Discuss about .cpp is interesting, but don't forget 3D and textures ! I know SIG or RHS armored, but I always ripped them and modified model parameter : I take back BIS default model Of course new model look better, but they have TOO MANY polys (or perhaps too large texture resolution?). A battle with a bunch of SIG_XX tanks decrease dramatically my frame/second rate, while it's still low-consumer CPU with BIS's tank. So for the incoming addons, I just hope addon-makers will make more efforts with optimization

Better than constructive criticism, constructive acts : I draw wound textures (rebels models) and I made a try, but I can't see any results I tested many things and I don't think the bug come from a mistake inside the config.cpp ...I don't understand what's going wrong! that's turn me mad Could someone try to insert a wound texture and report back ? (even without real wound texture, just to check if it work or not)

FIA Mod is not really a mod like FDF did, it's just few addons gathered in a single .pbo Suchey,Earl,and Tactician work on an amazing Marpat/Russian addon (see "Modern USMC" thread) I have the will to release Resistance side units, and make them conform or normalized with their criterias Preview : AK-47 and AK-47 Grenade Launcher, models and textures by Inquisitor (from High Detailled Weapon Pack 1.1) -New sounds RPK-47, model and texture by Inquisitor (from High Detailled Weapon Pack 1.1) -New sounds RPG-7, models and textures by Kegetys (from Russian Weapons Pack 1.1) -New sounds -standard PG-7 Anti-Tank grenade, + OG-7 antipersonnel grenade (AI is able to firing OG-7 on enemy infantry) -Superheated gas feature : You should NOT stay behind RPG-7 while gunner firing, the shockwave could wound you (you need approximately 4-5 meters security range) Molotov Cocktail, they burn during 10 secondes, you'd better not stay too close or you will be wounded you and probably killed if you don't move back -custom crater/flame Morphine injection,Each unit class could pick/carry/use morphine, it's heal a very little once you used it (1/10), so Medic units are still necessary. But by re-setting global setdammage, you might stand up again if your legs were hit and keep fighting beyond your pain Smokeshell occult AI vision (AI cannot see through it)

Edge wanted to release his own unit before FIA_1 because he didn't want to wait, I understand and agree him. But the units his made are slightly different and more diversified than those he made for FIA_1. So in every case FIA_1 addon will have its own .p3d (that's why I requested help -> modeler) PS: thx to SelectThis tips, FIA_1 could be compatible with MP

Tracer effect is only a "ball" flying along bullet trajectory, without releasing any trail behind, so unfortunelly the tracer effect is not impressive with this angle of view like blackdog~ suggest I have to admit that BIS tracer look much better in this case. But I remember the first use of tracer is to see where you hit, and not admire side light ray. So in the way I made it, it's perfect when you firing on something in your sight I didn't find how to set a round tracer between delimited intervall, they are spawned randomly (with a ratio) -- I look for a modeller, someone skilled with Oxygen. I would like to have new infantry models instead old BIS resistance I have. If you are interested, please send me a Private Message

I understood new weapons class inheriting from "put" or "throw" original class are UNAVAILABLE with multiplayer. Because of OFP core limits. The only way to make them work properly with MP would be to launch game with a tweaked config.cpp inside \Bin folder, AFAIK it was done only one time by... FDF mod. You understand I haven't the required skills neither time to proceed in the same way they did. So my addon will remain unavailable with MP I know anybody would like to download and use a such addon, unless if a quality SP campaign is provided. So I've decided to convert the best campaign involving FIA units : Resistance.pbo by BIS New FIA units,new FIA weapons, what's about Soviets ? I'm sure you heard about Digital Grenade addon, me too, I just wait for it. Once it will released I could modify it and then I could work on resistance campaign conversion. Edge planned to release soon his own addon, with units you saw in previous screenshots, without any of my features but with Inquisitor weapon + JAM. I guess he will ensure full compatibility with MP

some news for you : Shotgun : model/texture by BIS (Kozlice), but new code (double barrel) and new sounds. Skorpion : model/texture by BIS, but news sounds and new code About the code : When I played Resistance campaign, I've noticed AI often switch primary weapon to handgun when engage enemy at medium/close range. Switching weapon require animation, wich is often deadly because unable to firing while animation time. Hopefully I fixed that AI will use handgun only if their primary weapon is unavailable or out of ammo Mine : model/texture by BIS, but unexploited...the TM-62M new code --- I found a way to reduce CPU load for tracer I made a little movie to show you how it looks. (The capture movie require low resolution and the DivX compression affect quality, I can guarantee you it's much better "in game") TracerTest 4Mo

pretty old...I gave up Vietnam addon since I know OFP2 will set Vietnam conflict. But if someday we have a decent Skyraider with big bomb, I could maybe retail it with napalm

1) In your case every condition/check for all differents ammo could affect CPU load...but I don't really know, because I never encounter a such problem with my only 3 weapons class I suggest to define only one ratio (1/3) for every weapon; and to duplicate the script (one for green tracer + one for red tracer). It could resolve the problem : only one EH and no ammo check! East unit class will call GreenTracer.sqs, and so West unit class will call RedTracer.sqs ... Of course you understand that if a East unit pick a West weapon, he still firing green tracer  2) There isn't any recursive loop, and drop particle is very soft with CPU load, the script itself while running is cool with CPU. Now about the instance step (I mean -Open the script/execute the script/close the script-) I proceed to a test : 30 units with RPD Vs 30 units with RPD (during 20 seconds) (RPD have good rate of fire, high-moderate dispersion and tracer ratio 1/3) Frames: 481 - Time: 20329ms - Avg: 23.660 - Min: 15 - Max: 32 30 units with PK Vs 30 units with PK (during 20 seconds) (Original PK from BIS) Frames: 667 - Time: 20319ms - Avg: 32.826 - Min: 27 - Max: 42 * Config : XP 1800+ , GeForce 4200 , 512 RAM ** My current script have an additional jammed condition/check, but even if I would have remove it I think I will still loose approximately -10 FPS when using tracer script IMHO it's acceptable, according to the fact that huge battle with 60 AI/player with machine gun are quite rare

About ARENA, you should simulate its own explosion (and smoke/dust -> you seem very competent for that ) when the enemy missile is destroyed, a kind of little explosion effect on the top of the system with a particular sound. So we could understand that the missile has been intercepted and neutralized by a defensive explosion. With your current beta I thought missile was stopped by an invisible wall A little bug, I've noticed it on BTR-80 : it's too heavy/powerfull, I mean I can drive and run inside a M113, BMP, Shilka, M2A2... and push them away at high speed!

Edge and myself still working on it. I desesperatly look for a good hunt civilian double barrel shotgun or a sawn- off shotgun, but I didn't find... I think I should just re-use Kozlice shotgun

FIA weapon couldn't anymore be compatible with JAM... I know, I said it will at least for AK... Sorry for those which disapproves. Let's me to give you the explanation : I scripted a new tracer effect (not really finished, but near) no more draw everywhere. I can't give you screenshot because the effect is too quick and you must to see it in game to appreciate it. I could spawn tracer effect for 1/5 rounds (or 1/3 for MG?) -not regular but as ratio- I asked to BAS to make no tracer ammunition for JAM update but they didn't want. So I can't add my tracer effect + BIS tracer effect (it would be too much!) About the script itself, no-loop/no-createvehicle only a "drop", it will not stress CPU Anyway I will re-use JAM's ballistic values and hit sounds for AK-47 to remain conform with other JAM-compatible addon

I love the shotgun idea, and I think I know the sawed double barrel shotgun you talking about. Unfortunely it is not good enough (no offense to the author), the model could be much better and there are not enough different texture parts. Crossbow...no, it's just some commando folks. I didn't see any Mujahdeen/IRA/Palestinian or any other guerilla soldier with crossbow in hands

I didn't know that, I just saw on TV tracer fired by Serbians and recently by Iraqis they were redish-yellow... If whatever its commonly known that Soviet tracers are green, well ok even if the actual green color is too...green I know that but it would be more interesting to have default riffle magazine without tracers (and so for untweaked config's cadet server), and at the same time riffle magazine with tracer for night situation
