FFUR 2006 2.0 Total conversion pack
Blazen replied to Thunderbird's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
TB will there be an update to why people die multiple times in multiplayer games when shot by numerous rounds all at once? This is causing peoples corpes to stay alive while they spawn all bugged in missions. Then once the first corpse despawns everything returns to normal. Anyone else expiriencing this? I can only assume that it is due to the life meter and the fact that it buggs out sometimes, but I could be wrong. -

Here's a nice LITTLE bug. the stationary machine guns for the west side are .50. The Blackhawks have .50. All of the Tanks have .50. The M113 has a .50. and there's no sound in this mod for a .50. Almost every vehical in this mod has not sound for a .50 on the west side! Not only that but the G36 on the west side also has no sound. Trying to make a decent mission out of a bunch of addons that have been edited with .50cal with no sound is like ripping the hair outta my bald head! -

It's been said that the MP config will be coming out soon as well as an ACU config. I found another bug last night that greatly effects the MP gameplay aspect of this mod. When you eject from the A10 shrapnell flies everywhere causing lagg that even high end computers have a hard time handeling. -

I'm currently working on a working CTI for FFUR2006 on the KaoS-Squad server. I've almost finished it, although I've had to add about 5 addons and change alot of the MFCTI1.16 scripts to run it. Stay in tuned I'll have a working package and missions available very soon. I am however leaving the server up on demand from FFUR fans as well as team mates. If you want to try it out yourself the links are available for the extra addons once you join the server, for the addons needed to run the mission. There are several addons in the FFUR mod that are not dedicated server friendly, so making the CTI for this mod has been a very slow process. However I think I can have it completed and begin to make missions for other Islands by Sunday. Don't quote me on that but we're working hard to pull some really good CTI's out using this mod -

I like the new FOV and I haven't heard any complaints about it from people that join our server. I think it's great that FFUR tried to make the game more realistic looking from a first person viewpoint. I like the fact that you can see more of the weapon and still zoom way in to pinpoint a close target without aiming. As far as I know the M4 and the M4A1 are from the LSR weapons packs and those are the models available for use in OFP. Damn good models IMO at that! I've seen the different color M4's however not as in addon for use with OFP. If you know of one or somthing better than that which is currently in use, post it. I'm sure others are interested in seeing these models as well as am I. -

I'm not sure who the Ress BMP was made by that is giving the 16x256 aspect ratio. However the SpecOps used in this mod are TQB special forces that have bad textures of 512x32. -

I noticed that dead AI will somtimes move around and shoot at you. I also noticed that somtimes if your bleeding out it will stop and you'll appear dead but you won't be able to die or move! It's a very rare occasion because it only happened to me once. However I hope that this issue with the dead coming back to haunt you is due to the life bar that TB has already stated will be removed. -

I have found the 3 addons causing the texture aspect ratio error. There's a RessBmp that causes the 16x256 The other two are west side troops. One is the BlackOp and the other is the Miner. These two are the cause for the 512x32 error. Exclude them from you missions and you can run this mod on dedicated server. I sure hope TB can get a fix for these units in the next patch because the BlackOps for the West side sure do look VERY nice. I was almost dissapointed when I spawned one in game and the server crashed lol. However I am glad that I have found the units causing the bad aspect ratios. -

Got the first working CTI up on the KaoS server today without any errors or crashes. It was an edited version of the MFCTI1.16. The only way you'll get yer missions to run on Dedicated server is if you: 1. take out all ress bmp from scripts and missions.sqm 2. make missions without the ress bmp I still haven't found the 512x32 bad addon, but I think sombody did in a previous post Keep up the good work guys, with a little work this mod is definitly the greatest ever to come out in the OFP community IMO! -

ya the CTI's run fine on LAN. However they do not run at all on dedicated server. I did find one of the addons with bad texture ratio: The ressistance BMP1. -

Oh yea as far as CTI goes. This mod will not currently run with any CTI available atm. I found crCTI to be the laggiest of all the CTI's while running FFUR2006v2.0, MFCTI comes in a close 2nd for lagg factor, and Zscti was the least laggiest, but unfortunatly it's still in the beta versions. Until the texture aspect ratio is fixed and the MP config is released we will not know how this mod will do on the CTI field of battle. -

Yea I've tested the 2.0 version on several different cit's including the zscti which I've been testing all day today. I found that there is a texture aspect ratio problem with one of the ressistance units. I wish I could specify but unfortunitly I don't know which unit it is. There is also a problem with the texture aspect ratio's on some of the air units. This is the cause for the dedicated server crashes. It's because some of the addons... not many, but some are not multiplayer compatible. Unless they are updated with a patch, these addons will not be used in multiplayer missions. Also somthing else I experienced was dead body's shooting and moving around. I found this to be true in several different missions while playing both lan and on dedicated servers durring multiplayer games. I'm sorry to hear that the health bar will be removed. Although I've had speculation as to the dead bodies moving around and shooting having somthing to do with that. Good to see you guys are working hard to make this mod run good. FFUR Keep up the good work! -

As was stated in the release forum, the death anims were causing CTD's and had to be changed. 1. The problem with some of the mounted machine guns loosing sound is an old ammo problem that ofp has had for a long time. For some reason mounted machine guns such as the one on the M113 when fired will somtimes bug out and give you infinate rounds. When this happens the sound cuts out from the weapon completely and this may be the cause for other mounted weapons to lose sound. 2. Grenade launchers do not leave smoke trails behind grenades, as stated previously I think. 3. All other sound problems that people are expirencing are probobly due to the fact that they didn't uninstall thier old version of FFUR2006 before installing v2.0 4. Yes I have found that FFUR Anim's are not 3rd party addon friendly. They will give off bad animations when standing in machine guns or other types of mounted weapons. 5. I haven't found any problems with the life bar. In fact I thought it was awsome when we were extracting from helicopters suppressed by fire and I was actually taking a small amount of dammage as the chopper got shot up, but not enough dammage to really be hurt. One we got on the ground I took one hit that gimped me at 25% loss of health. The second hit killed me. I don't think thats to unrealistic. At least I knew I was slightly injured as I was extracted. -

1. IMO the health bar is fine. After all in real life you might not know right away how bad yer hurt, but when ya peel yourself off the ground I'm sure you have a bit of an idea. After all I've been killed playing in one shot and have been hurt and killed with 2. 2. I think the texture aspect ratio problem that is occuring is addon related. It has nothing to do with the config. it's mostly the aircraft used and maybe some weapons and vehicals as well. 3. The mod is great in my oppinion, even though the textures on some of the addons are causing errors in texture aspect ratio on servers, the only bug I've seen thus far besides the various small bugs found in previous pages, is that of the fact that the AI still have a slightly further view distance than they should. This causes the enemy AI to attack your units before you can see them destroying your units when you can't even see them yet. Oh yea and when in AA guns units tend to kneel down under the gun to fire instead of standing and firing the weapons. -

I did exactly the same thing you guys did to the KaoS server when I installed the FFUR2006. However, I have never edited a server config. What changes did you make to the config? -

Checked out the preferences on the server and the auto drop down is set at 4x so thats not the problem. [installed the new FFUR2006v2.0 to a WIN32 Dedicated server Runs fine until you start the mission and then gets 16x256 texture aspect ratio error and crashes. I believe the same thing happened when I installed the v1.0 never did get a responce on why this happens... but it doesn't happen with any other mod on the server.] Any other ideas on how to fix this? -

By the way is there going to be a MP config ? or is it the one the pack currently comes with? is this the reason why people are getting the 16x256 texture aspect ratio error on Dedicated Servers? -
