  1. It works on A10s, i tested yesterday to make the AA light up the sky. But as someone else said, make the pilot seperate and give hime the allowdamage false command. Cheers GC

    Print screen in game?

    I use print screen all the time for Arma and Arma2 in Vista 64. I made a .net app which sits in the taskbar and saves images to the apps atartup folder when you press printscreen. Cheers GC

    Ammo Crates in MP

    I was playing last night and came accross the same prob. It was a mission where you start off as civs, bit cak really, but there is a ammo crate at the start, and you dont have any weapons, so you need to take from the crates, therefore i didnt already have a gun. I still had to click 20 times, my mate also has the issue. If you do gear to a dead body, no such trouble. I hope this is fixed, it has been a major prob for a long time. Thats the problem when they say the engine has been in development for 10 years, there are 10 year old bugs as well. Cheers GC
  4. Anybody know where i can get this mission. Just want to add a couple of playable units and run it on my dedi. Mainly to check if it uses more than 1 core. Played a mission the other day and on a quad core, only seemed to use 25% of cpu. I know it would be easy to make, but im busy making my coop mission. I did search for the user, but couldnt find any mention of it. Cheers GC

  6. Dont use Waypoints. Download one of my missions, Operation Retrieval. From www.garycorp.com/arma. Unpack it and see how i did it. I have 2 teams spread across 4 littlebirds. Had them all land and unload. Cheers GC
  7. If you search the forum, you will find the syntax to count the number of allive ppl in a group and compare with the number of the group in the vehicle. Cheers GC
  8. Do you have to add the -cpucount=4 to use all cores of a quad core. I was running a dedicated server last night and noticed that it never used more than 1 core. 'Whats going on' as Marvin once said. Cheers GC

  10. This is how i have always used the Guard Waypoint. Very effective. I remember in the OFP days, i had a sniper on guard on a coop mission. Usually at the start i would find him and kill him. But the last time we played the particular mission, I couldnt find him, so carried on with the mission. Finally 2 hours later after the final objective, we were in a captured Ural heading for the extraction, and i lost 3 chaps to this one commie sniper. He had followed/hunted us down all the mission, until he caught up with us. What i have noticed though, is they only head to last known contact. So if you shoot and scoot, then they may never catch up with you. Cheers GC

  15. Installed last night, my Gameplay preorder arrived yesterday. Got it all configed up, and tried the Boot camp, stopped playing cause there was a bug on the range, where he kept failing me and started me off again without me selecting try again. Then when i left the range, its supposed to stop it, but it didnt. So i had a quick squiz in the editor. It is alot better than Arma 1. Sounds alot better. The bass coming out off my big creative sub, rocked the room when i launched a grenade. M4 sounds meatier. I have had no performance issues, but my pc is fairly top end, I7 940 @ 3.8, P6T Deluxe, 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHz (PC12800) DDR3, XFX Nvidia GTX 295, 8800GT as Physics card(Doubt its even thought about in this game), X-Fi Fatality. Installed on my laptop as well for mission editing at dinner at work. Had to knock the settings down. Its a 1.8Ghz core 2, Nvidia 8600GT mobile, 1 GB ram. But uts enough for editing. Will wait for a patch before I play the campain. Never played the campain of arma 1, cause it was buggy and crap emersion, so went straight to making Coop missions. Finished both OFP and OFPR and the rusky one also. Hopefully this one will be worth playing. Cheers GC

  17. Use the skiptime command. Set your intro, then skip time to your mission time. I used it in a old ofp mission years ago. But i agree, that there should be a section for intros in mp. That way people can easily turn them off, or skip on a mission retry. Would also make the intro more stable, as they could be run locally rather than on the mp. Cheers GC
  18. Have a look at the TimeOut section of the trigger (presume its still in arma2, was in OFP and Arma1). I wont be able to check until friday. But if the time out is set to say 10 secs, you would have to be in the trigger area for 10 seconds to fire the trigger, but if you moved out before 10 secs it wouldnt fire. The countdown works the other way, once you enter the area, it will countdown say 10 secs then fire regardless of whether you are still there or not. Cheers GC

  20. I was wondering if there are any readmes for the dedi server exe, like there were for arma 1. I want to update my Dedi Server tool and wanted to know if there was anything different? Only have one and a half weeks to wait for UK version, but wanted to start before release, as i be Coop mission making and playing SP campain once i get me hands on it. Cheers GC
  21. This is my new COOP mission. Operation Spearhead Download Here It needs 2 human players, each one as group leader.. You may get away with 1. Mission wont break, but you will get overrun if you only have 1 Human playing. No chance to test in SP. See readme for known probs, and issues. I am releasing this as v1.00, but i would say that if you find any probs or bugs let me know. It has been in beta test for a long time. But on the final beta test everything worked fine.     Ther have been reports that there is issues with op Spearhead and the sar_ru_architecture_finalz, as i used a earlier one in the mission.     Things ArmA II needs

    Noticed in one of the vids, a tank was hit, and did the old everyone stick jumps out when its knackered, then model turned black, then exploded. Can we please at least have the explosion before the model change. Also isnt it about time we had vehicle exit anims? Maybe in tanks everyone wouldnt get out after explosion, because they didnt have time. Also hope that Dedicated servers use more than one core. I have 3 doing nowt on my lan server when i run a coop misssion. After seeing the above post, reminded me how annoying binocs were. Accidently pressing b, wait 10 secs to get your gun back. (Feels like 10 when in a firefight.) Swapping to pistol should be much faster. In real life you would drop your rifle (think the m4s are clipped onto the grunts anyway) and go straight for your pistol. Finally what about a grot feature. the old silent kill would be very handy in stealth missions. Wonder if you can drag dead bodies as well as injured. Cheers GC
