I do know someone who will be attending and I've asked them to gather as much information as possible. I know that VBS2 is not a public product but I still find it very interesting and believe that a lot of the work done will eventually filter down into game 2/next generation game. -
Sounds like BIS are going all out to demo VBS2 at I/ITSEC 2006 including linking up with other simulation products such as Steal Beasts a laser range and Track IR. I wish I could be there to see it. VBS2 Demonstration at I/ITSEC details

How to play CZ/GER version completely in English

They dont have to speak German. English, German, Czech, Russian, Polish is already all available in the game. Except the Single Player Missions & Campaign Briefings & Overview... They are now being translated from Czech to English... maybe you can explain me why someone would also translate them from German to English when it's already translated from Czech to English? And I think "End This Week" is before 30th November. Little useless post don't you think? easy easy I didn't mean any harm I was trying to be funny and obviously failed miserably I was meaning the briefings etc rather than the stringable so I thought these may need to be translated seperately, I didn't know your re-done pbo's could be loaded to any language version. I think you guys are doing a great job and have nothing but respect. I've been watching this thread since you started it as I've preordered a German version because I couldn't wait for the English one. But I'll just go back to lurking and keep my mouth zipped -

Judging from the airstrike video, making the ai or players land and taxing to re-arm refuel is a must. It'll help make the use of aircraft more realistic and hopefully a full and powerful part of largescale combat without being too overpowering like BF2 where flying over a base is enough to rearm and refuel

just on a technicality DX10 is not actually backwards compatible, however Vista (the only O/S which will support DX10) will include a version of DX9 so that you can play most older games.

I've just ordered my copy from amazon.de I'm impatient for the game and a little disappointed BIS and the publishers could not have worked out an online deal for forum members. I'm sure it wont take long until a mod to convert the strings to english is available

adadaead Firstly as stated North America has not been forgotten, if you check out this thread, which is long, but also full of detail, you'll start to understand what is happening. Â BIS tried for a global publisher but there are only a few of these in the games market one of which was also not an option for BIS *cough* codemasters*cough*. Â So they have had to look for publishers for the separate regions. They would not want to ignore the North American market as there is the potential to sell a lot of games there, but it is not the only market or the biggest. Â Europe as a whole has a population of about 800 Million I believe, approximately 12 % of the worlds population. Whereas I believe North America is about 340 Million or around 6%. The deals that have been signed so far demonstrate that a publisher for a single/smaller country can get a product to market quicker than a publisher who is covering either a large geographic area or multiple languages. It would take real expertise to publish/advertise/distribute to the whole of North America, maybe BIS are waiting until they find someone they feel can do the job well or are willing sign a contract which is both beneficial and fair to both parties. Don't forget BIS is not a huge company, they really need to get the maximum from this product to help fund the development of Game 2. If you are ask big a fan as you claim, you would be crossing your fingers for an online distribution of an English version or getting setup to buy a German or Czech version online and either guess the briefings or hope somebody mods the language files quickly.

It seems to be the common idea that the delay is for 505 to organise the physical production and distrabution of the game. At the same time we know BIS were working on an online distrabution system. Could a deal not be done where 505 pay BIS to offer this download to those in their teritories who want to download the game? Or they could even do a deal where you have to pay a little more but you get the download straightaway and the boxed version sent to you when it is ready.

Could this sort of thing be used to stop a grenade having any affect on those inside a bunker? Could you have a trigger with an area covering a parimeter around the bunker and use the EH of any unit within throwing a grenade to set the grenade to explode with no damage? Bazooka_Boy

Action when missile hits the ground

Could your script be modified to do the following? When hitting a specific object (my bunker addon) you see the explosion but no damage is done to the object or those inside at the time of impact. I need something to do this as although my bunker is bullet proof, a bazooka or tank shell often kills those in side (which should really happen for a bunker) Bazooka_Boy -

Hi I'm making a german bunker addon but have a problem where a single tank or pak shell will kill all the crew. The bunker is certainly bullet proof but I looking for a way of making it withstand grenades and shells. I have a high armour and weight value for the bunker in the config file and model, plus the walls are all at least 1m thick. I don't know if this can be done with scripts or a better use of the LODS. Does any one have any suggestions or examples? Or details of an existing building in ofp that can take a hit from a shell or grenade, so I can try and see how it does it. Thanks for the replies Donnervogel I don't think destrType=DestructNo; will work as the Bunker is already set to not be destroyable and has no Hit Point values or damage model. Leone, the FireGeo is what I've been working with so far. Â As the wasll are at least 1m thick (2 in places) I've not really tried making them that much larger, but I will give that a try and see how it looks. Crowley, Â I would be very interested if you had any more details on this explosion addon. Â I guess with this I'd be able to stop the shell with a trigger and script and replace it will a hopefully impressive but non-killing explosion. Â I think that would be exatly what I need. bmgarcangel, the bunker is a building at the moment. Â I've just placed an MG in there for now. Â The long term plan is to have an MG or a PAK (as bunker designs were similar) as a working integrated part of the bunker. Â You can see the type of layout and hence why I though I shouldn't have got this problem at My Bunker Thread Overall the dimensions fo the bunker are about W=19m L=16m, so a shell hitting the front should certainly not kill the crew in the rear of the bunker as it would have to pass throuhg the external and internal walls, that's over 3m of re-inforced concrete. Crowley please let me know if you have any more details about that explosion addon. Bazooka_Boy

Hi I'm just getting into using O2 and could use the help of a manual. I've search through the posts and see there is a "unofficial Oxygen Manual" which I think is something to do with the Internal Editing Mod.
