatch[_tx,_ty,_high] Error type Any , expected Number". I changed Artillery dowatch[_tx,_ty,high] no luck.I then removed all the "_" things from the script (dunno why ) and I now dont get the error. But the first round always impacts the minimum distance from the artillery, then subsequent rounds always impact passed the target, not really bothering anybody as much as I'd hoped I noticed the values for c and d are negative, so I reversed the / and the * in the high=(((_dist^_b)*_a))+(_d*_dist)*(_dist*_e^_dist)/_c line with no luck either. This is a very interesting tutorial with great potential. If anybody wants a copy I can email it to you. Cheers

Thanks SelectThis! Your single keystroke of wisdom has opened new doors! Gday Cornhelium, I always like to figure out how to do stuff myself, even the little things. OFP is a bit like playing lego as a kid, just cant stop messing around with this and that. I'm right into ECP presently, so replacing models within JAM works well. Im going to have a crack at replacing all JAM weapons used by JJR's and DMA's middle eastern rebels, ie the AKMs, PKs and so on. Thanks a lot for your help and for your great work with JAM3 too

Having just had a little tour around and a few skirmishes on this island I have to say that it's fantastic. It has a great feel to it and it's obvious a great deal of work has gone into it. My only (constructive ) criticism is that there's no airfield (that I've found). Would be a great addition, even if not 100% accurate in real life. Top work EDIT: Ah for f$ck sake! I am destined to make a complete arse of myself on these forums I found the airport! -
I was wondering how to change the models that JAM uses. I know most of the models are the original BIS ones, except where there was no orignial eg AT4. For example, I changed the config to this... but it doesn't work.
