Friday Night Firefight Beta available
Blink Dog replied to Blink Dog's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
ECP is not the prob. I use it as well, and would recomend it actually. I had used the ICP tanks pack but then reverted to the BIS ones so it prob left that addon listed in the mission sqm file. Flashpoint mission editors don't automatically delete the entry even if the unit is not used. -

I've got an island and mod pack that I was working on a few months ago and I would like to release it but need a reliable host. It's a small 1x1km island with an intro done by AK-Chester and 2 missions plus some re-configged units. I will still have to write up a readme and pack it for consumption. I don't do much modding these days but I figure there is no point in not releasing this since I spend over a year working on it. Email me at blink_dog@cogeco.ca or visit my myspace page to add me or leave me a message http://www.myspace.com/blinkdog

Well I intended it to be a mod project origionally. It includes all the addons needed to play both the island and the various addons for missions. The re-configed addons are WYW-Opfor (the units) Orcs ak and RPG packs. you still need the origional addons to use my versions since I just did a config file packed into pbo's. I'm not one for using JAM and the orcs weapon stats don't click with origional OFP values so I did a modified configs. Included in the mod folders are the other addons that these are dependant as well like Sucheys marine pack etc. The "island" itself is highly detailed. There are over 10,000 objects with the 1x1 KM area as a result you puter will chug-a-lug if you do not turn down your view distance etc. I have a P4 2.4 w/1gig ddr ram, a SB Audy2 and a GF fx5200 w/128m vid ram. I have the view distance set at 500m and I get around 20-24 fps with a fair # of units on map. Having a view distance above 500m is not nessasary however since there are very few places on the island that would allow you to engage at ranges farther than that.

Just something I threw together that shows some of the island features. It also shows some of the alternate config units I worked on too.

waiting for test results.

I've gotten a few replies and thanx, I'm going to disdecombobulate all the pbo's and such and through the mystical realm of the internet I'll get it out to yas. Just as a warning though the whole thing is going to wiegh in around 200MB.

I'm all for it as long as I get to blow the signs up or spraypaint a logo on them like in CS.

I totally agree as well, I have never understood why these conflicts arise in this community. I just look at the situation between mods that are doing the same basic work and fail to understand why they haven't banned together to achieve the same goal. I don't care so much for purposes of standardization, another config can be written up for things like that. A small mod project I'm working on uses others addons but I have written different configs in order to make it work for my mod.

Amazing work and worth the wait. Even though I have only played around with it with the mission editor a little bit it has so far made my life as a beginning mission maker so much easier. The idle chit chat and randomized unit animations when units are "careless" or "safe" is the best feature implemented with this. Brings life to missons. I also like the radio chatter with the vehicles. I have also noted that the colision detection seems to be better. I have been working on an urban island with alot of objects (12,000 in a 1x1km area) and I had a car continually crashing into buildings, now it handles the roads better.

I redid the apartment buildings. Here, goto the bottom of the page there are 4 types. view them in Odol explorer 2.0 to find the one you would like

I hope they don't ban religion, I'm looking to form a religious cult in the near future.

No we haven't gone over to VBS exclusively. There will be more news in the future so stay tuned.

I'll get to the bottom of this soon enough.

First of all Reginald who the fuck are you? If anyone is to declare ONS dead it will be myself , Powerslide or Sigma-6 will do so. And it is not, we have just been working on other things. If anyone hosts these addons I will personally see to it that heads will roll.

I think it would be a good idea when AA and OFP2 are released that they include a toolset either with the game or as part of an expansion pack. I have never been able to get visitor to work properly on my puter and have had problems with Oxy and Binarize. It would be nice if the toolset had an auto installer and would unpack the pbo's. The toolset I got with Contract Jack (lithtech engine) does just that. Failing that it would be nice if third party tool developers could converse with the development team and make programs without having to do alot of trial and error.

Try contacting Sigma-6, he's putting together a truck pack and it will have some other technicals in it, this would be a nice addition.

Codemasters owns the trademark "Operation Flashpoint" so they can make an ofp 2 if they wish. The name of the game is not important though as I will prob purchase all of BIS's games and I will prob buy alot of Codemasters titles, Colin McRae 04+05 are my fav Xbox titles right now. Competition is a good thing, it keeps developers on their toes and creates cool new ideas. As an example I also purchased Soldner Secret wars, it's really buggy but it has some nice features like destructable buildings and an even larger "map" than Flashpoint. Without competition we would have a sort of gaming communism where things are slow to improve.

There should be an option in the action menu to chew on Khat leaves or smoke some Mandrax.

I have to agree with you in some ways. I've found the search options to suxors big time as well.

You better include a VW bug in that pack or else I'll hire some shark like lawyers. -
