hehe, just wanted to add the same argument. Lets just remember what Ferari looked like before he joined. And please also look at his career, he didnt immediately start with the best car around. I see many sore loosers here and thats sad!

It wont, since the roots of it are older than the aeroplane! Is that the worst you can come up with? Aeroplane? Hell it's older than agriculture. Talking about the sex industry. A friend of mine was in Thailand right after the tsunami to take pictures for some newspapers and the sex industry was back to normal before the streets had dried. You got me wrong, I wasnt refering to prostitution but to sex tourism in Thailand. I lived in Thailand for a year and when visiting the Malaysian border (to get my visa/job permit expanded) I quickly realised that not the western tourism alone could be the root of it. I ended up in a city where there was not a single western looking person but still more prostitutes than ordinary citizens. Days later when having returned to office I asked business friends. They told me that Malays for example, being muslim, often cross the border to thailand to be able to visit a brothel. Even the thais themselves seem to have no problem at all to visit such places! It appears they have a different cultural approach to it. And dont think anything wrong of me. I had an authentic and hard-working thai girlfriend with an ordinary office job throughout that time and she wouldnt even let me pay for dinner.

Question: My girlfriends parents live near the Czech border. So if I would by a Czech version, would there be any disadvantage for me as a Ger/Eng speaking person? -
I hate it when pseudo-intellectual sites take the arrogance to judge computer games they dont know. Havent they seen what happened with OFP? Have they never tried any of the addons that make OFP what it is all about? I mean, who of you would still play version 1.1 with the shitty electronic flashes without xenon gas? And then the bad buggy visual sensors..Listen to me, OFP IS JUST NOT OFP without the mirror reflex finder mods.. Stupid morons!

To Ban the best driver? Looking back it would have definetly been a mistake. I dont think many would have liked to continue watching Formula 1 knowing one of the best (back then he was just that) was missing. You can whine about one or the other of his actions. But there are also many examples of his brilliance. And in the end a driver has to be agressive to become the best in the world. And seeing so many creepy and unsportive comments now from former comeptitors proofs to me, that many accusations were probably just envy. He was better than them and proofed it just too often to be called a "cheater".

The only point of dispute is Bn880's point B) In the end this is not a memorial site here but a discussion board and I dont see anything impious about discussing his approach to enterntainment vs education. After all he was a person of public interest.

I must agree with dmakatra there!! One could believe that there is a creepy message between the lines! There should be no political message in a thread about "In Memoriam"! Anyhow There were some very interesting documentaries on TV during the last days. It seems that even within the last months they were still able to find lots of bits and pieces of footage here and there. Some of the scenes that touched me personally were the recordings of a french journalist who followed a firefighter squad into the first tower. Together with them was a priest, all dressed up in a fire fighter's uniform except for the white collar. He remained silent and did say much but judging from his facial expression only he himself seemed to have understood what human tragedy was about to happen. I dont want to sound cheesy but I swear this priest wasnt just thinking about the day 11th of september... his eyes made the impression as if he was also afraid what would come after. He looked realy sacred, but not about his own life!. It seems to be an irony of our life that those who suddenly seem to realise something very very important are the ones that tend to die first. And so it was, when the other tower collapsed and stones came raining down on the squad he was the only one to die. Therefore the victim with the registry number 0001 was this poor priest. I am happy that german TV showed these scenes without stupid comments or interruptions. No matter how rotten our history had been untill then, 911 was a sad day.

A) yes, I have watched enough to judge and enough to seriously anoy me! B) I never said he "wrestled" with the animal that killed him. I said he often did with others (do you denie that), or approached them in a manner that would be the most "sensational". There are enough scenes that anyone with a certain sense of discipline would consider ridiculous (e.g. the one with his baby)! His way of wildlife-funding was never part of my argumentation. lol. funny man! I have a right of opinion, whether it pleases you or not. And the purpose of a forum is just about that!

modern successfull education? What do his films have to do with education? Are you talking about Croko-wrestling techniques? He made a sort of MTV Nature-Jackass and the target groups was kids with an attention deficiency syndrome. Action, Action, Action, that was what it was all about. Exaggerated tone, exaggerated movements, little info but lots "dangerous" moments. Las Vegas Style! I dont know what you think of teens of today, but the ones I know dont need and dont want this popcorn entertainment for education. They want ethology, they want breathtaking pictures of nature at its purest (without an australian Teletubby on Ecstasy in it). They want to see how animals behave when they are alone by themselves (actually that was what nature films initially were all about). There are so many pure and emotional moments that wildlife has to offer, I doubt I need any more fake pepper being added to it. I guess thats the reason why I believe this man was never realy popular in Germany. So is "grandson" Cousteau now going to continue with Stingray Wrestling? I hope not cause he didnt seem to have learned enough from his father. Stingrays dont do "freak" attacks! They give clear signals. Isnt it suprising that stingrays are rarely involved in accidents but still it happened to Steve Irwin, who tends to provoke such situations? (sorry for sounding cynical, but thats unfortunately the way I write and argue... but I guess most of you know that by now and dont take it personally not consider me to be arrogant or so)

This would have been a worthy world cup final. Not this "sisters" game we had to watch and that ruined the memory of our Germany 2006!
-
Yes Fubar. I fully agree with your point. In my eyes there are miles between zoologist and documentary filmmakers such as our german Heinz Sielmann and the australian Steve Irwin. I didnt agree with his idea to make nature documentaries interesting for main stream viewers neither with the way he chose to achieve it. He was killed by an animal with a dangerous weapon but with a peaceful mind and clear body language. This tells a lot. In the end he faced an animal that behaved the way he wanted to portray it like. But it seems I am less sensitive to criticise a dead celebrity. He never properly respected what I respect, so why should I respect him? Because of his mainstream fame?

Well, what do you expect. ArmA is near, christmas too, so prices are raising like always. On the other hand, the value added tax in germany will be increased by 2%, so buying the my new PC now was a pretty good decision. I thought it was to be risen about 3% ? But yeah, you´re actually right. Got some good reasons to upgrade there, if i just wouldn´t be such a scotsman when it comes to money.. x-mas sounds good though, hoping the prizes will drop instead of going through the roof. snogard here i come, again lol, it rises by 2% points but it increases by 3%!

A naive question: How is Japan dealing with its own past? Are they teaching and analysing it critically?

If you would change the 2nd amendment you would a) loose 90% of your voters or B) provoke a civil war. In the US thats not just a law, it is business, ideology and culture. So the only way to change things is to take the silent path by adding modifications!

Since we are at it. I have the reputation of being the suicide bomber. I always take the path noone else takes and I just cant settle ... I always gotta run. Even though I basically always die in each match my scores are usually pretty good. Back to you, Tracy!

A lebanese friend of mine, who I went to university with in Lausanne works in Beirut for a hospitality company. I emailed him since I heard he replied to a friend a few days ago. If he replies to me and tells me how life is going I will post the mail here.

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), won an Oscar back then. It is not an exclusive Film that I am proud to know about. All of you should at least have read the book or watched the film. Its realy a piece of common knowledge by now! Spielberg stole a lot from this one

He never directly says anything like that: http://www.ctv.ca/servlet....0060718 Where does he say that? And Nemesis 6, hezbollah was created because Israel invaded Lebanon in 82, so they couldn't have been there. BTW, has Israel used white phoshorous bombs? Note: Some links from these sites might lead to images of dead poeple so be cautios. (I haven't seen any but in the comments sections there might be some.) http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/25/1442242 http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/25/1442232 http://www.gnn.tv/headlin....phorous He was on a political mission and tried to make a point. Unfortunately he totally exaggerated the letter he had read. this is the radio interview, in sound http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog....ah&only Furthermore there Hizzbollah is usually staying away from the posts due to very clear reason. UNIFIL communicates all movements in this border district to the israelis. Yes, that is totally legitimate and a SOP!

AMD prices just dropped by 50% so this is the time to upgrade. It does make sense to buy one last AMD processor before switching to Intel.
