Moment of silence on 8th of june

It's surprising how many people are not aware of this. Seems everyone wanted it brushed under the carpet.

Some questions about world war ii

Funnily enough, all those kids recognizing Hitler doesn't surprise me, as part of the UK History sylabus is 'Hitler's Germany'. When I did it a few years back, we never focused on the actual operations of the war as a whole. (I did though, and proceeded to bore everyone silly with my facts)

    International Politics Thread

Here they expected such a low turn out, that they bumped the local council elections back a week to co-incide with the European. Hopefully that should improve turnout.

    The Iraq thread 3

Takes off ze gloves and puts the crazy cap on...Puts gloves back on because this not worth it and there are too many jokes about France out right now.... "Finally, this week the French soldiers have showed up in Afghanistan. Figures just like the French to show up after the hard work has been done." "Q: What do you call a Frenchman advancing on Baghdad? A: A salesman. " "Q:Why do we need France on our side against Saddam and Osama? A:So the French can show them how to surrender. " "Thousands of have died in France because of a heat wave. Now the French are surrendering to the weather? " I do not support these jokes (but any chances must be taken.... Â ) Sodding yanks. We were taking the piss out of France before it was cool! Were the only ones who are allowed to do it!

    Xbox on pc

The Xbox OS is a stripped down 2K kernal. I imagine it shouldn't be so hard to implement.

    Don't mess with buckingham palace!

Yes, a little unpleasent. He bailed out and his chute got caught up on a lamp post. Being stuck 1 foot from the pavement he was beaten to death by angry Londoners. Not very sporting....

    Don't mess with buckingham palace!

Hey, they actually found it! The aircraft in question was a Hurricane. The pilot was simply going to ram the Dornier he was chasing and go down with his plane. When he actually hit the bomber and realised he was still alive he bailed out!

    Problem with craptop

Ha ha ha ha. Theres your first problem, never try to buy computer equipment from PC World. Blind chimps equipped with hammers could do a better job, their training is laughable. (Always fun to go in, fire techy questions at them and watch their brains melt) See if you can get it sent back to the manufacturer instead. They actually know how to deal with laptop hardware problems.

    The b-52

There's no need to drop it if it can still do its job. (Dropping tons of bombs of countries with little or no AA defenses) Can't see them being commitied agaisnt any serious AA equipped country without being blown to peices, but they are great for blowing the crap out of 3rd world countries.

"US Air Force fighter 'community' shaken"

Though you will, in most airforces, not be allowed in if you wear glasses when you enlist most will make allowances for glasses during your career. After all, as a fighter pilot, they have invested in you training wise in quite large manner. In the dutch airforce they can even have your helmets visor cut like a lens so you dont need glasses while flying Correct. You can go half blind when your in and they won't kick you out! 4 of my instructors wore glasses when flying, although they would always try to hide them behind their visor! The regulations for eyesight are for new recruits. Experienced pilots are too valuable to kick out when their vision goes a little.

What video card do you recommend?

9800 Pro's are getting so cheap now you would be a fool not to get one! For this generation of cards, Radeon came out on top easily, but no-ones sure what the next batch will be like. Go for a Radeon, and try to pick up a 9800Pro. The GeForce cards simply haven't got the same raw peformance.

"US Air Force fighter 'community' shaken"

MiG 29 has no legs on it. The Sukhoi has a very large internal fuel supply.

"US Air Force fighter 'community' shaken"

There was a proposal a while back to equip the US Navy with Su27's under license, but with US engines and avionics. Strangely enough it got shelved immediatley. Shame, the Sukhoi is a bloody fine peice of kit, and has an outstanding airframe.

Purple powder thrown at uk pm

Didn't the guy throw an egg at him, so Prescott just turned round and lamped him in the face. They thought it would be bad PR, but everyone loved it! Ho hum.... Remove image tags when quoting images please.

    The Middle East part 2

If that is the case then please sent in the mail a check with the payment of more than thousand billion dollars for all the various aid sent around the world. You might want to call the West Bank and the Gaza Strip for some money to help pay. That will probably fix the debt. You talking about what Bush did early in his adminstration. Won't wash buddy. If you claim to be the good guys, you have to act like it. By effectively sanctioning Israels actions, you are condoning ethnic cleansing. As for the cash, I'm sure the Palestinians love the emergency aid they recieve. They wouldn't need it if Israeli's didn't recieve BILLIONS in arms every year! What do you get back out of the deal? A shitload of bad PR. Don't you feel a bit pissed off that your tax money is being given away, when there is so much that needs doing in the US anyway? If they tried doing that here we would revolt! Aid is great, and a noble thing. I respect the US for that Arming people to kill others is morally wrong. Too many Governments do it.

    The Middle East part 2

Love your language.....butthead....... I'm normally quite reserved, but in this situation its apparant that stronger wording is required. I mean no offence to you, but your government can fucking rot for all I care. NO champion of 'freedom and justice' could allow this to happen. It's just fucked up politics, and weasly little fuckwits who buy themselves into power. When the rest of the world condems these actions, the US government just coughs, and says 'play nicely'.

    The Middle East part 2

Someone has to do something. Perhaps the EU could get involved as a whole. Fuck the US. The amount of resolutions veto'd by them is rediculous, mostly to please voters. The Jewish lobby should either class themselves as Jewish Americans and reside in the US, or Jewish Israelis and reside in Israel. Using your citizenship of one country to influence it's foreign policy of another country you feel you belong to is wrong. I was christened catholic, but I don't vote in a way thats beneficial to the vatican. I'm British.

Purple powder thrown at uk pm

Shame, today was quite a good debate. (Rather savage though, as always!) Did see the part when he addressed the Palestinian delegation? I'm glad the UK has made its stand on recent events. If only the US would do so in public. (then again, imagine Bush in the UK parliment at question time. Ho ho ho ho ho)
