Yes thats what it is, dont be fooled. Look at the other screenshots and you will see in the background there is no grass. True, but I think players in the distant and lying in the grass will be partly conceiled and faded. In the trailer at 1:04 you can see the soldiers fade away nicely in the background, and those are standing up. I think you won't see them at all if they were lying down on the ground. Let's hope AI can't see you too... Ok, the video is not HD so the fade effect could be caused by the video quality, but I don't think it's something to be worry about.

Exellent trailer & interview Impressive stuff, It looks good & it sounds good (that was a surprise actually).

There's a big brown stain on the right building, but it was there before he starts firing. anyway, I believe you, I'm just to tired to see it.
-
but better then nothing... The grass looks so fluffy Where do you see bullet impacts?
-
It takes some time before the download starts, 5 min or so. I'm downloading him now, 24 min to go.

When you're going prone there no way you could turn around fast on your belly. It's like you're lying on a spinning wheel. It should only be restricted to the upperbody, if you want to turn any further, you will have to use your legs, just like in rl. This, or make turning on the ground slower then in is right now.

Yeah, I saw that video, physics are impresive but what's the viewdistance in Crysis? 200-300m?

Cool, Germany is a neighbor. It's worth the 4 hours ride.

damn we re going to see huge smoke collumns in Arma. Maybe they combine big smokecloud particles with the smaller one sfrom OFP to create bigger clouds with minimum lag?
-
Nha, that would be silly huh. When I look closely to the smoke I see the same clouds cloned over & over again in different dimensions & transparency levels. Don't misunderstand, I'm not talking about the cloning tool in Photoshop here, like in the Reuters photo skandal. But it seems like they are using the drop command again but this time with bigger particles. Anyway, I don't worry, I'm sure BIS did a good job. But the ball in that william blog footballpicture is motion blurred for sure
-
True, but in most games lots of fog create lag. Can things like smoke en fire be lagless?
-
Hmmm, actually it looks weird to me, it doesn't fit in the enviroment. It looks like a photo montage or so, I wonder how it looks in motion. The foilage is awesome indeed.

I know Placebo loves Pro evolution soccer 5 , but isn't this going too far? j/k I don't think you can play football in Arma, just something clever, place some running units and a ball on a field and it looks like they are playing football. A little motion blur on the ball in photoshop and you're done.

Aperture is an optical word, which determines a size of hole on a slit. If the size is small, all range comes in focus. And if the size is large, only small range comes in focus and you have to select the range adjusting a camera lens. Here are examples of the aperture. Small Aperture Three figures are all in focus when the aperture is small. Large Aperture But only middle figures is in focus when the aperture is large. Of course, you also have to choose which figure to be in focus by adjusting the camera lens. Hmmm, do I see a way to create an adjustable scope?

Can't wait either...We can only speculate right now but it looks like there are 4 commands to make a unit find cover. First the FindCover command to find object where the unit should search for cover within a given radius, the GetHidefrom command to return the position of that object and the SetHideBehind command to make him hide behind that object. The Ishidden command to check the unit has reached his cover destination or not Btw, I 've found another new camera command : SetAperture
-
Yup, also SetTitleEffect CameraOn (where is the command to attach the camera?) CameraInterest CamSetFOVRange CamSetDive (This one never worked in OFP, Lets hope it does now.) And I love these... Nearobjects FindNearestEnemy Findcover
-
Seems the addaction command has new params, no explanation but some of them are obvious. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> [action, script,(arguments, priority, showWindow, hideOnUse, shortcut)] Shortcut... omg i hope they are talking about defined keys to activate an action... btw, where is createWP?
-
Yeah, i thought there was a command "bindkey" in VBS1 or OFP:E to assign keys in a script. Hope it will be in Amra aswell.

Again that mysterious way to inform us... Why a cellphone and not a HDTVcamera? BIS loves to play with us and I really don't mind, but it's not a good way to convince new people. That noisy vid looks good tho, I like the texturing, not too colourfull.

3D replay That would be magic. What do you mean by sign-off? You have to leave the mission to watch the replay in the editor. Replays are automatically saved in that mdb folder, there's always one with the results and another with the events. It's all in the readme btw. I'm suprised by the movements the AI makes to get me Five men keep me busy from one side while one dude leaves the group, get around me and kills me with a grenade.:p
-
Very nice, great stuff. impresive. The equivalent for Observer3... Dunno equivalent is English tho... Play the mission and check if there's any .top file created in the mdb folder of the fwatch folder. If so, open the editor and run the !TOP1_OPERA.abel mission in the intro section of the editor. Then type the ID (for example 01) in the dialog and the replay will be loaded. Btw, from the readme : No it doesn't... I use Win 2000
-
Well, that's realy nice but is it lag i notice or did they use an acctime command to slow it down?
-
I don't think you will see the pieces fall, I expect just a big cloud of smoke to disguise the creation a big pile of debris.
