    Us presidential election 2004

All this aside, Billybob, I assume your with me when I say the entire US election system is a complete mess of interests, lobbies and childish slander. It's going to reach crisis point soon (Maybe a few more terms), and then things are going to start breaking down.

    Athens Olympics 2004

China are on fire at the moment. I believe their medal total is 11 medals, including 7 golds. Total Gold 1. China 11 7 2. Australia 9 5 3. Japan 5 4

    The Iraq thread 4

Any problem with that Bals, is that every armed force has privateering bastards like that. It's been happening for thousands of years, and I think it's set to continue for a good few years yet. This by no means reflects my opinion on the matter. Looting and pillaging is illegal under civil and military law, and those caught should be punished. The problem occurs when pumped up young men with weapons have the opportunity to enrich themselves quickly with little risk to themselves.

    Doom 3 has gone GOLD!!!!!!!!!!

If you hit one of the popular doom sites, and look at their forums they have config tweaks that can help. www.planetdoom.com have some in their forums (Scroll down to find it) Additonally, and most importantly, make sure you download the latest drivers from Nvidia.

    Windows XP SP2 released

Additionally, a nmasty old SP1 install might not help either. Best thing to do is slipstream a Win XP cd with SP2 on it, and perform a fresh install. It actually runs al ittle faster on my machine than it did pre-sp2! Edit - Errr, why are you using CPU idle? XP and 2k both idle the PC when not running tasks. It was the Win 9x systems that couldn't idle the CPU properley.

    Windows XP SP2 released

I'm quite impressed with this release. I'm testing it on a single rig, before I unleash it on the network. Only problem I have come across is with WinFax Pro. Seems the new SP2 security settings prevent it from connecting to the server. I'll have to find a fix for that before I can roll the SP out on the other machines. Think it might be a DCOM problem.

    Us presidential election 2004

I think the rest of the world should throw some cash in a hat, and buy some advert time in the US. We can then plead for Bush not to be elected, as he is a threat to ALL countries one way or another. OR we could buy votes

    War against terror

We've been dealing with threats for decades. They found out in the 80's that calling in all potential threats, and announcing them to the public just pissed people off, and cost millions upon millions to implement. We just let the police get on with their job, and we get on with ours.

    Britain to slash military jobs

what was result, you win so they got scared? lol Nah the match was close, but they beat us..... and caused serious injuries. Still they were made so drunk that night, some of them nearly died! Ha, put that in your pipe and smoke it!

    Britain to slash military jobs

They have a barracks in Newport South Wales, on Barrack Hill (Funnily enough). We played rugby against them once. (Never again)

    Blended metal ammo

Quite, consider how many people are shot in a combat situation, and then survive afterwards. Perhaps they can't recover fast enough to partake in combat again, but stand a good chance of surviving. Thats why your not allowed to blow them into little chunks.

    Military Humor

They had a Spit from the memorial flight down at Saints one day to get a new prop fitted. The guy flying it was doing low level circuits, and really pushing it. Sounded like a dream, most of the base came out to watch. Then it got called off, as a local school was complaining about the noise! Quite sad really, when they really did miss out on a piece of history and heritage. Still, didn't stop us from clambering all over it when he landed and trying to blag a quick jolly in it.

    What's your job?

Asthma because of vitamins? Â Â Quite.... Err, I don't think thats at all possible. So unless your mother was a chronic 40 a day smoker when you were a toddler, I wouldn't hold anything agaisnt her!

    Cadet Forces

A loadmaster is typically a Senior NCO, but not an Officer. The UAS's only serve to recruit Officers, although they cover all trades. A loadmaster would would enter as a enlisted man, and then visit OASC at Cranwell to qualify for aircrew. Sadly you would have enter straight in, as there are no real schemes for enlisted men in the Airforce. Have a word with your local recruiting office, they can fill you in.

    Cadet Forces

16? When do you start your A Levels? When you do, you can go a on a flying sponserhip program run by the airforce, plus they give you 2 grand to spend. Then, you can apply for the UAS and join that way. (This is providing you want to go for pilot, but the UAS serve all branches..... even regiment!)

    IE saving pictures as *.bmp

To be fair, the SP2 version of IE is far better. Integrated popup blocker, a host of security options, and patched to buggery. SP2 is going to be what XP should have been. (Secure!) I trialed SP2 on some machines in work, but had to remove it as it was having conflicts with UltraVNC and WinFax. (Security settings mess up DCOM services. It's being fixed by MS)

    Doom 3 has gone GOLD!!!!!!!!!!

I find that game to be -far- more immersive than Doom 3 was. It may be unfair to compare the alpha to a finished game, but seriously. The graphics weren't as good, but it had the right atmosphere. Mmm, SS2 with Doom 3 engine... Â That would be something! I can't be motivated to replay SS2 when that Rebirth graphics project died...or did it? I can't find the page any more. The first version with new Hybrids, androids, spiders and corpses was released, so that's better than nothing I guess. Have a look here. Full of information!

    Cadet Forces

Air cadets I take. Providing you fancy your chnaces at being an Officer, you should attempt to apply for your local University Air Squadron when you start uni. They will take you up in the Grob, and do your elementary flying training with you, and then you head up to Cranwell after three years, for all the fun and games that entails. While you are with the Sqn, you'll be an Officer Cadet rank. (You salute superior officers, but enlisted men don't salute you. You also get the run of the Officers mess) For the record, the air cadets are whiny little b'stards who can't hold their drink and they always puke on fast jet check rides

Just for the record, but you're not supposed to bump threads on this forum.

    Al Jazeera

I saw a fantastic documentary on UK History the other day. It was based in the offices of Al Jazeera during the recent conflict, and revealed exactly what happened. After watching it, you really see how the channel was demonised by everyone else for no real reason. Hardly Pro-Iraqi, they were banned by the Iraqi propoganda ministry for 24hrs for comments they made about the regime.

    Doom 3 has gone GOLD!!!!!!!!!!

Well I've pre-ordered it anyway. Going to reformat the gaming rig, flush the water system, and overclock the hell back out of it again. Then it'll be ready for Doom 3.
