    Hi and welcome Hollywood_67! :) What is the rest of your PC specs? ARMA2 is pretty hardware hungry so if you can be sure to find as powerful videocard as you can for the money you have. Its well worth it as you have a game that last a very long time with its great gameplay, editor and tons of addons. Depending of what your specs is you might have to upgrade more of your PC in order to enjoy ARMA2 fully.

    New recoil, please make it go away

    Now if we could get recoil in more of the vehicles main guns as well. Shooting closeby will shake the optics as you get the "grenade shake", but firing long distance and the optics are completely still. Recoil shake in the optics on all vehicles please. :) And yes, i like the on topic recoil as well.

They dont care about their "current" fanbase (if there is any?) which was clear with the last failure, but always moving ahead and selling it to new unaware customers (if there is any these days?). Those who know about the failure buy into the advertisement lies over and over again. Hearing RR will have XP upgrades hints of BFBC2 instantly, and its a great game if you want fast blasting hollywood action but no where near a war sim, and RR is probably aiming for an improved BFBC2 in terms of idea (at least what ive seen). The execution will be fun to see. Got no hope whatsoever though - not with a creative director straight from kindergarden.
  5. So that means your turning off wheeltracks + shadows which of course will remove more stuttering. You dont really know how much the tracks take off since you lower the shadows globably as well. But yes i agree it would been nice with more separate options to tailor the game after your hardware.

  7. Please edit your first post in the future as we do not allow multiple posts in a row. Just easier to read the threads that way. Bumping not allowed either. About your problem. Did you check gameplay settings and subtitles? There are radio subtitles that has to be on to see that i believe. However they should be on if you never changed anything, but check anyway. Secondly, did you install any addons? If yes try without and see if it works. All i can come up with right now.

    Extreme lag

    Try delete the ARMA2OA.CFG located in your documents and settings. Then restart the game and go into the video options and set everything back as you had it. Try that and see.

    Nice soundmod you got here. I have one complaint and thats the wind. At least i think its the wind and its just a "white noise" which constantly goes up and down in volume. I can hear it resembles wind, but maybe in very low quality and therefor is sounding like white noise. Stand in takistan alone and just listen and you should hear it. Im using Xfi and high quality headphones. Another thing is the abrams engine sound which is truly a great piece of work, but i think it should be a bit louder. Hard to hear it even when its fairly close. Compared to a T72 that you can hear maybe 3 times further away. Love the sound of it though. Great work. Havent got the time to test everything in the mod but so far i like it a lot. Maybe could add some incoming sounds on the arty shells like VOP? Super mod. Keep up the great work. Cheers.

  12. He sure had. Very nice function. Basically simulating a sniper getting into concealment with a semi transparent camo "net" over himself. If you shot your rifle the concealment would be ineffective for a little period of time to go back to full again. Very nice. DM again please? :)

    Havent had time to test this seemingly great soundmod yet, but i have a tips for explosion sounds that can be mixed in to get a violent bassy bang, and that is looking for high quality sound files from big fireworks on youtube. I think i have some at my home so ill check for that when i get the chance (vacation atm so things move slow). But what to look for is that BANG when big fireworks explode, and ive heard some great quality ones on youtube. Mix together with a proper explosion sound and you have amazing sounds for it. :) Thank you for your work.

    How to use mods

    Make it in between the expansions in the target box. Right click the OA:CO shortcut, properties, and in the target box where the game exe path is you can see at the end of it that it loads the expansion and BETA. There are two things it loads separated with a semicolon ";" right after that semicolon you add the mods. Sorry im not at home so i cant see the exact modline, but something like: In the target box: "C:Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ARMA2\.......EXE" -mod=C:\Expansion\Beta;Expansion\bla bla bla So in between this: -mod=C:\Expansion\Beta;@MOD1;@MOD2;Expansion\bla bla bla Thats how i did it and it works. Shouldnt be put before as the BETA should load first, and when i add it to the end the mods dont load at all - for me personally anyway. Test if it works. If you cant get it to work due to me being incorrect here (at work) then ill plot it out when i get home unless someone else beats me to it. :)

    Recoil (again)

    Turning weapon recoil off is not an option. That will be cheating as it gets easier for those who turn it off. However as said - if newcomers have problems with it then at lower settings (recruit or lower) the recoil can be friendlier. Personally i love the recoil. I hit everything i want to hit and it feels more "alive" than just going up and to the right everytime plus re-centers perfectly. Too easy imo.

    Maybe someone mentioned this before, but i had a 10 man team i was leading and 2 times we were hit when inside a vehicle and all injured. Alive but needed medic attention. And everytime i as a leader have to tell my medic to take care of each and every unit. So: "7, heal that machine gunner". "7, heal that marksman". "7, heal that...". You get the idea. Wouldnt it be better with a command that heals all injured? Like "7, Take care of the wounded." And so the medic - in his own time - takes care of them 1 by 1. Just like now, but without we as leaders having to press 47 million buttons to get it done. Just an idea. Might be worthy of a feature/suggestion ticket.
  19. Sounds like a good patch. The nr.1 lag/stutter thing in OA is the grass on my PC. So much that i run without grass mostly wich isnt optimal as i dont want the advantage. If this helps somewhat - thats a really good thing. :) Cheers BIS.

  21. The module in itself with garbage collector and functions plus unit with 0% probability is not enough to kick this off right? I have to use the example mission to get it working if i understand it properly? And thanks big time for this. Seems great. :)

    Latest Beta Patch: 72107

    Anyone else gets crashes that gives a black screen only? Sound continues and i have to ctrl+alt+del to get out of it. Happened a lot since first OA version. There is no crash log either when this happens. Used everything from 1gb-6gb pagefile. Going to try and up it some more and see if that helps.
  23. Yes, please let him try to do his thing. An idea though could be to start smaller and see how that works out? Maybe make a couple of units (squad) or a vehicle. To assemble a big team to make a large mod is not an easy task im sure. Not only because of the material that needs producing, but also the management/project leading between all people involved. Its a bit harder to manage when the work is all over the net as things can happen sometimes that you wont know about. people can fall off the net for different reasons for example, and their work can be lost as you cant get in touch with them. Something to think about at least. It would'nt be defeat if the first project was a smaller one that can expand over time as you say. But to start off with a squad or a vehicle would probably be better (and easier), and during that work you grow an understanding of the work/management needed to continue making the mod bigger. And it might be easier to get people to join if the goals are a bit more clear/closer than the 2 year dead line super mod (whole UK army) you have as a goal now. :) I wish you good luck however. EDIT: Pathy was faster. And knows more than me about modding. :)
  24. Sounds very good Rock. Have been taking out some vehicles with the sweet Typhoon of yours that were miles to the sides of me. Had done a TAB lock and then keep flying without remove that lock and then tried to bomb something in front of me. Guess my surprise when a tank explodes far to my left when im the only blufor in there. :D That way you explain it should be the next best thing. Thanks guys. :)
