Us army adopts .50 cal replacement

Read the report on the GR4/Patriot incident yet? 'Human Error'...... again!

Are we intel owners forced to buy new motherboard

The entire PC architecure will be getting an overhaul soon. New standards for hardware, and case layout means that lots of new kit might be required. New MB's for new CPU's sadly (But I tend to do that anyway), but the RAM should be staying to the SD DDR format. (Just clocked higher and higher! )

    The Iraq thread 3

Bit of speculation from myself, but have resistance forces been using standard artillery rounds for road side bombs previously? Possibly the gas filled shell was not recognised for what is was. You need to fire the shell in order for significant amounts of gas to be produced, not just blow it up.

    Best military clips

Well this does feature Harriers, Carriers, and Jaguars! Linkage! Wait till next week, when we see a Lotus Elise vs a AH-64 Apache! (Saw it tonight.... The Elise wins! Ever see a AH64 try to flip a car over with downdraft?) Edit - This one has no military valure, but I feel I must post it. Witness the power of the Invincible Toyata Hilux! 15 mins. Worth every minute!

    Wish me luck, eh?

Bah health! Gave up smoking yesterday, (It's too bloody expensive!) and its not hard at all. Shame I'm coughing up nails at the moment till my lungs sort themselves out.

The matrix online is preparing for betatesting

If its anything like the last two films, it will be complete rubbish, packed full of CG and lacking in a decent story. First one was good though, theres something they can base it on.

    2003 stella awards

For the love of god! The only thing those people should have been awarded is death. How the hell can the courts get so fucked up? What sort of imbecile on a jury can agree to these claims?! I thought it was getting bad in the UK, but thankfully our judges often tell the claiment to sod off, and then charge them money for wasted court time.

    Net send

Use this all th time on my local network. It's great fun announcing a server shutdown in 10 minutes, and then doing it in 8!

Why do you read a decent paper, then contaminate your mind with crap by watching a joke of a news station? Surely you have others to choose from? Christ, the rest of the world laughs at Fox news!

    The Iraq thread 3

Hardliner propaganda because fox news took more of a pro-american stand? Do you know that some of their guests/hosts are liberal democrats? If they were a that kind of outlet, why would they let liberals have airtime on their station. Furthermore, why would they let people talk negatively about President Bush on their station. They even let 2004 presidental candidates come on their station to talk about themselves and why the people should vote for them. Â Bull-shit. I think your missing the point. A news service should be as impartial as possible, and shouldn't be backing 'the winning team'. What would you call North Korean news services? They are certainly Pro North Korea aren't they? I would think people would have the intellegence to work with the facts they are given, rather then spoon feeding them the right titbits as its 'patriotic'

    The Iraq thread 3

I suppose the UK equivalent would be the 'Sun' newspaper. This paper can make up policies it has so much power. Worst thing is, it not even owned by a Briton.

    The Iraq thread 3

I think what is shown on the video is not unique, not for the soldiers of any country. You always have soldiers behaving like assholes and taking out their stress on the civilians. The relevant part is that the military organization that they work for does not tolerate this. And these guys must be really stupid to let themselves be taped or the US military is looking the other way when such incidents occur. If they are punished and the military recognizes that destruction of private property is not tolerated then I'm fine with it. I'm however not at all convinced that it is the case. Well I've yet to see any reports on the FF incidents involving the British warrior/A 10 incident and the GR4/Patriot incident. Just brush it under the carpet, their families won't mind.

I know the initial British war dead were televised live when they were brought back. I thought the US had a free'er press than we did.

    War against terror

Yes, real sources! Sadly, Sun readers make up a large proportion of the people in this country, and they are actually allowed to vote! Sad thing is they have so much sway over the 'general public', they tell them whats right, and whats wrong, and who to vote for. All the blatent Iraq support? Guess who owns this paper? And he doesn't live in the UK....

Does the uk belong into europe

After all the money the Welsh assembly has pissed away, I'm glad we are part of the UK. If we ran the country ourselves, we'd only fuck it up...

Robot plane drops bomb in successful test

Which Maverick would that be? The AGM-65 with the largest warhead is the G. Considering the size of an average fixed SAM site (Assuming we are talking about the standard Russian design), is a radar system in the middle of a star, with launchers at its points. It's highly unlikely a AGM-65 could destroy the entire site, particuarly as the warhead tends to be focused. A cluster munition could do the job, but the higher it disperses, the less saturation you get with the bomblets. Dumb bombs are still used against many targets including tanks, mainly because they are cheap, and most countries have large stockpiles of them. You use precision munitions in a high threat environment as to minimize the risk to the launch aircraft.

    Far cry's unscripted ai behaviour

The lighting effects are great with those 'fiends'. (come on, they are the fiends from Quake 1!) Walking into a dark room, with a slatted window blind allowing light to shine in illuminating the blood slicked floor, and then suddenly a large shadow gets cast onto the floor through the window. You turn.... and then fire 3 clips and a grenade into the other room while shrieking like a girl. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere with the those bastards growling around you is rather harrowing. I was so glad to see Mercs again later on, even if they were being torn to bits by mutants. As for favourite weapon, has to be a toss up between the G36 and a P90.

    Far cry's unscripted ai behaviour

I suppose you could buy the child version from the shop, and then aquire the full version off the net. AS long as you pay your dues, I don't see any moral issues with it.

Bah, bring it on nature. We will wreck the planet before we hand it back! Detonating the earths nuclear stockpiles at the poles should do it....

You like jets ? you like nice scenery ?

I've got some bloody insane footage of Tornago GR's lying around somwhere. (Those buggers get low! ) Plus the after effects of a low flying Jaguar and a local taxi in Eygpt. (Its lucky the driver jumped out!) I'll have to dig them out...

    Nvidia launches geforce 6 series

Wait for the PCI-Express version to come out. That shouldn't need two molex connectors on it, as it can pull far more power from the slot than AGP. Think I'll wait till the new boards come out, prices settle, then I'll buy a whole new setup. PCI-Express does look nice though, and is long overdue.

    Crazy men throughout our history

Stalin was a far nastier piece of work than Hitler in my opinion. More to do with the amount of people who died at his hands, and the fact he managed to stay in power so long.
