They weren't giving the British anything, merely "lending" it)<span id='postcolor'> Yeah if Japan didn't attack USA Hitler might have or most likey would have won. If Japan atttacked USSR instead the Axis would have won it. USA was like Stalin in 1939, wanted to avoid war. It didn't work out for either of them. Yeah your right about them "lending it" thats why it was called "Lend Lease" also sent to USSR.<span id='postcolor'> I just want to correct something here because I think it is important to know! Hitler declared war on America and not the other way around! Besides that, I am realy impressed by the power to survive the British had during WWII. I dont talk about glorious soldiers here and stuff, but it was shaking for the Germans to see how little bombs and rockets could do against England. Everyone always said England is like a cat, it just needs one more hit, then it will be dead. But after bombs and bombs nothing happened, curchill did not give up, in other words: this cat realy realy takes more hits to die than we can ever do"! Germany flew so regularly their bomb-attacks that the people didnt have much time to leave the cellar, except when the weather was so bad that no attacks could be flown. Without this resistance the Americans could not have attacked Germany. When the Germans gave up to conquer England the Brits were able to offer their country as a carrier for american aircrafts.

Patton? Oh please, that is my weak spot there! I think he was a lucky man to be at the right spot at the right time! But dont give him the credit to be a great tactitian. I mean a man who holds his afternoon sleep while his soldiers are involved in a great battle where hundreds died must be off reality. Especially if you later on hit one of your soldiers in hospital because he is wounded and cannot fight! All this glory because he went on so fast to push back the Germans (a production-giant like the US against an outpowered, tired Germany lead by fanatics) Â was nothing else than his competition with Montgomery. And sure you lost a couble of good men because of his aim to be first!

    Dead loser #8,886

I agree with both of you to a certain extent. The story reminds me of a Psycho-teenager here in Germany. He wasnt the most liked child in school, most student made fun of him (i mean look at his ears). So after a few years he isolated himself more and more, adapted his fathers hobby: guns, and loved to play computergames, the more brutal the better! During the time the Holocaust was discussed in school he fell in love with the Neo-Nazi idea. Of course a child like this freaks one day. One morning he called his friend and asked him to come over. When he arrived he shot him, then he shot his cat and a few people on the road. The final shot was for himself! Judge yourself°

Which politican will suceed in breaking this devils circle? None, from both sides and none from the US and none from Europe. Those minds are too old and too preset! I am a bit dissapointed of all universities in the Middle East. While European, South American, Russian, Asian and American students regularly fight and demonstrate for peace and equality, student in the Arab countries shout stupid old religious and fundamentalist propaganda! And from the students in Israel you hear nothing! Basically nothing! Pretty disapointing for a young generation which in other countries suceeded in provoking whole revolutions and kicking out governments!

Yes indeed, it is a camera! All german soldiers have to have one in the near future on top of their guns! With the amount of UN activities abroad more and more of our soldiers face complicated situations, and they have to be sensitive not to overreact! In case someone gets shot the Den Haag trial watches the film of the gun-camera and checks whether the soldier has reacted correctly! Â Â Just kidding!!! Actually it is a megaphone which animates animal sounds. In case you make noise because you stepped on wood and the enemy heard the "crack!!!" coming from the forrest, then you can turn on you megaphone and it will make the sound of an elk, a Yeti, a rhino, a drunk mexican, a raped rabbit or a horny frog!!

There are far more great war heroes than that! Caesar! Atilla of the Huns! King Karl the great! king Lionheart! Spartacus! Hanibal (no, not that guy from the A-Team! the one who used the elephants as weapons, Carthago) Napoleon! ... those were real war-heroes

Hey ran, I am realy serious with this one: buy the auto-biography (or biography) of Charlie Chaplin. It is realy realy a grea life-story to know about! (if you know a bit about bestsellers literature: it is like the book of Frank McCourt about his Irish childhood)

BAWAAAAAHAAAAHAHHAH    That reminds me of that stupid fuck Rudolf Heß, actually the third most important and powerful person in the REICH during WWII. Untill the day he thought he could turn the war against England himself. On the 10th of Mai 1940 he took a plane and totaly alone flew over to Scottland. Once he saw the palace he was looking for he jumped out with his parachute, landed on a field, went into the palace and actually demanded to see Churchill. Of course he wanted to tell churchill how important it is for the Brits to sign the peacetreaty!! Before they all get killed by german bombers!!! Churchill said: "what the fuck" and just ordered they should imprison this weird guy, he didnt want to see him, well definetly not when this Nazi dares to appear during Tea-Time. Hitler was so furious about his brain sick 'ministre' that he sent all Rudolf Heß's subordinates into concentration camp and ordered to shoot Heß already at the border once he would be sent back to Germany.  Below you see mad-brain Rudolf Heß on the right, and on the left that is Charlie Chaplin (or am I wrong?)

Building on airport on war graves

Just to give you some figures WWII 55 Mio soldiers died, 27 mio were KIA, the rest died of hunger, cold and so on 19 Mio civillians died because of execution (on every side), hunger, rape, cold... 6 Mio Jews were killed during the Holocaust 3 Mio people were missed IN TERMS OF NATIONS 20 Mio Russia 10 Mio China 4.8 Mio Germans during the war, 2.8 more after 5.8 Mio Poland 2 Mio Japan (200'ooo Hiroshima, 74'000 Nagasaki) 1.7 Mio Jugoslawia 600'ooo France 400'ooo England 300'ooo US Now you see that only WWII itself has left many dead people on Europes soil. Now if you want to be so sarcastic to calculate the surface of a dead corpus (approx 1m squared) then see what you get! I am absolutely convinced that those australian soldiers need to be honoured, but there are moments in life where you have to consider ...

Many honourable people have died in the last centuries wars in europe. If you decided not to build houses where earth once was filled with blood or you find war-graves, then there wouldnt be much space between Germany and France you could build on! Believe me that! As rude as it sounds, but there are heroes that got far less attention than your Australian soldiers.

That's simple enough to answer. See here: Some maps. The land that is yours legally is shown under the headline '1947 United Nations Partition Plan' or even under headline '1948-1949 War'. West Bank, Gaza and Golan Heights are occupied by you, taken in a war which you began with an offensive (they were threatening you I know, but it was you who escalated to full hostilities with your pre-emptive attack). Placing settlers in occupied areas means that you intend to get the land for yourselves permanently. Now I know that everybody thinks that Six Day War was fought to secure the existence of Israel. But could an additional motive have been the confiscation of some more land for Israel? More lebensraum? If this was the case, I'm sure Israel would never admit it. Once again, I refer to the occupation of Germany after WWII. What would have happened if the occupying powers started putting settlements on german soil? French settlers in Berlin bulldozing german buildings and buildings theirs instead? Ze germans would have been seriously pissed.<span id='postcolor'> You will laugh but the French did exactly that with through the occupation of the Rheinland after WWI (nothing against the french, they are my favourite neighbours, besides of course the swiss). What they did was to claim all the produced resources (such as cole and iron) and month by month imported nearly everytime 100% back to France. This tense occupation is considered as one of the reason why this Hitler could rise in power. The effect is similar to that of the Isreal and palestine. The Germans (poor fucks in this period of time) tried to rebell but couldnt cause they had no money to finance it. So they just lowered production so the french wouldnt get much of their resources...la la la after a few years Hitler cam and He and His propaganda played with the people living in this surpression, and he promised them independance... (easy as that to get people to support you)

Scout, you are realy going too far! This is not an ordinary journalist for a scum-paper, this is a employee of Reuters. No, it is quite unlikely that this guy is lying and it is quite unlikely that he was only touched by smoke-grenades. And the paper where this was published was 'Der Spiegel' which too is a considerable good magazine in Germany! I dont see you ever being self-critical. Of course there are incidents where the army is reacting with the necessary power (after decades of war, they know what they are doing) but there are also little events where there is simply no excuse. THOSE soldiers in the Jeep should be sent back and at least sit in a trial. At least they would have to justify themselves. (now if you read this and you tell yourself: what the hell, sending soldiers back into trial for such a tiny stupid ecounter with a journalist, then you should sense how far you distanced yourself from the ordinary democratic world"!

Building on airport on war graves

I see a bit exagerated affection here! Certainly there may be graves there! And definetly there maybe soldiers there that deserves to get honoured. But after 10 years there is nothing left of a body. In Germany many graves are re-rented after 20 years. This is not for the purpose of making money (germany is still a country with honourable values). But because grave-yards here are located near the city or even within, they are very neat and clean and most have their own churches. We simply dont have the space to expand and there is also no logical moral reason for it. Such a long time has passed since those Australian soldiers have been burried there! I seriously wonder if you ever went to France, and if so, did you visit this graveyard? Cause if not then I may assume that not many Australians did! Are you anoyed because you feel dishonoured as an Australian or because you realy care about those soldiers? I think you can find a very good solution. The french could built a little beautiful chapel in one of the big cities nearby. A place where actually a few more Australians would go to and remember those soldiers! This is definetly a good solution for a tiny forgotten graveyard, that probably most Australians have forgotten about!

We see a lot of images here even though they are restricted to film, and believe me, the media dont show it only from one point of view. But you must understand that being a journalist and being attacked like this may influence your sense journalistic-independance, you may be angry at those soldiers and therefore  reflect this through the articles and films they publish. THis journalist is from the Reuters agency (dont need to say more) he was filming the Arafats 'palace' when two jeeps approached him, chased him, and threw shock grenades at him. He has serious problems with his ears since then. Of course you may assume him to be a terorist since he has got dark hair and looks like a palestinian. But if the soldiers thought he would be a terorist, why didnt they shoot or capture him but let him run away? That doesnt make no sense. They knew he was a proper journalist (no terorist can afford a camera like this, this is worth about 20 AK's). I dont even know if Arafats palace is within the 'forbidden zone' of the press! This is a very rude and arogant behaviour and does not realy help to improve your global reputation. And of course it awakes the impression: the Israeli dont realy care what the press sais about them. they do what they want!

In fact I know how hard the situation is for the Isreaeli, and especially the soldiers. I would be hyper cautious too. But then again there are incidents where I ask myself: Is that realy necessary? " And I see pictures where I would say: "no, this definetly is not necessary and has nothing to do with war against terrorism!"

However they only can do so because they act fully independant from any party or government: It is highly arrogant to accuse such a glorious organisation without any proof just with a simple assumption.
