Well you are kicking your own ass there  . So you are saying that students nowadays have less money available to pay their education? Let me just summarise what poverty line means $9,000 fir a single person and $18,000 for a couple and 2 kids. This measure is not taken from what you earn but from what you have available for living. Now I must say if an independant student has less than 9000 dollars available per year then he must be a pretty poor bastard.. and how can he achieve to study like that? If this is realy your youth..well then I might assume that only the rich will be able to survive 4 years of education. And those are called the Republican-elite! No wonder those voters hate us and call us euro-socialists. Seems the term "social" is an insult for them! For us it isnt! Secondly this poverty line is 12% in the US vs 6% in France (CIA World Factbook). BUT in France they at least socially support people that cant live from what they earn. In the US, once you are below that line... you have reason enough to kill yourself cause noone is gonna help you out of that misery . Pretty sad standards for a nation that in the past used to help my little country again back on its feets.. dont you think? But of course the republican press will always interpret it the following way and I can only laugh when I read this statistical castration of facts yeah sure!

yeah, you can just hear the guy allmost panic  . under fire and still telling guy's you don't even know what's going on...  wow! also that russian LMG fire was followed by some guy making "noises" , injured? also:  one of the guy's that was taken outside was shouted "terrorist!" at, meaning the russians ARE making progress. what how when.. is that anywhere online?

I think I remember the prototypes of this plane... it all started like that ... I am happy the development took a lucky turn!

I can do better   wait up I love the way these vets like to sum things up. This nation feels the desperate need to summarise, simplify, wrapping it up and to standardise everything. In Germany we discuss about tiny percentages in tax changes when it comes to choosing a party... in the US the topics are bigger and more impulsive!

Oh that is realy awesome. Now the hot season of the pre-election time has started. I can feel it in any american newssource, I can smell it in any semi-political forum. People getting more extreme, more insultive, more demagogic, more extremist and more and more angry. Awesome to watch that.. In some forums the threads read like: Kerry xxx coward xxx Gay libs... Bush shelters saudi terorist.... war on teror is republicans duty ....veterans for Bush ...veterans pro Kerry ...european terorist-sympathisers wish Kerry to win ... You think they pay people to campaign online and promote either side in forums?

Look buddy... even CNN makes mistakes ... it is OFP And I always thought I knew where switzerland lies... where did I live all those years

Last week I refered to a german magazine checking for the most realistic war-simulation... well the discussion has turned into a different direction. I complained that other games often exaggerate the physical potential of soldiers. I said that jumping with compat gear is very difficult (combat gear approx 1/3 of bodyweight). What do you people think? Some of you guys with experience. What do you believe those soldiers on patrol in Iraq are carrying? I found a very interesting site on the issue and it said something like 25kg for the most important equipment only. Is Operation Flashpoint realistic with zero to no jumping capabilities or are other games considerably better? the link to an interesting site Soldiers and load (site has currently exceeded bandwidth..maybe in an hour..bookmark it)

I am working! Â Â Refer to your post later. I am not learning from movies nor will I stop watching them. However the gear carried by the soldiers in that film is realistic and comparable to the gear currently used in iraq. Therefore I may assume that this is an adequate footage-benchmark of how it may be carrying combat-gear in todays combat zones.

Actually I am not quite sure anymore. But I think Blackhawk down gave us a good impression on how the modern soldier is on foot. Maybe jumps are possible but the question remains... what does this option give you in a game. Is it a useful addition, is there any strategical significance to jumping?
-
holy I must have messed that up with 2006 .... damn.. dont work and play!
-
Now the author of this silly gamemag is telling in their forum that he ran 30km with 30kg in 180 minutes. Sounds a bit utopic or doesnt it?
-
people start petitions to collect e-mail addresses.. as simple as that!
-
Okay...jump jump jump ... a little higher..jump

Usually in combat the rule is that you should carry no more than 1/3 of your bodyweight. So if you dont want to go naked and decide to carry helmet, vest and gun then you will only have space enough for about 320 rounds. this is the obligatory load to keep you alive during 3x10 minutes firefight!

Please tell me.. I dont realy get your point about "prostesting against NAM". What was wrong about calling it dirty, inhumane and injustfull? This country was blown to dust! No communist ever harmed that nation as much as the US military did

Soldier's supportive jump equipment (also called landmine)

Oh no, it happened again. Another magazine voted for the most adequate war-simulation and guess what...they didnt even consider OFP. Sad enough cause the magazine "Gamestar" was always known for their independant judgements and know-how. They admited having done a mistake but the magazine is published and it is already to late to change it. Fact is they invited several military specialists who tested and voted for americas army. BUT they never played Operation Flashpoint. Please do me a favour and give some feedback to their forum (german feedback). It is the most famous magazine in germany and people out there need know. I guess I am not allowed to post a link to their forum (against the forum rules ) but you find it in "community" / "offene Foren" / "Meinungen zum Heft". You find the article here Gamestar Article

our comments are fair and polite.. actually we werent the first ones on that forum to mention OFP.
-
How do you think the crew got out of there after the accident?
-

good old days in the red army (not realy funny but worth seeing) Airforce fun Not realy funny  but ... well how did that happen.?
-
Give them a break. Bals might not like them (but hey tell me someone Bals likes ) .. but they are pretty decent in their comments and they voted Operation Flashpoint as best game of the year when it came out. They are pretty fair in their treatment. They openly declared Söldner as an insult to gamers and voted Resistance as one of the games with the most believable protagonists (of all times).
-
Strangely enough they made a real test with real military specialists (yeah right) and MOST strangely is the fact that one of their journalists is know to be an OFP Maniac. I guess sex, drugs and RocknRoll sells better.

Crappy maybe, so is "Bild" but the amount of readers it reaches is big. So dont let them spread so much nonesense. And from the past I know that they are actually man enough to mention a mistake in the next edition. BTW: Good post Burns! thx  i liked 1aSchnitzel´s long post.. is it anyone of you guys ? funny man! I wasnt striving for compliments when I refered to your post!   You dont have to boomerang that!
