  1. Well thanks I looked at what you sent me and then took a breifing from another mission so yes I created it But I should still need to create triggers for the status of each objective yes? so that it updates and sets the next objective?
  2. Ok so wait a minute I am trying to write a trigger are you saying that the trigger I am trying to create is not going to work because we do this entirely different? The Page your showing me I'm not sure how to go about setting up these tasks having them number or set them in an assemblance of order.   3. I been trying to follow these instructions and wound up with an error I didnt used to get and that is Variable ion_dsm2_cm_curctrl does not support serialization and should not be stored in mission name space When using the RTE can i use both editors??? Id like to learn more about this thing.
  4. I have been using the grass cutter I think it came in one of the editor addons I am not sure I might have un pbo'd it but I have been using it like crazy I do wish I could make it larger at times so I didnt need to place so many if anyone knows how to do that or if another one gets released.
  5. If some of these AI are on bases and things you can despawn them as you drive away as well as spawning AI enemies as you get nearer to them
  6. I got a tutorial on how to define points of an airport to make it work the tutorial seems to talk to the map maker rather then someone who is suing an exsisting map. I want to just add an airport here and there whenever I feel like it in a default map Questions are 1) any limit to the amt of airports needed? 2) Can I just make air strips Or do I need a taxi way cause I really dont see a taxiway in the editor tools 3)Can I alter the defaul cpp.cfg? Thanks

    How long and wide do they need to be? I mean one piece in the editor is quite large I was hoping to be able to drop in a few dirt airways which were good for tatical reasons but not full blown airports by any stretch and yes as you said finding really flat areas sucks
  8. Thanks so much for the mission fel I am going to load it as soon as I start playing tonight.   10. One of the things I read somewhere in these forums that I thought was pretty amazing is theres a way to spawn things as you need them I mean entire villages. So Im of the opinion from what I read you could make a big functiuonal base with AI animations cutscenes and whatever else spawn your player there take off on a mission and it would despawn, then as your driving to your mission on the map make the objective village spawn, thus improving performance in a very big way and allowing mission makers to go all out. I however am still quite the Noob and cant tell you how to do that I just know it can be done.
  11. Big Dawg Im not opposed to using anything, I would gladly use the setvelocity I just need to know how to do it. While I am talking to some people that actually know about this can anyone tell me or do you know what goes into making a FUNCTIONAL runway in the editor. What I mean is I want to be able to lay one down where ever I want with my own custom buildings and have it work I remember back when I used to play we could lay one down but it didnt work is that still the case? Im wondering because with the new desert map I am thinking maybe thats been fixed? Big Dawg if you know How I can script the F35's or Harriers to do Vertical takeoffs with the SetVelocity script I would love to get my hands on it. I am reading the capture play and will try it but I am still kind of a noob again have never really written a script.

  13. I want to use the capture/play functions I was now asking about this aircraft because It allows us to do Vertical take offs when a human player uses them. I really am asking about these vertical takeoffs so much because I want to utilize an airport that I make and not worry about the direction of the runway and or how to fix the runway to get it to work. Unless maybe you know that we can now lay them down in this new release and they will just work?

  15. ok so can a f35 do a vertical take off I record it and make harriers work (clears his throat) haa hmmm you know they way they should, I want to make the AI do it and Im having an issue with it.
  16. Ok what about this unit capture / play thing I read some of it why cant I get an F35 to do a vertical takeoff with the AI do I need some command for the vertical take off I should be able to put that aircraft anywhere and have it work?

  19. I dont know what any of that is?? I really try to take example missions and implement them into things until I get the hang of the syntaxes when I look stuff up
  20. we must have just missed each other lol you got all three links now one fro download and two research links I personally think if these can woork in Arma 2 and OA they are huge for mission makers.

Ok if I use the editor and pop down a home made runway will the planes work? because I remember when I used to play that was a real joke put hours and hours into making some hot shit airport only to find out its not going to function as one ever LOL I think there are ways to do it now but you have to be good at scripting. I found this addon at armaholic called Mando Airfields and downloaded it unfortunately the example missions for it are from queens gambit which I do not have so I dont think theres anyway for me to view a mission from an island I dont have? its from an island .sara.. Anyways this addon allws you to add in vertical take offs to make your harriers look and work as they should and allows you to set in markers for regular takeoff and ladings to occur anywhere you want as long as the terrain is flat. I dont understand why this isn't a hugely popular addon with all of the capabilities this offers. Unless in my absence there is something better that allows the same thing. Anyways do any of you have this or have used it?
  24. Why is that the harrier is a vertical take off and landing plane that is what it does? They have never fixed that? Well whatever I can't believe that hasn't been addressed I really wish I could figure out these mando airport scripts that would fix it
