Here's something... different. Q: Will I get a group discount (or something like that) if I buy more than one (say, 5 maybe) copies of the game? (and sell them for my friends at a lower price... to make sure they have it)

Sgt Eversmann's SWAT Units V2
BlackScorpion replied to Sgt_Eversmann's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Lol he's defending himself against AP .50 cal BMG? Not... bad. The vest just looks a tad oversized. -
Well, thanks, I guess... yay, I do know that they're real size, I was referring to the pics on the 1st time and 2nd time ("mini fighters"), well... the smiley tells it all. Just said I'm eager to see these on my screen, to both play with them and see how they look, since it might always differ a bit due to settings.
-
Excellent... about 2/3 read so far and well, I'm more than a tad excited. Graphics are what they are but I'd be very interested to try this, unfortinetly I don't have UT... Guess it's more than cheap nowadays, but the problem might be finding it!
-
Oh, even better, mini fighters. Seriously, with size limit I mean that the übergood, always nice mods have in their wide wisdom granted an image size of 100 kB (102400 bytes iirc). Any bigger pics should be either resized, cut into pieces (as Parvus usually does in CP thread) or just be linked. As I said, I'll be interested to see them in my OFP. Since I'vebeen surprised both in a good and a bad way before.

Hmmm... got a map I made a fairly long time ago, was supposed to be my first island but it's not finished... it's fairly crude, most of the area is either the elevated airport area (2 side-by-side runways, covering almost the whole map lenght-wise, plus 1 shorter W-E aligned) or just flatland. It also has a 1km high flat-top "mountain" which I've used to drive Ferrari F1's and F-15's off from. It only has Mapfact stuff in it, using textures from WGL Gaia. To get it "correct" I'd have to move most of the multi-part Mapfact buildings anyway, been having some trouble to align them correctly or get them to work... maybe it'd just need config work. Could try to work on it (college just started again so wont promise anything) and then send it to ya guys to work on the mission/test the island.

They look nice... will be interesting to see them ingame since the pics make them look awesome and a tad... well... "not optimized" (photoreal). Hate to say this, but you'd better link or resize and re-upload the images before Placebo slaps ya. There's a size limit you know.

Damn... would've loved this... if this still is gonna get done, some chopper (BAS MH-60's or LB's, or BW-Mod EC-135) or F-14 please... Hiiighwaaayyy tooo theee danger zone, take a riiide iintoo theee danger zone! Need to practise flying upside-down with that thing.

Tested about half of them, seems to work just fine. They also look very nice. Although, couple of things that have bugger me already since TQP's units: 1) The watchcap. It' basically untextured, and looks a bit... eh... well, you know, from closer distance. 2) The pink shooters glasses. Dunno how real life that is, looks a tad wierd to be honest. Also the cap is a tad sharp but then again it barely shows so there's no need to waste resources on that one. They're very nice, guess I'll have fun with these, FP and ORCS units. A good platform to work up from shall I say, if you plan to update these further.
-
Well, yes, noticed that but... I mean do they have the selections or whatever correct. On TQP's SF they weren't, you couldn't get the faces to hold for more than couple of secs. Works with i.e. FP units. Get my point now? Meh, if you can't answer right away I guess I'll just test these soon-ish and complain if it doesn't work.

Was just looking at the Mr. Burns' screens on CP threat, thinking 'I'd love to have those', and then refresh the A&M:C tab... Bang! Right out of the clear sky, here they are! Looking sweet, gotta test them. They work with custom faces don't they?
-
Sure that looks like it. That's the first opening of the article, got most of it scanned now (still 2 pages to go, out of 8). That's pretty much the pic of it, there are some more featuring the scope but they're all on rifles and fairly small (4-5 inches wide the next one, close-up on a shot ACOG). I can still pack it for you in full size if you want to, but if not I'd rather not do it, since the pics are around 8+ megs unedited .jpg, something like 2500x3400 to 1200x1500, depending what the scanner software thought would be "optimal"... unless you want to just read the article. Cheers.
-
That looks sweet... not the same though as the magazine I mentioned shows on Marines' rifles (designated TA31 RCO methinks), different model maybe? It has couple of fairly good pics of it though, I can try to scan the article for you if you want. "Try" because the glossy paper might affect the result a bit.

"You ain't got nothin' on me! You ain't got nothin'... ow!" - Nice vid, you really do have way too much time here! Although that pic above is... erm...
-
As said, atleast does with my rifle scope. And it's small, only 28mm in diameter. Dunno how much the illumination helps, but I'd say heck of a lot. Just tested it just for sure, and well, I'm seeing the "target" (painting on wall this time) with my left eye and my right eye sees the magnified image basically on top of the "real 1x" painting. The images differ few cm's though, depending on magnification, but for a human sized target, that 1cm doesn't matter when pointed at the center of mass. Sorry for OT Jackal.
-
Yeah, too bad the ACOG can't get into it's full potential in OFP. In real life, it's meant as an sort of universal optic; when using it with both eyes open and consentrating on the target, not the scope image, you actually have a high-detail Aimpoint in use. I've tried the thing with my 3-7x non-illuminated rifle scope against litten/light colored "targets" (white door, computer screen) and it works. The function is explained fairly well in Guns & Ammo: Combat Arms magazine I have... basically the brains layer the images and you have one image, basically your normal view, with a crosshair in the middle of it... somewhat freaky actually! Great progress man... good luck. I think we can still wait, quality in quantity.

Works with FS2004. But, seriously. Yeah, Fraps or something liek that is good, or DxDll. It has screenshot-taking function. The bad thing is that it saves them in Targa (.tga) format, which isn't openable in many "basic" tools (i.e. MS Paint). Also, it's a high-quality code which means that when using 1280x1024 your images will be at around 3,5-5 MB's. I just converted about 5000 shots I had taken, totalling 23,7 GB. Using a tool featured Adobe Photoshop E2, I converted them to .png (basically .bmp) format, 32 bit. Took me over 8 hours, but now the file is less than 5 GB... so it was worth it (more doubled free space on my HD). Well, enough of that OT. Looks like a cool addon, gotta try this with the mercs.

My most usual recovery method is to throttle to idle, apply full reverse rudder, push the stick forward and then start the "rev" the engines a bit to get some force to the movement. Works most of the time, given enough altitude. Can you explain how you add helos to it? Just like in FS2004. Put the aircraft's file into SimObjects > Airplanes file (you should find it), just like you'd put it into Aircraft file in FS2004. Works fairly well most of the time, depending on the aircraft and what's it made for. Sample above, my Tu-114 sitting on one of the Intl airports.

If he's talking about the film I guess he means the fictional "beast". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan_MiG-31_%28fictional%29#MiG-31 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiG-31 Just a note.

Lol, thought of that but didn't try. Gotta put in my beloved F-14!
-
Lol, a lot actually, I think. Just check the newest Facestex, I think it has african-american faces too. If not, DMA's got african faces atleast.

Something with USB and Force Feedback should be OK. Logitechs aren't regarded as the... *ahem* very best joysticks in the world, if you get my point. On a sidenote, I haven't ever even used one I think, so... Saitek makes very nice sticks, based on many people's opinions. And many models, too. Personally I could recommend MS Sidewinder FF 2, but I think they haven't made them for few years. Mine is about 2.5 years old or so (I think), starting to show some "slubbiness" but still working fine.

Erm... this page should have a working link. If not, just use the search. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=9996 -
LOL! Seems that the demo has a time limit... took a morning flight with the Beechcraft, at 5:30 am... just when I was starting to have fun, getting to around 7000-8000 ft, the demo shut itself down. Atleast menu works after starting it again.
