    If visitor indeed created all your layer parts without any error, then i have to say too, check you paths in the layer.cfg but also check all rvmat files, both in data and layers folders, Maybe your mask_lco.png might be using different undefined colors ?? Later, Allie

    Dont you dare change the engine !!!! Its the best there is, and the creating of realistic terrain is possible since ofp 1.0 Tryed the crysis demo yesterday and sure its a nice game, but it is something completly different. There is nothing to compare OFP, ARMA or VBS with !!! Only thing i'm wondering about with the BROS. is what the deal is with codemasters, who has the rights?     ROADS !!! Ok found out that the SIL* parts even on Sarhani itself DONT work, no road sound and dust and roughness from textures underneith road. So its not i am doing things wrong then !!!! Sil road parts are fckd !!! Hope to have some time during the week to try and explain how to define custome settings on textures and objects. Later, Allie

    I'm waiting for Sakakah to be working on dedicated server before i start fooling around with removing the water ! We are still not sure if this has any influence on the dedicated server exe. I will remember it, dont worry, and maybe in upcomming release we are able to do it. Theres so much more to learn here, i cant fix all at once Later, Allie

    Ok so far so good, Really happy about the first really good tests on the island for playability on dedicated server and under some load of ai's running and driving around. No major problems reported so far, no probs with viewdistance set to 5000, no lag with really some ai's fooling around on island. Have not a lot of time the comming weeks but i will go on with it. Hope you all have fun on it, and i hope to see some nice missions, for now i can say Fraghaus is hosting the island on its dedicated server, 1 test playable map on there for now, but this will change over hours, so dont worry.     Dont worry i wont i just need bit of a break for now, there is a new release ftp://ftp.fraghaus.com/arma/addons/borderlitepbo.rar This is the second release, so only the beta and this release are out now. There is probebly 1 more release on the way made by somebody else, i trust this guy and he understands the meaning of the map, so this will probebly be a nice version too. Myself will keep on working on the original one and will release it under a different name maybe. Busy taking pictures for my next project so dont worry i wont stop, but i go play a bit now instead of editing Later have fun. Allie

    mate i have completly replaced your cpp with one of myself of which i know it should work, but NO result, i doubt if it has to do with the config, havent got a clue on where to look then.     DONT use the normal editor in game, go to MULTIPLAYER and then NEW, edit from here!!!! When using the description file you also need a marker for respawn. Marker name : Respawn_West

    I'm using SIL parts, no problems, except that i cant define any sound to that road. But again it is showing ingame for me, so maybe you still have some Paths not defined right ? dunno then Later, Alphons

    In buldozer you can RIGHT CLICK and rotate !!! In visitor select object, go in buldozer, object will be selected, now rightclick and drag, this will rotate object to any angle you like. Later, Allie

    I have to say that i didnt find any real problem with the road tool thingy, i was able to overlay the road almost perfect over the sat road. Sure 100% is hard but with a bit of trail and error its not bad. Used the "sil" parts for it, even a quite tight U turn is possible with the Radius 25m ones. Placing them in visitor is not hard, just drag the popup windows away and you can see your road grow, have to press apply tho. Other roads i used the dirt parts. One thing tho, here we go again, srry I was able to define Dust and roughness for the "ces" parts, but NOT the "sil" parts, even, the "sil" parts dont have any sound setting at all, i hear the sand from the texture under them? Anybody any idea ?? Thanks, Allie

    I'm really sorry, but i'm getting sick and tired of these tools. From solving one problem, you will role into the next. I'm gonne take a break of this, if theres is somebody willing to take over the project let me know.   20. You have a: sat_lco.png, Mask_lco.png, Maplegend.png and a layers.cfg, yes ? all put in P:\Mymap\source Now in P:\Mymap\data you have all detailed texture files (png's) and some Rvmat files ? I'm not sure if visitor will change all detailed texture files to .paa files automaticly but if NOT, you should convert all .png's in the data folder to .paa files, then open up the Rvmat files and change all .png to .paa, be sure the paths are right. Then you should also change the paths in the layer.cfg file. you can leave the LEGEND as PNG. Thats it. later Alphons

    GIJOE94 where do you put the border.pbo file ? Never heard anybody about the island is crashing the game. Update on map: Very good results yesterday on the last little problems i had with the map. It will be released within 2 weeks for sure, trying to get it out sooner.     OK back at the office, Tryed some different stuff yesterday evening, and the results are :........ You are completly right about not beeing able to overwrite default textures, i renamed mine and all is fine. About the roads, the dirt tracks(ces* parts) you CAN change, the silnice* parts you CAN NOT change. Theres probebly some default objects that are definable. I'm really happy and want to thank you again Fased, the thing about overwriting default stuff did the trick. Release of my map will be within 2 weeks, then we have a very nice high detailed 10km desert map. Later, Alphons

    Update on map, Hope to release a the final map within 2 weeks. Theres some more settlements, couple roads and dirttracks, fully operational airport(ILS), more vegetation, better drivebility for vehicles off road, better colors on textures. Still some work needs to be done, but i really think to be ready within 2 weeks from now. Later, Allie

    ok, this is what i mean, great, i have been fooling around with it for quite some time now. I will check this out tonight again, and indeed change my texture names maybe. I hope i can produce a result, rest of island is done, its just the fact that i wanted a desert map where vehicles at least can drive true without to much dust and bumps. I have alrdy tryed different combinations of the same, but never tryed change names of textures, and i indeed use default textures so maybe this is gonne work.
