    British teacher imprisoned for naming

Will the teddy be used as a piece of evidence in court? In case it does I should put one on ebay, claiming it to be THE ONE. I may assume it would achieve a price of at least a couple of thousand dollars.

    Call of Duty Modern Warfare...

If you had played the game, you would have known that the criminals aren't all foreigners. I take it that you haven't played the game. Anyway, back on-topic, my computer would implode if I tried to install CoD 4 and I'm too cheap to buy CoD 4 for the XBOX 360. Damn local video store has a billion copies of that very average FPS game in which you can control "time" but only a handful of COD 4 copies. I never can get my hands on a CoD 4 copy. Â Oh, I got it right here on my table. But my graphic card showed some strange reactions when I tried to play it.

    THE WAR, starting today

Probably the most expensive documentary on WWII starts today (broadcasted on PBS). Length is approximately 16 hours. From what I understood they tried to only take first hand experiences into consideration, not ("so called" experts) and left politics fully out of it. A great concept in my eyes. It is worth a try so please tune in and give us feedback Short Preview Video on Youtube: PS: Mods, sorry for writing the header in capital letters. I totally forgot about this rule. Please be so kind and change that for me.

    THE WAR, starting today

Please gentlemen. Will you please watch it before judging. There is a powerful term in German that pretty much sums it up "Zeitzeugen". This word describes what it is realy about: witnesses of the war and their personal stories. As far as I understood it this documentary is about anekdotes of private experiences and emotions. In my eyes trying to cover the entire political sphere behind it may lead to a distraction of the actual focus, the stories of individuals. There are lots of examples here in Germany of documentaries that chose a simmilar concept and they succeeded in creating a perfect "being there" athmosphere.

Wind Turbines For or against & why?

dont have time to read the thread. During my last job I worked for a company that also analysed wind energy funds (closed ended funds) as investments. Good for tax purposes, but shitty in terms of revenue. Forget it.

    THE WAR, starting today

No Monroe, I think the frustration rather stems from the fact, that we DO make awesome documentaries, but they arent shown in the US. Unless a WII film has got Oscar potential it wont be shown across the US. And if so, only a very intellctual elite will bother watching it. It would be nice to see the US making documentaries on the german, british russian side of the coin for an american audience to show the whole "scale" of the war. But unfortunately the general viewer isnt interested so if a movie is about russia, it usually turns out to be a shitty action movie such as "Enemy at the gates", otherwise noone would watch it. I realy wonder how many people watched "letters from Iwo Jema" vs "Flags of our fathers". And noone can denie that the first was actually better. So yes, there is a certain portion of frustration speaking. And I realy hope that the upcoming film of Tom Cruise on Stauffenberg can change something about this general dislike for the "other side". Lets wait and see. Sorry for potential grammatical errors, I am slightly drunk!

    THE WAR, starting today

He means the politics of the time. He is not saying that it is unbiased. How can you properly examine a war without looking at the politics behind it? The day a soldier entered the battlefield, politics were no longer part of his experience. He was given orders by his direct superior and that was it. You risk to destroy the "being there" experience of the viewer if you zoom out of the battle microcosm to often just to give background info. So I have problems to understand those of you insisting that a documentary can not just cover one side of the coin, that of an ordinary soldier.

    THE WAR, starting today

I dont think that this is actually a drawback. A clear precise mission of a film often turns out to be more powerfull than the desperate attempt to cover everything. As a german I dont find it narrow minded to cover only the american side of the fence, if it is covered well. Although for the sake of public education this might be quite risky. As all of you I have watched quite an amount of documentaries and whenever the director tried to embrace the entire scale of the war he usually failed. It turned out to be stereotypical and soldiers on each side appeared like cheap caricatures. Yes, the try not to cover the strategic and tactical perspective of this war, neither the story of the leading political and military protagonists of that time.

I just bought an unused newest version of Sony Vegas 7.0 for 200 Euros on Ebay.. was that a good deal or a terrible desaster?

    Check this out...

definetly is! But that is not the graphic card but the motherboard! Happens to me all the time once my motherboard exceeds 49°C. However I have had simillar problems with Stalker and Lord of the Rings where it has nothing to do with the temperature.. Alt+tab and back usually helps

I think it also had to do with the way textures are being intelligently reused over and over again.

    ArmA animations

Hello, I am a pretty busy man   but nevertheless I am trying to create some simple character animations for ArmA to record a small movie. Can you give me a hint or a tutorial from where I can start. Ofp-anim is outdated I may assume.. correct me if I am wrong. My KnowHow so far is 0% but I what I do know is that it appears to be a lot lot lot of work! @Mods: Yes, I used the search function and looked up the term "animations" but i couldnt find anything usefull.

climatic changes, what do you think about that?

The first goal of the spin doctor's agenda was, to turn the issue of Global Warming back into just a "theorie" instead of a "fact". And they succeded.

    Armed Assault videos

Hi all Now that realy is a good ArmA video. Good camera work; excelent scenes, liked the two bits were guys got crushed by the walls as the tank suprised them; a real narative, this one has a story with realistic pace, tension at the end and even a good release. I like my film noir but this one was an excelent potted Holywood action movie. Well done to sin329 whoever they are. Kind Regards walker this video contains a lot to learn from. I wonder if all was somewhat scripted or if he used some players to help him out. Some of the best scenes defiently come by luck and by trying, trying, trying and trying again. This guy is either a total genius or he put incredibly many hours into that. Salut!

    Choppers paradise

What am I doing wrong that I constantly get this error message?
  21. I need a car to go straight and fully ignore the ordinary path-finding function. I want to know that for two reasons A) to learn the logic of it and B) to make a movie shot of a car driving over a ramp. Unfortunately it wont do it if I leave AI enabled. So you dont have to do the effort to write a time-consuming script for me taking all options into consideration, I just need simple-stupid solution that only works for one shot. It doesnt matter if the car keeps driving towards panama afterwards! P.S. I used the search function before posting this including the terms crash, disableAI, car ..... so please apologise if the right search-term didnt come into my mind.

Not all bugs in ArmA are unrealistic....

Maybe the chopper was lifted and carried by transport helicopter? Would that be possible? In that case the back rotor spinning would make sense for the sake of balance.

make a car to drive straight

Drive the vehicle yourself and film the action using an external camera. Heres a basic example mission. CameraPos.zip Activate the radio trigger, then use the direction keys to drive the car. Yes, I guess thats the best way to do it. Thanks. Sometimes KISS (keep it simple & stupid) is the only feasible solution I guess.
