OFP2 and "armed assault" - what's up?Albert Schweitzer replied to Cpt. Quartal 2005. sorry, currently no time to translate, maybe later today

uh   did I miss something yesterday. I saw no insult?  Bals the stupid Sauerkraut german bavarian Lederhosen smurf I noticed one thing. How come there are only so few missions with Scuds? Why are there no tasks where we have to stop Scud convoys or Scuds from bein launched? Realy ashame, I miss them!

thats the sad thing, even though there are forums out there that make it possible!
-
I want to have a button next to every thread that makes jump directly to the last comment I posted. Like that it is easier to follow a discussion. Not even the search button lets me see on which page I posted last. That would have facilitated a lot of things for me!

well considering that this sign usually decorates pubblic toilets I think morale is still quite high!

You should almost always set the depth so that the torpedo detonates under the ship (pistol set on magnetic trigger). When it detonates under the keel, it inflicts massive damage that more often than not sinks the ship. That way you can sink even the biggest battleship with only one torpedo. To know what depth you should set the torpedo on, check the ship catalog and see at where the draft is and add one or two meters to it. sorry, you got me wrong. I consider the time trigger as an alternative solution if the torpedo does not explode when it should!
-
What I also noticed is to set the distance of the torpedos correctly. If the torpedo bounces off or goes below the ship then it will still explode right in time. You cant realy sink a ship with this emergency explosion all the time but you can definetly demobilise it!

I added new music wavs to the gramophone folder but it wont play them. Also, I didnt even find the option yet to chose an emblem.. or better.. into which folder do I need to put my own in?
-
Are you kidding me? Why the hell didnt you get Medal of Honour Pacific Assault then? The Graphics and athmosphere were breathtaking!
-
did you mention/see the trailer of Gothic3 or did you not? Well anyway you got the link now! http://www.worldofgothic.de/dl/index.php?go=downloads&file_id=153

Those games are getting dangerous, seriously! The higher the details, the more realistic the characters, the greater the world the more will one be stuck in this world. Players will go home, close the shutter and play till late at night. That might realy cause isolation! Â All this discussion about ego-shooters and the risk of increased agression is, in my eyes, less important. I think isolation and waste of time is much more of a risk!
-
Away from the topic but is the attitude that led to the bankruptcy of many great companies in the past! Dont run a company with these pearls of wisdom! Â But back to the topic. Of course it will remain your choice. I just thought that there are enough MP missions out there that would be damn interesting. But all we would need would be a few extra addons that were recently published. And there are other great Mods with multiplayer capabilities. That was just a suggestion!
-
due to the incredible degree of popularity I think it would be nice to enhance the level of addons a bit. So in order facilitate the process you should (as mention yesterday) create a downloadable file containing the most used missions. Secondly it would be great to introduce some new features. E.g. the retextured Malden, Mitthafen Island Olska Island that are soon to come out E.g. a Unit Replacement Pack like Y2k3!!!, FlashFX, FFUR which are realy a boost to combat athmosphere and realism! (and I rarely play without them anymore) E.g. the use of new animations (Dreamy nights), AI improvements E.g. the use of new units (e.g. KFOR), Wiesel, whatever (or maybe the FDF WW2 once it comes out!) I know that FDF has great advantageous. It rarely creates lags, there is a sufficient amount of missions and we all have it properly installed. So all in all the advantage is "we know it works". But shouldnt we go with the time and update our multiplayer settings correspondingly? It is probably gonna be a pain in the ass for the first few days but once it works smooth I think we would all enjoy this certain "Big Change". Of course this is only a suggestion. The server still belongs to CIA!

sometimes I am late, sometimes I am early. Anyhow. well if it was 50% in January than we might not be much further by now as BergHoff noticed!
-
Operation Flashpoint is not even 50% finished yet! News from yesterday!
-
DAS BOOT directors cut currently on ARD. Now I get all the commands in the movie, awesome!
-
looks good. make sure mouth, eyes and nose is at the right spot, Hardrock for example looks pretty strange from the sides. Can you show a larger screenshot of it?
-
Yes custom faces are helpful and they also make screenshots more exciting. I often use "look for Llauma face" as a navigation tool!
-
Okay, maybe a bit cheating but I also use the scoreboard to see if I hit the enemy of if he just got down. At long distance this can be helpful indeed. You throw a nade over a house and you are not too sure whether you hit something? Well in that case I use the scoreboard. But scoreboard to be seen only in the end wouldnt be bad.. But still it would have the same old effect: People go for points. Actually I think it is not the scoreboard that makes people ignore orders. It is simply the desire to participate in battle and take down soldiers. Damn I knew I shouldnt have mentioned it. Anyway, I am not a fanatic or something. But currently I like to play it once in a while since I needed a substitute for my SOF2 Online addiction!
-
updated first post in this thread, now directing to new adress!
-
Removing scoreboard.. just bureaucracy! The scoreboard is not my golden aim but a nice reward. Do whatever you wish, it is your server!
