  1. Well, i have tested my maps with OA running arma2 as mod and they work without problems. On the other hand i think most people having bought OA also have Arma2 and the few others may buy it when it is available for little money. For example steam has an offer for 14,99 atm and i think others will follow.
  2. @ Minimalaco: Very nice video.... at least someone is using my map:D by the way.. the song you have chosen is quite funny since the guy singing it is called "Heino" and he is known to sing songs that are mostly liked by very old people. @flaringo: Can you find any of the things you request anywhere in Arma 2? But i´ll assure you the mod team is working very hard on a realistic as possible dammagesystem. So you might be surprised in the one or the other way....:) just be patient...
  3. Well... the grid size determined in one of the very first steps of islandcreation. I don´t know how far you have done your map by now... maybe its an option to redo your map with a smaller gridsize and a heightmap with higher resolution. As far as i know you can change the gridsize of an island with a tool called "Roller". You can find it over at dev-heaven: http://dev-heaven.net/news/show/1 but remember, you can reduce gridsize down to one meter but that will result in a big performance hit and crashes if Viewdistance is set to high(tested that with my nome island). So maybe you may test your island before you decide which resolution you choose. hope that helped

    Lack of multiplayer teamwork.

    Well... in my eyes there are some reasons for lacking Teamwork. 1. Many people are unable to subordinate to a commander and try to do the job they are given cause they think they are "Rulors". 2. Most of the medics are just medics to heal themselves. 3. There are still too many people who are just hunting frags e.g. snipermedics laying somewhere alone in the forest far from the objective. 4. Many people insist on driving a tank alone which is stupid. thats some of my experiences.... but i still enjoy playing multipayer..

    World Tools preview

    Wow... i´m really impressed. Right now i´m not in the stage of using this tool but for shure will use it in my future work. It´s a pity that theese kind of tools give so much to the community in the end but everybody only admires the results. Noone cares about the screwdriver the Porsche was built with... please keep up your work...
  7. Hi cleggy... don´t know if your problem is solved meanwhile. Why do you want to use the material editor to apply a texture to a box? Try this: 1. create a box in oxigen 2. select all 3. go to faces - face properties 4. in textures select your texture 5. in material select your rvmat 6. apply 7. deselect and start viewer 8. lay back and admire your work...:) hope that helped and i didn´t miss your problem

  9. @cleggy: you just have to apply your texture and rvmat to the faces. @baraka: go in the firegeoLod, mark the parts you want to assing the material to, choose faceproperties, choose rvmat in ca/data/penetration ...remember you have to have components in firegeoLod. hope that helped

    Adding in town names

    Hi ebanks, you just have to add keypoints via visitor. After export of the map you will find a yourmap.hpp in your map directory. Open that, copy the content and paste it into you configfile like this: class Names { class Hill_400 { name="Hill 400"; position[]={9869.61,5121.2}; type="Hill"; radiusA=100; radiusB=100; }; ....etc }; hope that helped
  12. Do you have any other islands loaded which are using the same clutter classname or config? I had this problem when using two of my islands which had the same clutter config.. the clutter was gone.

    Summervegetation

    Hi Madmardigan, i don´t think that there will be a winterplantpack out in the near future unless somebody wants to do it. But if you want winterplants, you could try the ones from my "betons addons 1.47" which i used on Hurtgenwald or maybe ask raunhofer if you can use his plants from Thirsk island.
  16. Well, as i wrote in the readme of betons addons 1.47 the compatibility to the nome islands is not guaranteed anymory since i was assuming nobody uses this maps anymore. If more people are interested in using the "Nome" maps i could try and update them. Normally, when a map crashes immediately after start this is a hint of problems with the clutter. I have changed some of the clutternames for better overview so the nome maps can´t find the desired files anymore.
  17. @shaggy: sorry for my late reply, haven´t been at home in the last days. Maybe you could try and delete the Hürtgenwald and the betons addons in the 31stwwa2 because they are older versions. You should also have a closer look if the folderstructure of hürtgenwald and betons addons is correct. hope that helped... @imutep: yes some classnames have changed, just have a quick look into the config of bet_militia they are easy to find... sorry for that

  19. Well maybe you have to hit the find components button again, select the whole model and give it a weight/mass... somewhere in the lower left corner.
  20. Well, i´m definitely no texturegod. When i made groundtextures for my maps i tried to make them nopx but did not find a way to make them look nice. So i sticked with nohq and i think they do the job as well as nopx. If anybody knows how to make nopx with gimp... please make a tut...gms?? but we are going oftopic i think

    VF Ladder Addon

    Well this addon is very cool... just imagine using this in pvp. You have to team up with a guy, one is the sniper, the other one carries the ladder. That would be great..

  24. I think homer is right with the 2^n resolution setting. It was discussed some time ago somewhere. So better use 1024 or 2048 for your height and sat,mask in 10240 or 20480. If you don´t want to resize your island, just put the small image in a big one... it is only water anyway.
  25. Hm.. not shure but maybe you have used an uncommon terraingrid. I think most islands use 1024, 2048 or 4096. Maybe you try and resize your sat, mask and heightmap data and try again... maybe that helped
