    Please correct the hand position of most of the Pilots in Arma 2: in the helicopters (liks the Mi-24 or Ka-52) the pilot has both hands in the Joystick (Cyclic) and none in the Collective/Throttle and in the Airplanes (like Su-25) the pilot has both hands in the Joystick and none in the Throttle

    Arma 2 Addon request thread

    Hi, It's possible for someone to do the export version of the Mi-24, the Mi-35M (used by Venezuela, Brazil, etc...) I think that is not so difficult to do it since the main differences bettwin both helicopters are only: - Smaller Wing (with only 2 Pylons on each wing) - Fixed Landing Gear - X Look Tail Rotor (the same as the Mi28N) - Twin-barrel 23mm Cannon - FLIR - Exhaustion Heat suppressor - Upgraded Cockpit (see bellow) http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/7/8/8/1416887.jpg Cockpit PILOT GUNNER http://www.aereo.jor.br/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/mi-35m.jpg Basic Loadout - 450 23mm rounds for the GSh-23L cannon (3600 rounds per minute) - 16 AT-9 Spiral-2 (9M120 Ataka-V) Radio Guided AT missiles (8 on each wing) with 6km of Range (already in use by the Mi-24P ingame) - 40 S-8 80mm rockets (20 on each wing) (already in use by the Ka-52 ingame) Thank you!

    Joystick Problem

    Hi, I was playing with my Joystick (Win7 Ultimate 32bits) without any problem, but after I restarted my PC and tried to play again with it was not working anymore, it's working with all my games but Arma 2. Could anyone help me on that? Thanks

    T80 vs m1a1

    In OFP we have the M1A1, since the M1 have a 105mm gun, in the game we have a 120mm gun in the Abrams. T-80BV - 125mm+ ATGM (AT-11/SVIR) (better for close combat -> powerfull) T-72 - 125mm T-55 - 105mm M1A1 - 120mm (better for long range combat -> faster) M60 - 105mm ..

    It's a Machine Gun I think it's a 12.7mm.. the newest versions have a radar in the place of the mgun.

    T-80 vs M60

    Someone saw, that the new russian MBT, the Nizhny Tagil New Main Battle Tank or T-95, 'll probally have a 152mm gun!!! Somy info: *Crew protection on the tank will be emphasized to a far greater degree than ever before in Russian tank designs. The level of crew protection should ensure its survival when the tank is hit by any anti-tank munitions from any aspect or angle, thanks to the crew placement in a unitary armored pod inside the hull. *A unique drivetrain suspension system is being tested on this tank that to a certain extent extinguishes the hull vibrations and stabilizes its position. *The tank still remains in Class 50 (i.e. it weighs 50 tons) and it shall have an even smaller silhouette than the modern Russian MBTs. *The gun will be a 152mm smoothbore tank gun/ATGM launcher. The development of this system started as far back as end of the fifties for the heavy tanks (originally a rifled gun, probably M-69). The project was revived in the eighties and the gun was significantly redesigned. Even with ordinary powders a very high initial velocity of an APFSDS projectile is achieved. I could not, unfortunately, learn how the caliber increase is going to influence ammunition allowance and rate of fire. *This gun shall be located in an unmanned gun pod on top of the hull with no crew access to it. This is likely to increase survivability and lower the silhouette even further. The fire control system will be multi-channel (optical + thermal + IR + laser + radar). *The carousel autoloader goes away. *According to plans the crew will consist of a 3 man combat structure and one mechanic (not unlike the air force crew structure), who will be responsible for vehicle maintenance and will reside in a battalion service and repair company. -------------------

 anywho anyone who claims that ANY MODERN tank is better than another is totally talking out of their ass.. all the important things that make or break these tanks is classified.. so nobody here knows which is actually better...  never mind the fact that the T80 and M1A1 are designed to fight totally different kinds of wars.. as for the ERA.. perhaps it will stop a sabot round.. but it will only do it once..  thats always been the major downside of it.. when its hit it explodes.. the next shot will hit the skin of the tank and penetrate...  and with todays fast firing super accurate tanks its pretty much just as easy to hit the target twice as it is once.. lets take a hypothetile tank battle.. T-80 VS M1A1 in the most commin terrain.. which throughout history has been desert..  now.. desert=long view...  so.. give that the M1A1 has longer range than the T-80 because it favors the SAbot and its 120mm has a higher muzzle velocity than the T-80's 125mm which favors HEAT.. so the abrams would be able to fire at the T-80 before the T-80 could enguage it.. ok..  boom.. sabot rounds hits era BOOM.. sabot round is blown off.. tank lives.abrams still out of range of T-80.. abrams fires again.. boom... no more ERA to stop it.. SABOT hits tank.. tank crew has big problem. of course the T-80 IS NOT designed to fight this way.. its designed to fight in more gown up hilly areas with shorter view distances.. where it could fire its hopfully 1 shot 1 kill 125mm at ranges it can be effective at.. and in the sudden encounters that take place in such areas.. survicing the first shot can be a metter of winning and loseing because a 2nd shot usually wont occur.. because someone will be dead.. on a side note both the A1 and A2 can be fitted with ERA aswell.. actually anything can.. ERA is just (basically) explosive sandwiched between 2 armor plates.. you can pretty much stick it on anything..  but like I said.. it will only work for 1 shot. also one very very important thing to remember: if your side has air superiority.. a tank is the safest place to be..  if your side doesent have air superiority.. or it is contested.. being in a tanks is the LAST place you want to be.  I doubt that ERA or anything else could stop a mach 2 6 foot missle... or a 500 pound LGB... I remember seeing the footage from the M1A1 cameras... you would see the T-72... it would fire.. a few seconds later you would see its round hit the ground far short of you... you guess what happened next..<span id='postcolor'> " It is very important to note that while light ERA containers are completely destroyed in the process of detonation, Kontakt-5 sections are not, as their detonation is contained by the outside armor plates. Therefore even after detonation Kontakt-5 sections continue to provide some applique protection. "<span id='postcolor'> Yep, but once its gone, it's just simple spaced armour. An APFSDS hitting that same section wouldn't be affected at all.<span id='postcolor'> But. if the M1 for exemple fire first, and nothing 'll happen, the T-90 for exemple 'll fire back or Sabot ou an ATGM, and something 'll happen with the M1, and when the M1 fire back the T-90 Crew 'll turn the Turret so the M1 'll not be able to fire um the same place.. and when he fire, 'll be another negative impact, so the T-90 fire back or a Sabor or a ATGM, and something 'll happen again with the M1........ so the result probaly 'll be a T-90 victory.. Thats my opinion ..................
