Have to agree with you there, Hellfish. My experience in the army was spending half the time waiting for something to happen and the other half wishing it hadn't. When I wasn't in the field operating a radio I was in a comms center relaying messages from the field to command. The joys of army life... Off duty; jober as a sudge, or on report.. great days. Don't miss them at all. -
The Skyhawk will be remodelled and reskinned as the A-4K RNZAF colors soon and by a NZer. I wonder if these guys are going to model a Vietnam version of 1 Bn RNZIR and 161 Battery, plus the engineers and other support teams. The Grey Ghosts strike again!

Double sided plane: In O2 create a plane (flat panel) Menu: Create>Plane... While the plane is selected press w to reverse the selection Press F6 to create a new face Deselect the object then select it again and it should now have two sides.

Hi. Just nosing around and saw this. Yes, Dragofire did give the A6 for me to complete, and he sent me a cd full of resources and models to work on. While I am not officially working on any public release addons for the time being (apart from the Falklands Mod), the A6 is undergoing some extensive work and will be released later as part of a Vietnam pack. And the Prowler is among the pack too. -

Sorry drow.. looks like I missed your previous post. Shrubs and small bushes can be created quite simply by using double sided planes and plant texture files that have transparency. Trees are another thing all together. I will look into making a tutorial on how to create plants. Sorry this probably isn't much help at the moment.

Just wondering if any one else has this problem that after an OFP session on closedown CPU usage is around 100% and other programs are affected by this. My system is a P4 1.6 on an XP Pro OS and Geforce3 card. The SvcHost.exe runs at 99% after OFP closes. Is OFP shuttting down correctly and emptying itself from memory, as subsequent OFP sessions are laggy, to the point of non playable. A complete reboot fixes this.. Any suggestions?

Glad that it was a help indirectly. I just tried the Stinger and lo and behold I had a file called 'wupdated.exe' which is the w32/sdbot.worm gen virus (also known as the W32.HLLW.Moega). So there ya go. Thanks Toadlife.

It took a while.. but success. It seems my Stellar Addon Compiler Tool quick launch was the problem. For the programmers out there: I had a parameter wrong on the shellexecute function (VB API call) which meant the application was basically still running (supposing) after OFP was terminated. The more times I ran OFP from the launcher, the worse it got. After each running of OFP cpu usage has dropped to 0%. makes you wonder however how many other apps dont completely close. Anyway thanks for those who offered assistance.

Negative on the Nachi worm, Toadlife, Thanks. Will check the ACPI setting tomorrow. As for the Geforce Drivers they are up-to-date. Hmm will have to delve deeper I think.

Modeling damage for structures

AFAIK setobjectTexture and hidden selections don't work on buildings. Not sure about brideges tho. A suggestion. Create a second damaged bridge model and swap it with the good bridge when the bridge is destroyed. The crumpled building objects dont look all that good for realism, but hopefully that will be addressed in OFP2. Hope this helps. -
The pics of the Sea King were from my tutorial for animated chopper gear. The helo in the pic belongs to the Falklands mod and is still under construction. No-one, not even mod members have this addon as it is still alpha. http://www.dc3d.co.nz/Tutorials/gear.htm

Just opened a host portal for a game development team who call themselves Sine Pari. Their main interest is in developing their own game, but will also create 3d models for 3D game developers and  for interested people who wish to add models to games, but don't want to make their own. Their first OFP offering is a converted 3ds model MP5 which they claim they did not make but enjoyed playing with it in OFP that they decided to share with the community. I've had a play with it and I'm impressed as it fits in with the other MP5 arsenal from Inquisitor. Get the file from their downloads at: Sine Pari

After using the say command is there any way of turning the sound off. The example I'm using is a radio in a vehicle. Once I have turned it on I want to be able to turn it off, and be able to select a new sound.. like changing radio stations. Thanks

They have a WW2 game of their own under development as well as models for another company. I also understand they are working on the 3D sets for a yet to be disclosed Sci Fi film. I'm not sure of their plans with these so far. Its a bigger team than me on my own so hopefully some of the stuff will be released. When, I have no idea. That was just a conversion. They have been working on a couple of other OFP projects which includes an Sikorsky S-39B floatplane that looks pretty good. As I'm just the new kid on the block I don't have much say about what goes on, so I wont specualte when and if it will be released.
