    The story.

There was an awkward silence as the CD started to play some strangely recognizable music. Infact it was the smash hit single Dancing Queen by ABBA played backwards. This gave out the secret message that Mallory translated as meaning the CD wont work on the CD player, because programs cant be played on CD players and he would have to find a computer for this CD to work properly. Miller took the CD from the player, it slipped from his incredibly fat fingers and hit the roof of the tank that they were riding on. Glimpsing down at the CD Miller realised that the biro writing now looked like a 02 rather than a 05 because the CD landed the other way up. '02, surely that must mean something.' Thought Miller, as he spent the next hour and a half trying to pick up the CD.

    The story.

As it happened, the small object Casey pulled from his pocket was not actually Peter Pan as they had first feared. But, infact it was a small CD with the number 05 badly scrawled on it in biro. "This is it. This is the secret program, I am giving it to you, you know your mission, protect it at all costs." Just at that moment Casey realised that he was allergic to CD's, his hand started to swell and turn a hideous colour, he fell out of his wheelchair and onto the floor with an agonizing scream. Mallory bent down to next to Casey to see if he could help. "Casey! What happened? Are you ok?" Casey started to go cross eyed and started babbling in a high pitched voice. Miller then pointed out that it was best for Mallory not to kneel on Casey's groin as it might be the reason for Casey's high pitched mutterings.

    The story.

Presently they arrived at the restaurant that was situated below the cripples room. They grabbed a table in the corner by the window and ordered drinks. "So what's the signal?" Asked Mallory, as he gave his milkshake a sip through his limited edition, curly whirly, Malabo barbie straw. Just then Liz the waitress walked in. She was wearing her French Maid uniform as she had recently been working in Bordeaux and had no other suitable working clothes. She had brown hair, around 5ft.8, a trim figure and the kind of legs you could suck on for a day. She leaned slowly over their table and handed Mallory the menu. Miller looked into her deep blue eyes, twin eternal pools glistening in the candle light. But then he remembered his promises to his long lost lover, Detective Cook.

    The story.

Miller gave a groan. "Damn, why did I volunteer to test these composite helmets?" Unfortunately Cook wasn't wearing one and his brains splattered all over Millers shirt giving it a groovy 70's design. Just then a hand shot up from the pile of what was once the grimy room Miller had been drinking in. "Mallory you double hard man, I was wondering if your thick head could withstand that much punishment!" Screamed Miller. "Quick, we have to get to Casey's place! The dumb cripple may have fallen or something and the plan to capture the secret program could be ruined!" Exclaimed Mallory. Both staggered off through the cold, foggy streets of Prague in search of the cripples house.

To all aussies have a good anzac day

I would personally like to thank the Australians and the New Zealanders for their part in the wars. They came across the sea to fight for my country in a war that did not pose a direct threat to Australia or New Zealand. They fought from the start to the end with bitter determination and heroism. One thing that sticks in my mind when I was watching a documentry from the first world war, was one Australian saying that Britain was in trouble, and it was the right thing to do. I know a lot has changed since then and feelings of Britain in Australia and New Zealand must have changed a lot. But its that statement that makes me proud to be allied with such countries. "When you go home Tell them of us and say, For their tomorrow We gave our today.' The words inscribed on the memorial stones near the entrance to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission War Cemetery in Kohima, Assam, and India.

Your ideal position in a major conflict.

Helos are the wtg. Navy= it only takes 1 missle and yer gone. Infantry=cannon fodder, stuff to shoot at when your bored. Amour= ok, but your a nice big target and tanks are well known for burning.. Spec Ops=No backup if u get bagged. Fleet Air Arm= Fly out over the enemy with bad azz weapons shoot them 2 sh&t. Then retreat at 200mph back to your aircraft carrier which is nicely protected by every other ship in the fleet. I only envy the harriers because they can retreat at 800mph. The only other thing I would consider would be a sniper. Work alone, well hidden etc. Or a machine gunner in a well protected & dug in bunker.

Sorry to hear that I'm a big cat fan myself, I have 4. My sister experianced the same kind of thing when her cat got hit by a car, the guy was so nice he didnt even stop.. IMHO I wouldnt buy another cat straight away, give it a few days, maybe a week. Then suprise her by having the cat in the house so she see's it when she comes in.

    Anyone play silent hunter 2?

I have it, and Destroyer Command too. Its a fun game online but it gets very boring sometimes... 3 hours per game !!! Wouldnt be too bad if there was a little more action during those 3 hours. The game is buggy as hell and it wasnt worth 60 quid to buy both SH2 and DC. IL2 was around the same price, so was ofp and I think they are a lot better.

  22. http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=6063 Every year there are a one or two PC games that seem to come out of left field from a previously unknown developer that end up becoming popular and critical successes. One of those games in 2001 was undeniably Operation: Flashpoint. Created by Bohemia Interactive Studio and published by Codemasters, the military shooter set in the Cold War of the 1980’s broke new ground with its use of graphics, gameplay and mod design. Now Bohemia is working on the official expansion pack, Operation Flashpoint: Resistance, that will improve a number of aspects of the original game while adding new single and multiplayer game elements. HomeLAN got a chance to chat with Bohemia’s producer/designer Marek Spanel as he explains their plans for OpFlash: Resistance. HomeLAN - First, did you ever think that Operation: Flashpoint would be as successful as it has become? Marek Spanel - Never. But we’re really grateful because its success will allow us to create more great games and keep our creative freedom for years to come. HomeLAN - The mod tools that you have provided with the game have made Operation: Flashpoint very successful. What are some of your current favorite third party OpFlash mods and why? Marek Spanel - My favourite addons are the winter island and unit mods which started with mighty Kegetys‘ winter Kolguyev. These addons are usually well polished (maybe because they’re not trying to change the original content so much). I also like CSLA Addon with units from the former People’s Army of Czechoslovakia – mainly because of local patriotism. HomeLAN - What were the team's goals when they decided to create the expansion pack? Marek Spanel - We had three main goals: to create a new campaign that would surpass the quality of the original by introducing new gameplay elements; to improve the multiplayer game in a number of different ways, and to introduce some new fresh elements which will extend the Operation Flashpoint experience in general, like smoother more realistic landscapes and completely new weapon and vehicle classes. HomeLAN - Why did you decide to make the expansion pack a prequel to the full game? Marek Spanel - It just seemed like a very natural move. We didn’t leave the Cold War Crisis story in OpFlash open, so it didn’t feel right to try and write a continuation to it. At the end, we found it extremely good for the story of Resistance so we’re entirely satisfied. Isn’t it good to see General Guba or James Gastovski in their earlier days? HomeLAN - What can you tell us about the storyline for Operation Flashpoint: Resistance? Marek Spanel - The player is cast in role of a new hero, Victor Troska. Victor lives an ordinary civilian life (after many years in military service and numerous adventures) and he hopes to stay in it. When the Soviet army begins a military occupation of his homeland he has to decide: to fight or not to fight. Victor has the chance to rise in status through the ranks of the occupation resistance forces and to fight for his homeland and its freedom. The story has a lot more to offer than this, but you’ll find that out when you play the game. HomeLAN - How many missions will there be in the single player game and what will they be like? Marek Spanel - There’ll be around 20 missions for single player in the campaign and stand alone missions. There’ll be many different mission types but general emphasis will be more on the infantry combat than in the original game. HomeLAN - What new weapons will be put into OpFlash: Resistance? Marek Spanel - We believe the variety of weapons in OpFlash was pretty extensive and fans of the game are already able to do many different weapon modifications. We want to introduce a completely new weapon class to the game that will really improve the realism and gameplay. HomeLAN - What new vehicles will be featured in the expansion pack? Marek Spanel - We decided not to focus on introducing lots of vehicles that are similar to the ones in the original game. We believe that fans of the game are already creating many vehicles based on these classes. Again, we’re trying to introduce some new vehicle classes, like motorbikes, that will extend the variety of vehicles in OpFlash. HomeLAN - The graphics in the expansion pack are said to be an improvement over the original game. What graphical enhancements will be a part of the expansion? Marek Spanel - Many of the models are more detailed with higher resolution textures, especially on tress and foliage. All artwork on the new island shows improved detailed from the islands in the original game. Also the core graphics engine will have some more capabilities. HomeLAN - Will the original game be patched to reflect the graphic improvements in OpFlash: Resistance? Marek Spanel - Yes and no. We are not going to rework all existing graphics data of the original game because it would take years of work. But Resistance will introduce some engine improvements to OpFlash in general that will enhance the existing islands. To be more specific and name some of the new engine features, the terrain will be interpolated to a smoother shape. HomeLAN - What other new gameplay elements do you consider to be important and/or unique in the expansion? Marek Spanel - The ability to drop your weapon or to put it into car or ammo crate is definitely very important and is an example of the kind of additions to the gameplay we are making. Another important improvement is completely reworked and simplified interface in MP game lobby screens. HomeLAN - What new multiplayer maps and features will be a part of OpFlash: Resistance? Marek Spanel - There’ll be a couple of new mp maps set on the new island but the main enhancement is completely reworked netcode. There are so many changes we’re not exactly sure what all the benefits will be, but we really hope the new netcode will allow more units online and smoother gameplay. We’re going to start the MP Test of the new Resistance netcode soon, and every owner of Operation Flashpoint can join in with the testing. We believe the best results come from wide testing across the Internet. HomeLAN - Are there plans to release a stand alone demo of the expansion before it is released? Marek Spanel - Yes, but there are no details available at the moment about the exact timing. HomeLAN - Does Bohemia still plan to release new maps, vehicles, and other enhancements to OpFlash free over the net after the release of Resistance? Marek Spanel - We are considering various plans of how to further support Flashpoint after the release of Resistance, but it’s too early to confirm any of the details. I think the gamers may expect a lot of new content for the game from 3rd parties because in the future we’re going to give more support to 3rd party development teams and help them create completely new models and units for the game. HomeLAN - What is the current status of the expansion's progress and when can we expect Resistance to show up in stores? Marek Spanel - Resistance is planned for release on June 21st. It’s a great time for us, as will also be celebrating the first anniversary of Operation Flashpoint. HomeLAN - Finally, what's next for Bohemia Interactive? Will the team make a full fledged sequel to OpFlash or will they make an all new game as some rumors suggest? Marek Spanel - We are looking to create some more great games and every project we work on in the future may have some similarities to OpFlash – just because that’s where our technology and experience in design is, and that‘s how we do games. It’s possible we’ll develop a full fledged sequel to OpFlash one day. We have a clear vision of what our next game will be but right now we‘re focusing all of our attention on Operation Flashpoint: Resistance.
