    Ask a mod

Why dont we ... have a thread dedicated to military photos. I mean not simply to expose them but to discuss them. Week after week I see new threads that have to do with one picture only and it often is ashame that those "picture-discussions" are not grouped together. Take this russian tank for example. I would like to ask a few questions about this extended armour... but is it worth to open a new thread just for one pic? I doubt that!

Battlefield 2 announced by ea gamges

you got my vote! but, if I am informed correcty then the game will apply map size to participating players. In other words 20 upwards and you got access to the city-surroundings too.. less than that you will be trapped in the city center.

Manhunt game withdrawn from UK Store

ah come on, there is a slight difference between UT and Manhunt... If you dont see this difference then I may assume you dont have a clue about out argumentation It is like "knifes" are weapons too, if you ban guns you should ban knifes too.

Manhunt game withdrawn from UK Store

we are not talking about "games" in general but about what "some" games might have as an impact on "some" people. I dont know how you people were brought up but I wasnt allowed to watch horror films and I wouldnt have been able to play this game either. Dont want to judge what these things can do to a teenager but we all remember those freaks from school that loved Karate-films and were allowed to watch anything they wanted. And yes, they turned out freaks (well actually they always were). I sincerely believe in a certain protection of the sensitivity-level of teenagers. Dont spoil them with too much realism too early, they are gonna turn adult early enough!

Double that. Compaq benchmarks suck! Â Go for Dell, their game-benchmarks are always superior to all competitors in their price-category

    Us presidential election 2004

This country is realy special. The presentation of the Kerry resembled a baseball match. People dressed funnily, popcorn, peanuts, refreshments ... and a pretty say-it-all-without-saying-anything speech... a little Hollywood film presentation about Kerry's heroic life. Hell, do that in germany and the press would kill you and the voters would think you are a candidate of the carnival festival!

    Sudan Crisis

true true.. I was counting up colonies in general. Tried to show off a little by surprising you all "yes we had colonies.. and not too few". Kamerun was governed by germany for over 30 years. The administrational structures as well as the infrastructure was built by germany, South Africa got Kamerun through the Versaille Treaty and that is about it, AND they screwed it up pretty badly untill 1966. Now we still got Helgoland left!

    Sudan Crisis

German colonies such as Neu Guinea, Samoa, Kamerun, Togo, Sansibar (Tansania) and Namibia are now amongst the most stable and organised african states per se. And the transition was carried out peacefully. Now you can blame germany for a lot of historical misery but colonial wise we have comparably better references. (though there were some bloody times) Better dividing Africa? I have the slight impression that you have never been there. A large extent are normads, wich means they dont care much about borders. Secondly people in africa live where the water is. Thirdly is the cultural seperation of opposing tribes near to impossible. Fourthly is the lack of birth control much more of a problem than allocation of farm-land. Fifth...most of the countries are destroying themselves with corruption.

    Sudan Crisis

Huh ? What rock are you living under ? You may want to check the nationalities of the companies nowadays that exploit africa. It´s a worldwide cake. But when these countries left Africa they left an instable country with a weak and unstable government wich is part of the problems in Africa. This conflict is about belief and religion and supported by the government, isn't it the fault of the countries who left Africa, (and who actually put the government there) that they left the country with so many problems? And now you have modern imperialism by compagnies instead of countries. Wich obviously plays a big role in the problems too. Sorry buddy, but colonies were rarely left in a bad state. The truth is much more concerning, the earlier the independance was given to those nations the worse they look now. Sure, most colonial powers enforced their ways of runing things on these mostly stone-age cultures. Unfortunately they never had the time to find their own way to the industrialisation age. But Zimbawe and Co. are perfect examples of what happens once you return souvereignity to them. European nations are to blame that the eco-system was disturbed ... but they cant be blamed for the current situation. This cultural diffusion has led to the fact that tribal wars are suddenly fought with AKs and this lack of peace and security is the main reason of poverty. (can you please explain to me why former german colonies now look so bad? In what extent?)

    Jail break in Sweden

If a criminal breaks this law then so be it.. shit happens. But to heavily arm all guards because of would/should/could is the wrong precautious measure. This would on contribute even more to rising brutality in crimes. Now and then a criminal goes crazy..sure... but overall it is still much safer without armed guards everywhere.

    For Hard-core RTS fans only

It looks pretty awesome to me! Sorry but I dont need games in which I can scroll down to 100%, I prefer a good overview over the battlefield. well as I said... I would buy it!

Why do WW2 games do not have swastikas?

Ragdoll would be a great effect for a new KungFu game ... wouldnt it? Personally I laughed realy hard every time I saw someone blow up in RTCW. I remember several occasions when people pushed me aside to be the first to reach the battlefield. They overtook me, ran around the corner.. and then the next moment I saw their bloody bones flying around the corner. Comedy at its best.

    The toughest game in history

I realy played lots of games during my 19 years of being in contact with computer games and I must admit there were some which are/were realy hard to beat. Do you remember Civilisation I/II/III and how hard it was to succeed in the king and higher difficulty-level? Or what about some tough Operation Flashpoint missions, YES there were tough ones! Max Payne? Final Fantasy VI? Lemmings? Myst? And no, chess games dont count! Dont despair, a little internet game for you that you will hardly crack!

Why do WW2 games do not have swastikas?

BS! That is not a swastika and it is very well allowed in Germany. Google for Swastika and you know what we are talking about. The "Hakenkreuz" is forbidden in Germany, but that is about it.

Why do WW2 games do not have swastikas?

Besides being illegal some kids could assume that Swastikas are cool!

    Flashpoint looks great!!!

lol, my old one (P4 1.3) only works every third time you start it cause usually it doesnt even start to boot, in other words it stops right at the "INTEL" screen.
