    Blue Eagles? Who are they? Interesting... been waiting for a new F-18 since "the legendary one" (Hudson and Pennywise was it?)... As you can see from the photo btw, Blue Angels use "traditional" Hornets (C and D), not Super Hornets.

    Done it, too. First when flying the chopper I ended up just flying north (I think), then I realised I went the wrong way, maybe shot down a Hind in the way... then just casually flew the the base and landed. And the mission ended, it being still evening (sun visible).

    Mi-35 and Mi-25 are export versions of the Mi-24 models, they have i.e. slightly better avionics if I'm correct.

    Sweet. haven't tested quite yet but sounds cool, judging by the readme. Although, do I really have to place "#include <ACES\dlg\acesBaseDlg.hpp>" to the description.ext file? Because I usually just play around with the editor, and if you reall need the line, the addon comes basically unusable for me, atleast if it's really important. Combat photography only is acceptable, though, but...

    The last time I played the mission I just stole the Hind off the camp, when they were escorting me to the tent. Firts took the BMP, ran over most of the guys, jumped out, took a gun, shot few guys and took the chopper... took off and either with the aid of the chopper's compass or with the aid of landmarks and sun, flew to the base.

    Facestex2.pbo update

    Short list without links, sorry. 1. Either: A) Check few of the mappings that are posted on the earlier pages, or on the WIP (Addons & Mods: Discussion). B) Or get a tool to unpbo the facestex2.pbo and then a tool to convert the .pac/.paa (I think they're .pac) faces to a format readable by most programs, such as .tga. For this, you need the tools; check the "How to make an addon" topic on A&M:D. Personally, I used tools called WinPBO and PAnTool. 2. Open the "template" face in a picture editing program, such as Photoshop or similar, and edit it. If you have anything "special" to add, such as make your own face, well, the face you're using is the template. 3. Save the image in .tga or .jpg, with the name you prefer (no spaces in the name! 4. Either put it into the original facestex2 file or make a new, empty file where to drop it. 5. Write a config for it. A basic config defines the "name" for the face, and also makes the face usable in a simple way. I placed it into the file I later compressed into a .pbo file, the file being called "My_faces". I simply wrote the lines into the config file, saved is as "config.cpp" (just use Notepad, >Save As, >All files and type config.cpp into the name field) and put it inside the same file (it doesn't matter where it is, as long as it is in a .pbo file, too). As I use it only for custom photography purposes atm, I didn't add any scripts to use with the units without any triggers. 6. Pack it, methods explained above. 7. Usage. Drop the .pbo file into an addon folder, and start the game. Go to mission editor and place an unit using the head model on the island. It's handy to set up and unit and just play as an civilian, to observe any needed fixes. Name the "test unit" (i.e. "Test") and place a trigger. Activation Radio Alpha, Repeatedly is propably the best option. To the "In activation" field, type (this is just an example): <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">Test setface "Metest1" 8. Test it (0-0-1 for Radio Alpha). If it doesn't work, something is wrong, either with the .pbo file or in the config. If everything's ok, well, happy playing. You're free to play. In order to just casually play with it, without any triggers, you'll need to edit the scripts in the original facestex2.pbo or make a custom script and edit the unit config to use it. For photography uses or something similar, either use the radio trigger or set it as countdown, something like 0.2 in the 3 boxes below, activation "Anybody present). Errr... well not the most clear guide but covers the basics.

    NATO AntiAircraft Missile vehicle???

    Wrong thread btw. CBT (I think it's M6) Linebacker, featured in COMBAT! Bradley pack, has a 25mm gun and 4 Stinger missiles, instead of 2 TOW's on the AFV variant (M2/M3 Bradley). SEF's USMC LAV pack features and AA variant too, armed with a gatling gun and some missiles. Fischkopp's (I think) good old HMMWV pack features the HMMWV-based Avenger system, which has 8 Stinger missiles I think. Those are the mobile ones I can think atm. Also some AT-missile systems tend to engage choppers. You can search for the above at ofp.info, I think they have newest versions of them all.

    And if I'm not wrong, the "loaded" verion of the vessel doesn't have cargo seats, atleast for 6. The another version, then again, has a single minigun and 10 cargo positions.

    5 km's away? My TOS's couldn't hit a target a tad less than 2 km's away (not even the whole Malden runway keeping them apart), they complained "Target out of range" or something similar. Might have to check that though, must keep in mind that I did have multiple artillery batteries.

    Well this came out of nowhere... as usual when it's CSJ. Looks great, as usual. Will certainly have fun with this, and the custom cargo anims look nice too. Although judging by the pics, the M134 and the .50 cal barrels look quite long. You remembered the download link along with all those pics, good! Although it's a tad hard to find, I'd say, if you just scroll through the post...

    Mortars in OFP

    The mortars featured in FDF mod also work fine. On a level terrain and with a spotter, you can have a mobile artillery accurate at most practical distances above 250 metres. In more than few instances, after few shots (judging distance by map) the impact has been dead on at a range over a mile, without a line of sight to the target. Useful! Can't remember how the SEF Lav's mortar works, but I think it's usable, too. Would need to test the WGL5 though. That is, multiplayer of course... the AI seems sometimes a bit stupid when it comes to carrying the tybe...

    Typing With Captital First Letters Is Getting On My Nerves... Any updates planned on these, maybe some more units? I remember seeing some more in the original pack. Although the variety is already nice. As I said in my first post, the ACU is a tad blueish. But that can be improved. And naturally in changes it's tone a bit in different lightning, even in OFP. The textures on the head model work this time (they're blurred on most of your SWATs). And do the Rangers really wear those colourful US flag patches on their combat caps? Well, enough of me yabbing. Just waiting for the small update ( ), but they're quite great already.

    Nice job. The TOS-1 is very effective, if used the correct way. And it also functions well, all those animations etc. Been having fun time downing low-flying choppers with this. The Paladin, in the other hand, is a true beta. Nearly no textures inside, miscalibrated sight... and I can't get the west FO to assign targets. Or do the M109's have to be many km's away or in line of sight? I assigned targets (Malden airfield, artillery mile or two away on the highgrounds), but they didn't engage. The artillery system is very simple, but works, in a way. Some more control over it might be nice, though. It would be nice to atleast get the artillery to fire from more than one vehicle at once. Also the max rounds seems to be set at 8, increasing it further will just result the round counter to switch between 9 and 7. To AfrographX: Play as DKM forward observer (Spetznaz model in both West and East btw???), choose the weapon "Binocular" (from the action menu), point at the preferred aiming point and fire. Apparently a tracer round is fired, atleast that's the visual effect, and the artillery will start the fire mission in about 5-15 secs. Although readmes would've been useful...

    Well, AFAIK, that would be the earlier generation ACUs. The later generations are more tan-ish, not blue-shaded (check DLEMs I think). Although both are used and the design does change it's shade a bit in different lightnings. Although I might be wrong as I haven't actually tested these. Yet.
