"Med-Evac wurde abgeschossen" (Med-Evac was shot down) ... I am sure he missed to say that it was shot down by a tree. Great footage Tonic :D

Welcome to the world of ArmA Movie Makers :D We got tons of images stuck in our head but we suck in scripting. Get yourself a good pal in the forums to PM in case of questions. I am sure you know very well what to do but this is how I solved my problems. But in the end it boils down to trying trying trying for hooouuuurs untill you got a scene of 15 seconds that you are somewhat satisfied with :o BTW: it would always be great to know how many hours someone invested in creating a vid. I know that I worked on my last project definetly more than 100h and that over a period at least 6 months. So to all the people out there, you better appreciate the stuff BL1P, Funkman and others contribute, they are hard earned. Relationsships were destroyed, children were born without the father present, companies ruined and necessary repair works at home delayed. Considering the awesome projects we have seen here so far I guess I am rather one of the light cases :D

Blip, I already left a comment in your first video on youtube. I think the concept has an incredible amount of potential. I hope you dont get bored of it and drop it. You could build every kind of scene into it: Stuntcars jumping over the singer, two prop planes doing a cross loop, rain, storm, snow, changing seasons. Oh damn, there are so many great addons out there that there is basically no limit to your imagination. :bounce3:

dcal, it worked for me. I can clearly watch it in 3D after a minute of training. Howevever do you see it very sharp? Also, the picture is very small for me. Is this normal?

The all new: Ask a moderator about the forum & rules

Wolle thanks for getting back to me. Can you tell me what information might be usefull for you to understand my problem? (screenshot?) I am speaking about the Social Group in my signature (ArmA cineasts). I wasnt aware that this detail could be helpful to tackle the issue.

Is there any way to expect an answer from a Mod before ArmA3 comes out? (to my question two posts above)

terrific video. I like it when the viewer is given some slow time in the beginning to dive into the athmosphere. The sounds have been calibrated pretty well to harmonise with the rest. Top notch.

    Arma2 free fps?

Crysis is a joke compared to ArmA2 in terms of hardware hunger (and I am not saying this out of some sort of silly pride). Maybe others will correct me here but I assume this is mainly due to the viewdistance. ArmA2 is hungry for your CPU while Crysis mainly focuses on your graphic card. My first guess is that you should reduce the viewdistance to 1800 metres. This might already do the job. But in order to judge this in detail it would be great if you could post a screenshot of your ingame graphic settings. Dont be mistaken, ArmA2 is a stress test for basically any Rig out there.
  13. You should take it more in a relaxed way. Times are changing. Gaming has become more of a mainstream thing. The good old days of CS,SOF2, GlobalOps, Global Operations are over. But that doesnt have to be a negative thing. Instead of being totally concentrated, cleaning your mouse before every match and checking your ping you can now have simple laissez fair fun. Maybe it is because I am getting older but I enjoy that the focus is now more on infantile entertainment than pure skills. I know that I can look back at 2 decades of training, but I also know that nowadays I just want to have fun. My free time is too precious and my concentration too much allocated to my job, I just want to have a good time. Thats all.

The all new: Ask a moderator about the forum & rules

I run a social group here in the forums. Participation and membership require no approval. So why do I have a notification: "unapproved group message" When I open that I get straight to the introduction of our group and there is no approve / dissaprove button. Whats that for? What do I have to do to get rid of it?

Arma II & OA User Video Thread

Maybe I am bit egocentric again, but I believe that the OFP/ArmA community has a creative potential that is hard to compete with. This game attracts people who wish to enjoy a game that allows to express oneself (in whatever facette). I want to build on this and foster cooperation. Therefore I would kindly ask anyone who is into ArmA movie editing or just likes to watch to join our social group (see link in signature). There is absolutely zero participation required. By joining you already show that you appreciate that others to do the work and represent the silent audience who is looking forward to the next release. The reason why I think such a group would be useful is because we have questions and requirements that are very much different from the average mission scripter. Many of the threads I would have liked to open in the past (e.g. about Sony Vegas, Fraps or Codecs) would probably have been closed because they were too offtopic. In our Social Group however we are free to ask whatever we wish. We could therefore slowly build a database with the most important information on how to create movies, from basic to advanced. It should cater to those members, who are interested in making movies, but maybe feel intimidated of what they already find here. We can provide an information hub which they can use to overcome the first problems we encountered when we started and raise them right up to our level (exclduing myself cause I think I can hardly compete with others here). Kind regards, Albert.

    Behind enemy lines video.

If you realy mean it seriously then you could actually write a list of scenes you want to have in your movie. You could put it here and people can pick one or the other if they like and record it for you (including post-editing with sounds etc).

    Behind enemy lines video.

The idea is good an nothing new. Actually some wanted to see a whole campaign around the story of this specific movie. I would certainly love to watch it. Anyhow, please dont underestimate the work that video projects need. You will be amazed to see that you invest an entire evening just to get one short scene of 10 seconds finished. Also, please join the social group that you see in my signature. We are trying to build up an info databse with all sorts of tips and tricks for movie makers.

Thats absolutely fine with me and very kind of you. I will prepare a royalty free version though for youtube as well. It challenges me, but it it will not be up to the original.
