Yeah, I noticed that. I wonder why that is? I don't get the problem on my XP partition but do in Vista. So odd. I did another clean install and updated to 1.12. Only Vista has the issue. I am running 174.74 drivers on both.

Happens all the time with Vista and my 9800gx2, makes the game unplayable. I installed ArmA on my XP partition and ran around a bit and it did not come up at all. Hope they fix this... but with ArmA2 coming I wouldn't count on it.

Are you getting the HDR issues as well? Video of the problem: Or is perhaps it is just SLI (9800gx2) and Vista in ArmA?

Vista Troubleshooting Thread: The one and only

My system: Home/Gaming PC: e8400~3.6Ghz/GA-X48-DQ6/G.SKILL 4GB/P182/(5x)Scythe S-FLEX fans/Corsair750TX/9800GX2/SB X-fi/WD6400AAKS 640GB/WD7500AAKS 750GB/SAMSUNG DVD±R SH-S203B/dualboot Vista64-XP New install of Game and OS. I am getting horrible HDR flickering and screen corruption (White out, fades to black and then back to normal). No matter what I try it comes back all the time. Using 174.74 drivers and all other drivers are up to date. As a side note the game World in Conflict uses tons of HDR and I got no errors of any kind, the games runs perfectly and it is equally or more demanding than ArmA. Since I have dual boot I tried the game in XP and guess what? No flickering/HDR problem! So, this seems to be only in Vista, of which I have Vista 64. I'd still much rather run the game in Vista as it my main OS, but this is at least information. Video of the problem: Any help? Thanks! -

Is there any fix for this? Basically it means I can't play the game at all. I set my 9800gx2 to SingleGPU mode and I've tried every setting I can think to try and it always happens. This is a clean new install of the OS and the game. My specs: Home/Gaming PC: e8400~3.6Ghz/GA-X48-DQ6/G.SKILL 4GB/P182/(5x)Scythe S-FLEX fans/Corsair750TX/9800GX2/SB X-fi/WD6400AAKS 640GB/WD7500AAKS 750GB/SAMSUNG DVD±R SH-S203B/dualboot Vista64-XP Any ideas or is ArmA just a broke old game that I can't play? Sucks. Update1: Ok, since I have dual boot I tried the game in XP and guess what? No flickering/HDR problem! So, this seems to be only in Vista, of which I have Vista 64. I'd still much rather run the game in Vista as it my main OS, but this is at least information.

Vsync on or off has not made a difference. Unfortunately I don't think I can play ArmA because of this issue, a waste of a purchase. Is there a way to run the game in single GPU mode with a 9800gx2 and if so what is the best way to do this? Because I still got the flickering when I set the profile to SingleGPU, and are we sure this is SLI related? Thanks.
-
Any fix for it? I went to the driver settings and set it to Single GPU but I still had the problem show itself about 1 min in to the game. I didn't really see a FPS difference either. Is SLI not working as well?
-
Using VOIP sometimes I get an odd reverb on the voices or they seem to become very muffled. Is there a conflict with EAX or is something else going on? I am using Vista 64, X-fi with Alchemy and latest drivers.
-
Is this from SLI? I think I am having this issue. Beta 1.12, Vista 64, 9800gx2 174.74 drivers using ArmA SLI default profile in driver settings, X-fi w/latest drivers. New clean install of both the game and the OS. No other games have this problem including ones that use a lot of HDR such as World in Conflict. Like the OP in this thread.. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=71824

I have the OP problem as well. Any way to fix it? I have a v1.12beta 9800gx2 Vista 64 and the latest vid drivers. I am using the profile for SLI that is default in the 174.74 drivers. Thanks.

New to the game and I am going through the training missions. I get to the tank training mission and when I am supposed to be the commander it puts me outside of the tank with no way to get in. I tried 3 times now. Any help? Thanks! Update: Tried a 4th time and it worked. Very odd.
