Me got a question. If you are a soldier and you fear that a wounded soldier may hide a grenade or gun under his body. What is the correct action to take? What is the Standard Operating Procedure. I assume I would have a very loose finger too. I wouldnt be the one to shoot but I would have to ask my superior first. -------------------------------------------------------- What I find very very disturbing is that every teen from the age of 15 to men age 60 were not allowed to leave the city before the battle, ...and now we hear everyone who remained in the city was bascially a fighter, no real civilian casualties. Wait let me think that over again. So basically either every man in Faludja was fighting the US forces or they shot every man because age 15-60 means being a terorist. Do that to my hometown and I would first try to exit the city, but being pushed back because I am 27 I would grap a rifle, fight for my life, and definetly booby-trap myself. This battle declared all men to be terorists or turned all iraqis into resistance fighters. Let me give you the german solution, since I guess we are more competent. Seperate men from women, kill the men first and use the women to rebuild what you have destroyed before. SS standard procedure!

What? You need to register online, FULL STOP! And also, several people told me today that they basically have problems to register. Game-Forums are basically jammed today with concerns and error-messages. I tell you the community is angry and my post didnt only correspond to my personal attitude but to real FEEDBACK. Maybe you were lucky. Some of my friends had to remain 2 hours online and still nothing worked. And you ask me what is all the "fuzz" about? They are taking it too far. The only people laughing are those that regularily pirate games.
-
Come on, we all know that in a few weeks latest from now gamers will have found a solution to crack this game. And me, the person, who loves to buy the original copy in a shop and spend 45 EURO doesnt want to be punished. We have been told that the increased prices of games are due to the high amount of piracy. I am fine with that. But being a logical thinker I would assume that a piracy-safe game would therefore be a lot cheaper. Nonesense. Day by day software products are getting more restrictive. Reminds me of the patriot act. If we continue with this speed then in a few years we will be paying games by minutes played and enemies killed or bullets fired. I am exaggerating? Well there was a time there were no CD-keys nor silly problems with piracy-prevention software. What is next? The obligation to register a game with your entire details?

typical reply worth just one cent!

I would buy it but this online registration is just too much obligation. I AM BUYING A PRODUCT which is supposed to give me pleasure and at the same time must be convenient to use. What is that. First they dont let journalists check the game in their own offices before release and then this silly step. Screw you, I rather use the money to get wasted with a few friends!
-
I am not buying that game ... screw them! (wanna bet, I mean it)

Special considerations have been made. The guy should of not been put back in his unit a day after he got shot in the face. Â Him been uber-tense and knowing about wounded/dead iraqi insurgents who tend to blow up themselves up when coalition/iraqi forces come near them is a bad reciepe. Â BTW, I hope a anti-sat missile hits Al-jazeera sat. for showing the name. Edit: I know my ex-friend, a marine, wants to rep. him and so.....fuck you... Â Billybob. I am not saying that there are reasonable soldiers out there in the american army. But the situation they were put into is just too challenging. None of them has been prepared to understand the muslim rules, none of them has been taught that judging between a terorist, a resistance fighter and a civillian can be that tough. But those differences exist. Dont you feel a bit Vietnam there? A different culture, soldiers being dressed like civillians and the enemy using strategies that are somewhat slick. By now, you must be aware that the iraqi community is not convinced of the actions by the US military.
-
I wait for one who can post here and is still such a stranger to reality to defend this war being a success. Who believes that the current attacks have the purpose to protect the iraqi population from terorists. By now the soldiers see a sleeping terorist in every iraqi. Like a judge who can give the death penalty but is biased due to prejudice and bad experience.

When I was studying and a wasp came along then my concentration would be gone. I would build a nice holliday park, do some behavior research and try out what wheight she could pull. And the next day I would fail the test (nah... dont even think I have sadistic tendencies, never enjoyed hurting them)

What do you expect, kind of silly to send Marines on a humanitarian mission to teach the values of democracy. Faludja is fucked up. The people are frightened and civillians have suffered in great numbers. Noone seems to worry. killing children or just people that look like civillians is the american idea of "preemptive strike" well you never know, could be a terorist They were taught about the evil doers hijacking Iraq but they see that those fighters are capable to sympathise with the population. So like in Vietnam the enemy is not easy to recognise. They all look the same, quite a challenging for a person who was thought "not to think, trust your weapon, Marine!" Watching the footages that recently came out of Iraq it appears to me that those soldiers have lost grip with reality. Lots of Macho slogans, lots of inhumane perspectives. Texan Cowboys that can aim at civillians just because it "might" be a terorist. But the worst is, noone of their comrades would ask "what have you done?". Nothing left of the idea of cheering Iraqis that joyfully shout "hello Mister, hello Mister". But we all know the beautiful parades that are going to be organised for the returning heros that protected homeland security far away in Iraq. That fought for democracy and the liberty of the iraqi people. What a fucking yoke! Not blaming them. Most of these soldiers are not old enough to control and stabilise their character. Their education is limited to Fox and some few years no-show at school. How are they supposed to understand or digest what they are doing there. Naives Frontfutter! I am not amused.

nice footage there of the execution. Proud of your boys? Sure they are still in control over themselves, no Vietnam syndrom yet?
-
Real combat footage wmv approx 4 MB (any concerns about this video please pm, so I can take it out before a mod gets here. But I see no breach of forum rules)
-
The forum rules are too restrictive and therefore topic-titles too repetitive. For the old members it got kind of boring. Long to go till 2006 My only but important point of concern.

right and wrong. Fighting with babysteps will take you longer to reach the goal. But fighting an agressive war is definetly causing more damage. I dont see how a rapid war can, in the long run, save more lifes, please respond. Currently the dead line is the election. That is why the military is rushing. But otherwise an agressive war will create more enemies. Maybe not in iraq, but in other islamic nations. I think the logic of that is clear. The islam does not respect a western nation, even if it is as brutal as Saddam, we learn that lesson right now in Faludja. I must admit I am impressed by the fierce resistance. And in contrast to jihadists, these men FEAR FOR THEIR LIFES. This should teach you the lesson that those iraqis fight to death because the americans have created the image that all people of Faludja will leave the city dead anyway. The consequence: "if you die, die like a muslim man, with a weapon in your hand". Again right and wrong. The rush came from a growing enemy. Germany was developing new weapons with a technological speed very few other nations could compete with. Furthermore it was a war for teritory and resources. In Iraq there is neither a profit from gaining teritory nor from resources. So what is the rush for? Only for the election. However you are right with your example of WWII. And I tell you why In contrast, so long as we continue on the military and grand strategic offensive, we will be making Germany's blunder in both World Wars. We will appear so threatening to everyone else, states and non-state elements alike, that every victory we win will generate more enemies until, fighting a hydra, we go down in defeat. Washington needs a Bismarck, but in the camp of the neo-cons, all it can find are many Holsteins.

I doubt this invention will help the world to become a better place.
-
You stated inapropriate fighting techniques. And my point was that we have no basis of comparison! since no army in modern history fought a war like this. I trust my feelings that humans are capable of learning and I think the americans have had enough time to learn. What I blame the desaster on is not the fighting technique, but like in Israel I blame the approach.

They're sweeping it clear so I think not even civilians are left alone in the rear of the front lines but the whole city is probably emptied. I do think 15,000 is enough taken the estimated opposition of less than 5,000 is true when they've also got UAVs, tanks, artillery, helicopters, jets, and satellites and whatever at their side... Body armor alone probably plays significant part in reducing the casualties against lightly-armed opponents. Well of course it is enough if you use overwhelming and excessive force. Â Throwing white phosphorous and high explosive shells at entire city blocks with MLRS etc. will basically level the city and most people inside, civilians or fighters. So yeah, umm, great show, why not just run bulldozers over the whole area, or use chem weapons, same effect. Â These days seeing Americans in combat is one of the worst things ever, even though they can train the most, and have the best equipment, because they do not accept any casualties of their own, many many many innocents are killed instead through inappropriate combat techniques. I wouldnt bet on that. I am sure their regular war-experiences have given the americans a great competitive edge over all other armies in the world. They have been able to challenge and improve their logistics in practice and nothing can replace testing in action. With the experience gained from Iraq 2 they have created a highly professional army that is always ready for action without silly trial periods. If had read recently that germany develops rockets the pilots are basically never able to test. How could you find potential errors? Nah, be careful with your statement. We complain about one or the other thing but to fight and coordinate a war with more than a hundred thousand soldiers is a great challenge. And the americans have mastered it. Criticising in theory is easy, but in practice you dont have many options to chose from.

oooooh hot question! My guess: Blair, Chirac, Fischer...
-
I doubt that there is a "law" for it. But it definetly is a very sad faux pas and I think it is especially rude to do it deliberately. I guess there is no need to stress why this is butcher-diplomacy. Helmut Kohl often met with Gorbatchow after Jelzin came to power. He met with Miterand after Chirac won the election. I doubt that there is a rule not allow such meetings as long as they are privately held.

lol, what a kindergarden the white house has turned into. This president realy is from Texas.

Doom 3 sucks, the flashlight aint gonna change that.

I bought Vice City just a few days ago. It was pretty cheap so I thought I go for it. Awesome game with great Mods and addons available. This is the good thing about buying older games, it doesnt take you a second to find excellent prefectioned addons & Mods. Vice city, the graphics are embarrassing but the game is just great. Thumbs up!

not necessarily I must disagree, but maybe because I dont get what you mean and my english skills detereorate a bit each day And I must disagree in especially one point: Monte Carlo is not the dumbest method at all. To analyse the financial investments (e.g. closed ended funds) this is probably the most accurate method currently existing. There are only very few Financial Rating agencies capable of properly using it to estimate the outcome of an investment (especially if the investment has a realisation period up to 25 years). I dont want to say it is wise, nor am I capable to defend it with my semi-knowledge but it is definetly accurate enough for Moodies, Standard&Poors, Fitch.... Correct is that it does indeed create pseudo-samples, but with accurate and precise input it gives pretty realistic picture of e.g. a risk-reward relationship. It is applied and has proven that even pseudo-samples can draw a realistic picture. The way it is usually applied is that you list up all fact
