I need an addon called "thehkpackbase" for a mission I made months ago. Unfortunately CZ is currently somewhat down so I have no access to any valid download address! Can anyone send it by mail or give me a (if necessary private) download address? Â Any advise would also be much appreciated! ---got it---

Well okay... someone should tell him!

has this been mentioned before? (the guy is asking whether these pics are a mod, ArmA or even OFP2) http://www.armedassaults.de/cms....ntid=17

English Translation of DOUPE 15 article
Albert Schweitzer replied to imported_bör's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
what exactly is your problem? Yes, go play Enemy in Sight, probably better for the Arma Community! -
well someone just record it for christ sake! I mean I would even dare to host the file afterwards but I fear traffic might skyrock.. we will see!
-
I will inform my neighbours that during the next 10 hours they should not get confused when hearing loud intensive war sounds. And I will turn up my speakers to max, and do a little tank-testdrive!
-
Well how do you explain my posts then?
-
you mean he should NOT try to recruit people here! Damn, you missed the most important word in that sentence!

Please welcome Raelian1 in our group ... we thank you for sharing your story with us, very touching indeed. And believe me I am absolutely sure that BIS is proud to have created the first computer game that appears to be of interest to aliens. If you are in contact with them, please thell them to try out the StarWars Mod. In case they are still light years away tell them not to hurry, it will take a while till Armed Assault is being released. Untill then we will probably be capable to travel lightspeed as well! I would also like to inform you about my religion, you can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster So who is next? Maybe someone from Scientology? Llauma? Denoir? Bals? Placebo?

I find this HIGHLY impressive! My father was professionaly active in a simillar field so I can assume how much brain power went into this. What is extrodinary is that this machine knows how to properly cross the legs when pushed to the side. There must be a hell of a software running to ensure this works! good post!

it is the same old trick they use in WWII movies. When a Messerschmidt flies up the sound goes up and when it goes down the sound goes down too. Thats what they do with the matches as well. The sound goes up, implying the matches are above you and it goes down when they are supposed to be below you! Not that tricky after all!

pah, those of us who grew up with voices in our heads are used to this stuff. Nothing special!

Uh... Isn't the unforgiveness of the game the reason why we all love it so much? Why'd you want to remove that? Keep OFP/ArmA hardcore, so we never encounter any of them mainstream buggers that are currently playing BF2, CoD, CS or some other crap FPS. Besides, Logitech makes a fortune out of OFP. Think of all the keyboards you've smashed because of that invisible sniper. We don't want to make Logitech go out of business, right? Absolutely. That is the reason why I loved Operation Flashpoint so much, you realy realy had to be cautious because any stupid and unplanned action could cost your life and ruin up to two hours of playing. I dont want to say that I love to be treated unfair but I need this pressure in order to get into the right mood of fear, stress and fear of losing my life! Any other game is not so tough to crack for me, I think I am creative so I experiment over and over again, no matter how often I die I will find a silly solution that works around the capabilities of the AI. In Flashpoint I dont have the time nor the save-points to test out the stupidity of the AI whenever I want to. I have to guess their reaction, and that is, in my eyes, tactical thinking! In other games it is just creativity, map routine and a little bit of patience. What would be the purpose of a military simulation if it would make your enemy weaker than he actually is? Just so kids and beginners dont feel so frustrated? To make OFP more family friendly? If you are beginner then you have to learn that lesson and simply die several hundred times during the first missions! This is a good lesson for the kiddies to continue playing their stuff and for the lovers of simulation to try harder and one day be realy proud to succeeed! Lunch time!

Moral of the story is don't use IE or Outlook you know, this reminds me of something.. I read about the largest Windows error message ever reported reported. when this brightened up Time Square then I bet this made about a thousand people smile (what an office deja vue)!

you are wrong about that one. I got malware on my PC too after I downloaded some freeware DVD Players! Oh, and have a look at my sig!

Oh, can I please ask a question too? When I bought my new PC I wanted to save some money and kept the old Harddisk. I had to buy a new version of windows since before I used in my DELL PC with an OEM Version. I installed the new windows on that harddrive and let it delete the old one. Everything went fine and it runs smooth. But unfortunately every time I start up my computer I am asked whether I want to start with "Windows XP" or "Windows XP" instead ! Since I know that the newer version installed is always the top one in the list I always click on that one and Windows starts. BUT, I dont want to chose the right version of windows each time I start up. And why am I asked anyway, wasnt the old version properly deleted? Or is there some garbage still somewhere on a strange partition I cant access from windows? And is there a sys. file in which I can get rid of the entry?

I dont know why I always sound like that . I read it again and I must (unfortunately) agree with you. Sounds a bit frustrated though.. but people who played OFP with me and heard my voice over teamspeak can (hopefully) agree, that I am a rather sunny person. @Monkey Lib Front -I did not say weapon caches are unrealistic. But the context in which they function in this games rather sounds irrational -Military advisors are always a great help, but they cant change the engine! You move forward in a squad, after playing three hours you know the map and all potential strategies. You see something moving, you know it must be the enemy, you shoot, he is dead. All you have to make sure is to cover all sides and know the map. But that is already important in CSS, only that you can take more hit-points. So no great achievement. The streets are empty, the enemy is always nearby.. you know his weapon capabilities (since they are always the same). I am not a hardcore OFPler. In even enjoy playing CSS regularly (and I play a lot) as well as any other shooters. And I was already several times attacked for having admitted that. And I claim having played the majority of the most popular ones. I even admit playing childish games like WOW once in a while. But from my experience there is no such thing as realism in such a shooter because the necessary Factors can not be guaranteed because they contradict game fun and balancing. But a realistic game works without game fun and balancing. But I promise you I will try it out, and post my comment here once again, and I have no problem admiting mistakes. But I am already sure about one thing, map-routine destroys realism! And no game unlike OFP was ever capable to surprise you with different environments over and over again!
-
sorry but to me this looks like a shooter! okay, realistic ballistics large maps (suuure) But in the end this will turn out to be a game in which BOTH sides play like suicide maniacs (respawn) and firefights will be short range only. Nothing to do with realism (in my eyes)... the entire effect of suprise is gone, you can always guess where the enemy will confront you (like in any shooter). And again the entire city is empty. In OFP you can go on a patrol and never be sure when the enemy might cross your way (or do it at all). And the thing that makes OFP so realistic: It can be unfair! It might be that the convoy is hit by enemy fire and noone survives! But in this game "balance" is crucial for game fun! Yesterday I have seen a footage of a tank crew hiding inside their Abrams because they are attacked by sniper fire and cannot locate him . They guess his position in a tower several hundred meter away. But they are not sure, cause the fire could come from any house in the village nearby. That is the tension I demand from a "realistic" game and only OFP is capable to do it? Looking at these screens I think I would always be able to know from where the sniper shoots at me. I know the ladders, I know the windows.. etc. So if this game is so realistic, then where is a realistic attack on a convoy scenario (and not the silly scene I seen on the screenshot)? And what is the bullshit about weapon caches? If I am an insurgent and I am going to risk my life I will make sure I bring enough ammo! Realistic amount of grenades? well does that realy make a difference? Respawn = Backup? are you serious? can you still create a realistic situation in your mind? I cant! Do you mind dying if you can respawn within seconds? if you die in OFP (coop) you are might be out for 1 hour or more, so you are indeed a bit more carefull! So your feedback on this game is pretty astonishing to me. This is the same stuff like CSS or americas Army (look at the damn Screenshots will ya! ). Everyone is always on alert, short range fire fights, unrealistic athmospherics and situations due to engine limitations. CSS is fun to play and at least it doesnt claim to be something it is not, realistic. So the most self contradicting people here are those that make fun of CSS and praise this mod instead. Same shit, different cover!

I dont want to play devils advocat once again, and dont get me wrong asking the following (it bothers me since a long time). Why did Saddams Regime succeed to keep the country under control with brutality and the same behaviour by western forces has the opposite effect (as the latest event will show)? Was it maybe because the Baathists simply had a better secret service network so every single Iraqi had to fear being caught and tortured for talking or behaving rebelliously?

I remember that when I was young Amiga was for the cool people and ATARI for those we did not like. But I dont recal anyone who actually had purchased any original software!

I never made this connection between denmark and Nazi Germany! Dont read between the lines where there is nothing written. (I guess I should writer shorter sentences) I was speaking about impact an image with obviously racist content can have on us. The psychology factor, if you want it! A racist image with a Jew on it makes us get embarassed, so does the insultive image of a "Nigger" . We consider this to be historically insensitive! Now we have a racist and insultive image of the most important symbols of Islam? This time we dont get embarassed, why is that? Simply because nothing has gone wrong yet, because we havent physically hurt them yet? As you say, we are probably all somewhat educated, but some of us definetly lack manners and the sensitivity to talk to each other properly. Forget about the riots in the middle East, dont you think many moderate muslims in europe are feeling hurt by these cartoons too? Do you think there couldnt have been a better way of sending the desired message than insulting their Prophet?

Cry me a river. I know your favourite hobby is Googling but then againyou try to proof me wrong by quoting a rubbish site just from the other side of evil? Do you honestly believe I wouldnt be able find something simillar in hebrew about the arab world? Nah, too old for silly generalisations! I have the feeling you too judge by emotions rather than by raison! I am simply saying that this cartoon is bad taste, no matter what the reactions in the islamic world would have been. So would it be the right approach to take this cartoon as the symbol on our battle-flag to fight for freedom of press? Maybe you are not the person to talk to objectively about this issue but yes, the Cartoon IS racist! And I dont want to defend freedom of press with a racist symbol! It must be the Irony of history that a german has to explain that to an israeli! (my revenge for your sarcastic reply)

I don't see your nation's embassy getting burned our murder attempts nor legal consequences if you did that. Can you please stick to my train of thought! I am not talking about the extremists currently burning embassies, they probably would have done it anyway, just for a different pseudo reason. I am talking about your muslim neighbour who sees his prophet in his newspaper being portrayed as a murderer and asks himself what he should think of it! And you are dequalifying yourself when you say that a burning embassy influences your opnion on the issue. It should not, since it has nothing to do with it! So can you please learn to diversify. Not every muslim who saw the cartoon took part in the attack against the embassy! (anyhow, I dont realy get your point, the sentence you posted is quite confusing )
