    Tbird, Its nice to see you going back to your roots man, I can't wait to see what will happen with the FFSX 1985, I think everyone is looking forward to your latest and probably greatest work. Just to let you know if you need any help from me, all you got to do is ask (I'll always be there for help, Beta-testing, coding etc.) I think I know the basic unit layout (Models, Weapons, Vehicles etc.) - US Soldiers: HYK '85 Woodland Soldiers, SpecOps. - US Weapons: M16's (SJB, LSR, CSLA), M1911's (SJB, LSR), LAW's (LSR), M47 (Combat), HK's (SJB, LSR). - US Vehicles: M1A1 (Sigma-6), M60 (Sigma-6) , M113A2 (Combat), Vulcan (REM), Jeeps, 5T Trucks (Marfty). - US Air: A10's (Diesel), Cobra (VIT), AH-64A (Marco-Paulo), CH-47, Blackhawks (CSLA), F15 (Footmunch). - RU Soldiers: RHS '85 Moter Infantry (Probably '85 VDV) - RU Weapons: AK74's (RHS), RPG-7 (Orcs), PK (RHS, CSLA). - RU Vehicles: T-80 (RHS, Orcs, CSLA), T-72 (RHS, Orcs), BMP-1 (Orcs, CSLA), BMP-2 (CSLA), Urals (Spetz natz Mod), UAZ (The Sun), Shilka (Orcs). - RU Air: Mi24 (RHS, CSLA), Mi17 (OWP), V-80 (BIS), SU25 (Tomi-D). Of Course I'm just guessing, What you decide to use is your choice, But whatever the units will be I'm sure that they will be correct and realistically loaded out with '85 era equipment etc. Looking Forward To Seeing This.     Hi All, The Patch is turning out to be a nightmare, but I will finish it. With regards to how its becoming a nightmare, Rugby has been though and I've had a small case of Insomnia which has been keeping me up all night, every night. Lets get back to business. Thank You very much. @KYLE_K_SKI I will look into the extra pack errors, It seems like your the only one who has problem with the extra pack, I will reinstall the extra pack myself on my system and test every option that is available to see if I get the bugs that you are reporting. Thanks for your efforts man, The more help the better. Well As Its Monday Night (RAW), I'll be up to about 5AM Irish time, So I'll have a lot of time to work out these bugs, change a few small things and hopefully get a 95% bug free mod going.     Modern Combat Mod - SLX Released

    Hi All, The Second patch is coming on nicely, It will be a full patch because some users had some trouble with the v1.01 patch (meaning you will not need the v1.01 patch to use the v1.02 patch). With regards to some of the reports posted over bugs and inconsistencies I've look into and I believe that it may be an incomplete patch upload by me that may be of fault, From what I can figure out, All the errors except for ones concerning the US Marines are already fixed in the v1.01 patch. That is way I willrelease a full v1.02 patch that will include the main loading screen and the main menu GUI display the version of the mod that is being run. Concerning the most recent reports all have been fixed and are now being tested by myself to find any other errors, The extra pack will be fixed if there are any other problems with the version. If you downloaded patch v1.01 and experienced no changes please make sure that you extract the @MCM-SLXv1.01patch.rar file into the Operation Flashpoint Main Directory (Not the @MCM-SLX Directory) and overwrite all files it asks you to. To run the Extra Pack extract the ExtraPackv2.rar file into the @MCM-SLX Main Directory and overwrite any files it asks you to then just run the install.bat file. The Speed in patch v1.01 was changed slightly and it seems alright, It will not be changed any further. The Extra Pack just contains some extra options like new sky, Resistance Buildings replacements, SLX Fire and Smoke and updated flags etc. The Main Loading Screen and Main Menu GUI will display the Mod version number now. That is indeed the way to install both updates, I don't know whats wrong, the new patch should fix any issues. Concerning the SLX Suppressive fire, in the mission clean sweep my character always hits the deck and takes cover even if he is not been directly fired upon. It works well for me. I'm now using the recent SLX_GL3_Setting.sqf file so it should work for you in the new patch. Configs with the SLX Everon, Malden will be included in the new patch, The other options you pointed out would be a lot harder and more time consuming to accomplish. If I figure all these small bugs and get time I might look into the matter further. Strange, For me the L Shaped Bar appears without the glass in the window, as do all the original BIS buildings with Glass Windows. Fixed, It was the same problem the Marines were having. Error in magazine names. Well all the T72, T80, T90 and BMP1 were provided by ORCS, maybe it just the way the APC's are built in the Russian Military. I know the US Military tries to make their APC's a bit smaller than there MBT's in width but not height, maybe the Russians like their APC's the same general size as their MBT's. Folks that all I can report for now, all the bugs listed are being looked into and I will get back to you when the patch is nearly released. Goodnight, Big-Rooney

    Well I guess the patch wasn't as effective as i thought, I will get onto the errors immediately and release another full patch as soon as I can. Thanks for your opinion Tarik, If you could provide a picture for the main menu GUI I will happily implement (I'm not into Photoshop). Will look into it, Thanks for noticing. LATE, I was up to 5 last night working on this but its worth it, please just make sure you installed the patch, I will check all of this anyway. 1: As the M202A1 is an external addon I can't guarantee it will work with my project, I will still work on finding a solution to the problem. 2: Please explain in detail. 3: The GUI and loading screen provide the project status already up at the top of the screen. 4: Will fix immediately. 5: I'll look into the problem and fix if necessary. 6: Will again look into it, Will try to find sources of problem. 7: Same answer as 6 above. 8: SLX Grenade delay scripts replace the model with a standard grenade model, I will try to work around this. 9: Will implement US grenades as standard hand grenades and Russian Grenades as others. 10: Will introduce option to use the SLX grass islands in separate configs. 11: Suppressive fire was not changed by me, I only enabled it from the SLX_GL3_Settings.sqf file. As I stated above I will look into the movement speed error. I will implement the most recent SLX_GL3_Settings attributes to bring it up to date. Thats all for now, I'll post updates as soon as I can, I will put all available free time into finding these errors and stamping them out. Cheers, Big-Rooney.

    Only a few hours left hopefully, A link will be provided when the patch is released. Please Be Patient, the power is down in the area where I live, so there might be some delay, It will be a large .Rar file that you will just need to extract into your Operation Flashpoint Folder for it to take affect. GD Mast, Your observation is noted, I have changed the version to the M40A3 from kurtz. Changed it about 2 days ago. But thanks anyway Answered above.

    Ok Folks, The patch I've talked so much about over the last few days is nearly finished, should be about 24 hours. Sure thing, First Right Click then click New then click Shortcut, then enter this C:\program files\Codemasters\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -nosplash -nomap -mod=@MCM-SLX, then name the shortcut and thats it. (Make Sure Thats The Correct Path To Your Operation Flashpoint Folder) Thanks, The dragging wounded sounds have been fixed, the Military Forces have been changed to the HYK OPFOR soldiers for realism purposes. Well I believe that the VDV is the Russian version of US airborne troops. Armor is provided for the VDV and naval troops, light vehicles like cars and transports will be included. Such an error doesn't occur, Please check that your shortcut pathway is correct: C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.exe -nosplash -nomap -mod=@MCM-SLX = Standard Path.     Hi All, The patch is coming on nicely, all the known bugs are being taken care of, some reworked files are also going to be included. I Thank you Cameron, But I don't think you failed in OFP, Your units are brilliant and your help was vital for many people. Jonny's SF's are great quality, but they don't really fit in with the HYK ACU soldiers, they were made to fit with CameronMcDonald's ACU soldiers. That's true, the visual beauty of HYK units is great. It will be changed accordingly. As the Llauma head is standard, such an undertaking would take time, I will of-course will attempt to get the BIS heads onto the new units, this will rely on external help and support and permission from the addon authors. I will indeed look into this bug, the weapon you speak of is indeed a very good addon. Well that's all for now, Thanks for the reports. I'll add these to the list of enhancements and bugs and will act on them immediately. Big-Rooney

    Hi All, Thanks for the kind words and bug reports, I new i missed some small things, nothing appears to be major problem that a small patch can't fix. The frame-rates are acceptable, you might get a slight pause at the start of any mission, but that's due to the SLX scripting system. Thank you very much. Thanks Tbird, I had a feeling you'd spot that, I'll adjust accordingly. Thank You, I will indeed look at the M40A3, the M24 was only temporary for the Marine sniper. Thanks very much, I'll look into the .PBO extension see if it's on my end, Thanks for reporting. The coding and acquiring of the files was pretty hard, the hardest part was making it good enough for all you folks out there, you are the people that make OFP great after all. With regards to TB, He is very talented and if it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't have started modding in OFP. Heh, can't explain how I missed that, but thanks for spotting, I fix that immediately. OK, I'll start with the negatives. 1: Strange when I lean I hear a sound, Will look into it. 2: In the missions you specified, the unit is equipped with impact grenades not time-delay grenades. But if you wish all grenades where time fused, just enter the grenade name into the GL3_Settings file in the main folder an they will be. 3: Yes this is because the SLX islands are named Eden, Abel. The same names as the original BIS islands. I will fix and give the ability to use the SLX grass islands as the default. 4: I think thats because i'm using an older replacement pack, I will download the newer window free one and install. 5: I will look into this matter, standard soldiers will move a bit slower while larger soldiers (MG's, AT's) will move alot slower. 6: The Suppressive Fire script might be deactivated, look into the SLX_GL_Settings file and look for SLX_NOSuppress=1 place two // in front of it //SLX_NoSuppress=1 than suppressive fire should than work. 7: I will include a flame script on the fires. Melee Combat was disabled in the slx_gl3_settings file while I was testing the mod, I will put it back in. It follows the same pattern as the Suppressive Fire, SLX_NoMelee=1. Use the same system if you wish to fix it yourself. On The Positive Side: 1: They do use there grenade launchers a lot, put a few squads near each other, they'll just grenade, take cover, fire, grenade, shout, fire, and when the battle is over they start to find wounded and pull them away. 2: This feature is not well optimized, I'm surprised they do it at all. 3: Thanks, just wanted to mount/dismount on all weapons. 4: Thank Solus for that one, His work not mine, but thanks anyway. 5: Thanks, The intro anims from the original game didn't really show what OFP was all about. Thanks for the reply, The extra pack was just for sky, flag and building replacement. Thank you all for the replies and kind words, I will get onto any of the bugs listed above and a small patch will be released to fix the errors. On another note I will be releasing a small additional file that will allow you to use the US Army Soldiers in BDU (Not ACU) I know its not modern or realistic but some people prefer the old BDU's.

    Does this mean that you used his method where he replaced the default heads with Llauma's so it would be script free? Yes, in a way, The Llauma heads are standard. He also helped with some O2 help.

    @MP_Phonix I believe that replacement was in the Y2K3 Mod and it worked pretty well, using the military and civil versions. @Schulz A civilian version must be provided aswell as the resistance PV3S is a civilian PV3S with the term FIA printed on the side and back. So if the kamas has a civilian version it could be used.
  17. My vote was for the Invasion of Iraq in 2003, but i'll be happy with any result. I've a strange feeling for an FFUR thats not based around east vs west more like east vs far east - Russia vs China. A war of the future, The next big war this worlds will see will not involve the US initially.

    Hi All: Nice to see some interest still in OFP, concerning the release of the mod, I've now implemented full woodland, desert and winter islands with full US military woodland, desert and winter vehicles and soldiers. Also Implement is the Local Army, Guerillas to both sides and now i hope to implement: (maybe in a patch) Â Â - Heavy transport choppers for both sides (CH53, MI-26) Â Â - Redone Local Forces (HYK '85 era US soldier models) Â Â - Large transport planes for both sides Like marcomio said, ArmA is still buggy and hasn't really reached its potential, so until it reaches its full potential I will continue to play OFP (and I have ArmA).     Hi All! For anyone who is still interested in this mod, I've decided to release the work i've done with it so far. This will include an already fully-implemented bug-free combination with the latest SLX mod by Solus, full implemention of current US and Russian equipment, weapons, men and vehicles. Implemention of other branches of the respected militaries, incl: US Marines, US Airforce, Russian Marines, Russian Airforce and many others. I hope to have the mod ready before the week ends. Even if this doesn't interest anyone I will still release it. The community is falling apart around us all. My only addition to the community will be this mod.     Sanc. Very nice stuff, the res side army soldiers are brilliant. Is there any kind of release date for the next release. I lost track of this topic for awhile but found it and downloaded it again, so im up to speed with v3.0 and the extra packs, waiting on the next release. P.S I would like to thank you again for your support with O2, really got the jist of it thanks to you.

    Yeah, there was. So the retreating enemy didn't break BIS missions and campaigns. The SLX file is editable to your liking and tastes, so if your bugs are with the SLX settings, just try changing a few settings before posting on the forums, you might just solve your problems without any support from the forums.

    I feel like strangling you. TBird has converted all the models faces from the rather crappy facestex/llauma heads (As used in GRAA) back to BIS models. Go play GRAA if you want a bunch of plastic GI Joe/Action Man heads. Next person to suggest plastic fantastic heads gets a slap with 12 gauge buckshot. WHAT BLAZIN! The original BI heads are crap (no offence to BIS), they don't fit the the models, the Facestex2 head is a more realistic shaped head, it looks more human. I suggested the use of them also before the mod was released, I'll be waited for that 12 gauge

    Whats Up Tbird, I've Been Gone For A Few Days And When I Come Back You Hit Me With All This Shit, I Haven't Had Time To Read All The Reports And Pages So I Missed Out On Beta-Testing, Doesn't Really Matter. Nice To See Some Serious Updates In The Mod Looking Really Nice, That Stryker Models Looks The Shit. Hve You Given A Thought To Adding Desert Military Vehicles For The US Military, They Involved In Mostly Desert Operations At The Moment. Anyways What You've Done To The Mod Is Really Intense And I Am Very Impressed And Glad That You Showed The Heart And Commitment To Stay With Even As The OFP Community Is Crumbling Around Us All. So Heres To You Tarik, For The Excellent Job And The Future Excellent Jobs Your Going To Do. Thanks Man, Really Gave My Gaming Life A Boost. Cheers Big-Rooney (A TB84 Fan)
