Want to shoot yourself up with a Kalashnikov?

Righto, I want to try some of this! We also have a drink we made up one night called the 'Stalin's Purge' 2 x Double Vodka's and 2 x Red Aftershocks mixed in. For added effect, swirl the drink round and light it. It's the ultimate catch up drink, and strangely morish, despite its breath taking qualities. Myself? I don't touch the stuff! I just helped invent it and poison my friends with it! I'll stick with the stout thanks!

They would only fire a nuclear weapon at you as an absolute final resort. They could potentially destroy a handfull of cities at worst, whilst the US has the capability to destroy their entire country. Question is would the Government be able to two trade a few million citizens to turn a country into a sheet of glass? Once a country has a nuclear deterrent, it basically rules out invasion.

Enthusiasts Eye Assault Rifles as Ban Nears End

Just to add to this little argument, but when I did range training at Bisley with the Browning 9mm, both AD and ND were used in shorthand for memo's. One guy did actually negligently discharge his weapon into the ground (Where's the safety?), and was promptly jumped on and beaten by two Corporals. Well they did warn us! He was booted off the range for a week, and confined to quarters. (And as there was no Officers mess at Bisley, he had to slum it in a tent! )

Yes as there are two expressions, AD and ND. Both are common, both do exist, but you fail to see the difference. Oh and I´ve witnessed both at the range and during the use of firearms. Stupidity has no limits and weapons do malfunction under certain circumstances. You laugh ? Well, maybe you should ask some guys who deal with guns on a regular base. I guess they will tell you, that there´s nothing to laugh about AD´s and ND´s.... Goddamn, this is boring. Obviously you didn't understand what I was laughing at. And even though you won't accept it, I deal with guns on a regular basis even though my vocabulary doesn't come from Guns&Ammo. Bals is German. Therefore his use of english terms stem from commonly used phrases. Furthermore, I've respected his opinion for years, so your criticsm of his vocabulary seems quite petty in my opinion.

And of course, this never happens when someone is trying to take your gun. If you don't own a gun, fine. But if you have never fired one, you really don't know what you are talking about. That's like me talking about airplane safety. Do people not use safeties? Carrying a loaded and cocked weapon is asking for trouble. Think the dog did him a favour to be honest.

No news from N Korea at this time, they have gone completely quiet. Linkage

Sadly this is what happens if you use Gunships to police the area. You can't use high explosives without killing civilians indescriminately. The other side of that is to send in ground troops, but then they suffer at the hands of small arms.

    N korea train blast

Remember, they generally don't class an nuclear explosion by the cloud it creates, but the heat bloom it generates. If a surface detonation did take place, they would know very quickly. If it was an underground test, then there would be no cloud as such. This laso seemed to occur near the Chinese border. Surface testing near neighbouring counties is just going to piss them off, they don't want to upset China.

Actually, I thought that the US was not supposed to have a large standing army anyway. That way, when the people decided to 'call elections early', it would not be such a job to march on Washington. Far from the army that was supposed to be disbanded after war, anyone who dared to try to over throw the Goverment would be crushed in short order.

Why the hell would you need an assualt rifle for everyday use? I know people like to collect weapons, but they can deactived and/or not come with a bonus 100 round CMAG. I'd hate to work in a off license or ban in the US. Worst you would ever get here is a sawn off! Bet the police are well happy with this, and have got their orders with dupont in early. Meh, soon enough there will be some crazed shootout with assault weapons, loads will die, and then they will be banned again.

Stunt pilots to catch space capsule.

Yeah, they used to use the method to catch capsules from Corona and other satelites. Usually used tuboprops or choppers to do it.

    Gunmen take 200+ student hostages

Isn´t it the rough way Putin handles the chechen cause that caused all that mess ? Violent solutions don´t work. If you haven´t learned by now, you will never... Well not really! Putin is quite soft when it comes to acting. I kinda thought, why things like that never happened in USSR during Afghan War? Considering that Pakistan, Iran, USA and others were using religion as a catalyst for mujahideen movement. And yes, I do realise that it was way harder for afghanis to get across Soviet border, but they had good financial backing and it was possible. Fortunately back then, no police officer would've willingly helped armed terrorists for couple of hundred greenbacks.... And you're wrong violent solutions do work, but they have to be complete solutions, not those half-assed attempts that Russia and USA are showing now. Those were the days when the Soviet Union actually had tight border controls. These days its a joke. Thats partly because of a reduction in the border guards, the corruption of those who remain, and the fact that it seem particulary easy to infiltrate a democratic country. It was harder under the Soviet system, as the people were taught to be suspicious of any new faces, and informing the KGB (2nd directorate?) was encouraged. As you can see under a more relaxed system, its not a problem to enter the country. Look at the US. Border controls there are a joke as well, but they have more resources available to interdict groups people before they get in, and when they do enter the country to monitor them. Surely Putin should know this, he was KGB for a good few years. Actually getting into the country is a formality these days. At a cost of killing 28 million of his own citizens. Get a grip, the man was worse than Hitler.

Civilians? Whom are they fighting against'? Russian forces or the hostage takers? Would think the latter to be frank. Armed mob justice.

Err guys, your forgetting something. It's a school. A school with a canteen. They will have at least several days of food available to them, plus running water and nice crockery. Depends on how large the canteen is. School cafeteria's don't have a lot of food in stock. And you can cut of the water suplies and say it's a mechanical problem. From the details I've put together, the school appears to be a Russian 'middle' school, which would make it at least a comprehensive here. That would amount to roughly 400 - 1000 pupils, plus staff at max capacity. Institutions like that tend to have large canteen areas, especially if it was a Soviet era built school. Regarding the water situation, the authorities have mentioned they won't turn it off, but if they did, I know some schools have large tanks of water for emergencies. Mine did, and was designed if an emergency forced the school to keep pupils in the building for long periods of time. (That happened once, and was a chemical gas leak from a factory a few miles away) As for the Red Cross, I highly doubt it. They don't want to get involved with an illegal group like that, and there is no way in hell the Russians would allow them to even if they did. I believe groups like are not in their remit, and therefore cannot provide aid/food in situations like that. Actions like that are left up to the 'host' country.

I did like TAW, and the structuring of it was rather good, but I found the entire flight model and avionics setup far too simple. Felt a little like playing Afterburner.

Falcon 4.0 with Superpak 4 and BMS addons. You will not get closer! Plus there's a lovely Typhoon in there you can throw around the skies. (You can skip the 15 minute aircraft startup procedure if you want to though!)

After watching the 'precision' mortar attacks by the local militias, I would be very surprised if they found the attack wasn't another mortar firing fuckup.

Two Russian Civilian Airlines Lost on Radar

Good point about the transponder code. 7500 is the hijack code, while 7600 for example is for loss of comms, and 7700 is for an emergency. Only takes a couple of digits to get it wrong.
