I´ve been on holiday there 2 years ago. The Santiburi Dusit Resort or the Le Royal Meridien ? I´ve stayed at the Pavilion Resort It is cheaper than the upper ones, but luxury also. If you are at Chaweng beach I wish you all the best  Party day and night and more transsexuals as you can count. Make sure to get the scuba gear with you. Diving is big fun there. You also might want to visit a tailor. They do excellent clothes for very little money. If you need a good adress let me know.<span id='postcolor'> I have worked for Dusit previously on Phuket, but they are having serious problems now! In the upcoming year I will be working for an Amari Resort which is (dont get me wrong here) more in the hands of swiss, dutch and german managers. The Le Meridien is always a great hotel (100% run by french) but a hotel that is too standardised to reflect the local culture. The hotel I will be working for is called Palm Reef Resort and it will upgrade from 104 to 188 rooms. It has about the same target market as Le Meridien and the Dusit. The Dusit loves to show its high rates on the internet but in reality their rooms are cheap! Never trust a rate published by the hotel itself, the rates are made by the Tour Operator! But you did the smartest thing there is to do. Screw those 5star resorts. You can get anything you want in a 3star anyway. If you already know the region you go to then rent a bungallow and you spare even 50% more! Tailors? Yeah, they got millions of them, but if this is your working dress then you will see how quickly they are ruined after drycleaning once per week. My german suits survived far longer than the thai ones! I allready did my diving license and I will do lots more trips when I am there. But what I like most is getting a real speedy motorcross cycle, I did that before and explored the entire jungle, SO GREAT!  Phom dee djai tee dhai pop khun krap!

Yes, it is stealing my precious time, but only untill January 3rd. Then I will be working in a 5star Resort on Koh Samui as EAM of F&B. The problem is only that I am a young unexperienced Mr. Knowitwall. So if I dont want to get my ass kicked by superiors I will have to work a lot. And they told me that I will have to face mostly days with 12-14 hours of work. In an office that is okay, but not in south-east-asian humidity. Where and when do I play OFP then? OH MY GOD? Maybe I can get my PC shipped there. But if I want to get upgrades it might be pretty tough since the connection run probably with 0.001 kp per hour! So what is paradise without OFP? Probably hell!

What is the point of buying an NVIDIA FX/Radeon 9500 if the technology they have is not used by any games/programs. I mean, even the GeForce 3 has some technology that is only just now appearing on the software market. I don't see the need to upgrade until AGP 16x comes out - possibly wait until AGP 32x even <span id='postcolor'> This question could also be asked the other way around. Why the hell arent there any top-scale games on the market. OFP initially was quite ahead with its system requirements, but so far I dont know many games that ask for more than 800Mhz and a Geforce 2. -

That was written in a PC magazine. One good think of the Radeon 9500pro/9700pro Series might be, that they have nicer antialiashing support than gf4.<span id='postcolor'> Stalker is one of the games which can use directx 9.0 I also think that a few games in the future may require 8.1 OR HIGHER and if you got 9.0 you can enable some additional options. During the last presentation of the FX a few journalists noticed that the card was so heavy so the developers had to stabilise it with a cord. -
All of us got certain consumption obligations and one of them is christmas. I have bought only 2 of 6 presents so far and still got a long way to go. We should help each other to find good christmas presents for everyone and please post any proposals you. BUT PLEASE NO YOKES (heard me Avon? ) My proposal is: This year I wanted to buy my parents a DVD player but dont want to spend too much. But after I read about 12 magazines and tests from various national-quality-organisations I found out that the second best is actually one of the cheaper DVD players on the market. SO in case you wish to buy a DVD player then get the Panasonic DVD-RV 32 which costs around 214 Euro. It got top marks in all categories except in easy handling. ------------------------------------------------------------ In order not to bore all of you I thought about adding a little yoke: (We take you now to the Oval Office.) George: Condi! Nice to see you. What's happening? Condi: Sir, I have the report here about the new leader of China. George: Great. Lay it on me. Condi: Hu is the new leader of China. George: That's what I want to know. Condi: That's what I'm telling you. George: That's what I'm asking you. Who is the new leader of China? Condi: Yes. George: I mean the fellow's name. Condi: Hu. George: The guy in China. Condi: Hu. George: The new leader of China. Condi: Hu. George: The Chinaman! Condi: Hu is leading China. George: Now whaddya' asking me for? Condi: I'm telling you Hu is leading China. George: Well, I'm asking you. Who is leading China? Condi: That's the man's name. George: That's who's name? Condi: Yes. George: Will you or will you not tell me the name of the new leader of China? Condi: Yes, sir. George: Yassir? Yassir Arafat is in China? I thought he was in the Middle East. Condi: That's correct. George: Then who is in China? Condi: Yes, sir. George: Yassir is in China? Condi: No, sir. George: Then who is? Condi: Yes, sir. George: Yassir? Condi: No, sir. George: Look, Condi. I need to know the name of the new leader of China. Get me the Secretary General of the U.N. on the phone. Condi: Kofi? George: No, thanks. Condi: You want Kofi? George: No. Condi: You don't want Kofi. George: No. But now that you mention it, I could use a glass of milk. And then get me the U.N. Condi: Yes, sir. George: Not Yassir! The guy at the U.N. Condi: Kofi? George: Milk! Will you please make the call? Condi: And call who? George: Who is the guy at the U.N? Condi: Hu is the guy in China. George: Will you stay out of China?! Condi: Yes, sir. George: And stay out of the Middle East! Just get me the guy at the U.N. Condi: Kofi. George: All right! With cream and two sugars. Now get on the phone. (Condi picks up the phone.) Condi: Rice, here. George: Rice? Good idea. And a couple of egg rolls, too. Maybe we should send some to the guy in China. And the Middle East. Can you get Chinese food in the Middle East?

Assuming you are an Al Quaida terorist and you were recently promoted from Store-room clerk to Al Quaida headquarter for global attack planning. One day you meet Mr Osama (he lost an eye and a leg when a bomb hit his cave but besides that he looks okay, maybe a little pale) and he asks you to plan the next terorist attack. You got to propose one target and a plan within one day. Right after the meeting with Osama you call for all your jihad deputies for a brainstorm-conference. And the next day Mr. Osama calls you and asks: "well dear Mohammed el Shabrak, what is your plan?" Propose your perfect terorism target and how you would attack it. What kind of consequences could your attack have?

Now I’m not sure what to do, OFP is my favorite game (and has been for a long time) so it doesn’t feel good to buy a card that have issues with OFP. Why cant ATI make some good drivers… The 9700 is faster than a geforce 4600 but the price of the two is pretty much the same. I really don’t know what to do either. <span id='postcolor'> So we have the same task to fullfill! The Radeon 9700 is a lot faster than the 4600 at higher resolution and with AA! It would burst the topic to pack this all in here. Snipers moved along with regular troops and in standalone teams, they worked basically alone. This way they were able to shoot a great amount of people. Something like hit and run in villages, woods, assault locations...and finally ranged defence positions or flank traps. Snipers were the last to leave occupied territory and the first to go in, whenever possible. Ranged kills made them very effective against close combat weapons. I agree with you ran. I dont like them either, since tacs switched and civillians became a popular target like in Israel or Jugoslavia. They can be a real pain in the ***, but they are part of modern warfare and to have one along with you is not to bad at all.<span id='postcolor'> got a second degree burn on my right leg because of one of those during my first trip in bosnia the impact of a bullet on the apc's armor made me jump while i was in it and i reversed a thermos of burning café on my leg spent 2 weeks in the local military hospital<span id='postcolor'>    the frenchies ! His frozen head would burst like a light bulb. But the thing I dont understand is when all this was supposed to happen. Snipers had no chance to be successful during the period when the germans were moving forward. The Blitzkrieg was simply to vivid for a sniper to be sucessful. All I cand think of is the time of the winterwar especially during the battle of Stalingrad. I suppose the bullets were so rare at that time that everyone was forced to turn into a sort of sniper!

Nice list. But I may assume that there is a lot of propaganda involved in this list. I too doubt that Erwin König ever existed. And I also believe that snipers were to a great extent tools of propaganda. So I would propose to take those stats not too seriously!  (especially not the russian ones)

what? I am sorry but all benchmarks right now show the Radeon to be the fastest on the market . I wont abuse my time now and explain to you why the Radeon 9700 is the fastest but I am curious from where you got that silly information. Â The Radeon 9700 is the fastest consumer card on the market, already supporting many of the still unreleased Direct X 9's features. -

oh boy, there is too much wannabe justification for a war out there. Too many slogans such as "war against terorism" and "saddams weapons of mass-destruction" and "defend our country". Too many pragmatic people out there that think that a strong key can open all locks! There is this pressure for fast initiative, the willingness to pay back! The entire worldorder is moving backward and this pretty quickly without people noticing it. It is not about war or not war, it is about being able to think longterm and estimate consequences. If the US attacks Iraq then the consequences will be hard to forecast, cause chainreactions in general are hard to forecast!
-
I think this is nonesense. There is a certain desire to connect Saddam to Al Quaida. But fact is that dictators so far in history showed only little sympathy for religion. This was the case with hitler and so far Saddam as well. I seriously think there is a lot of propaganda out there just to justify an attack against Iraq as a piece of the war against terorism.
-
Yep, and what kind of environmental responsibility is this if you basically say: "we dont mind if your supertanker sinks, but please sink outside our borders. Maria Aznar and his delegation should pay a heavy price for this in the future elections!
-
there is an international law for free waters and not only the US breaks them. Recently a few countries of the EU decided to ban all super-tankers with only a single wall from its waters. This however is illegal and they soon gotta pay a tremendous fine for that. Once again spain showed its political incapability. Instead of helping the poor people at the cost they develop nonesense regulations.

BTW First person view. Do you want to know for what I hate the Playstation? It is those shooter games where you neither see first person nor 3rd person but through an in-room camera. So if you run through a short tunnel there will be a camera following you at the beginning and come near the other side a different camera will follow from a totally different angle. DAMN I hate those Cameras! I WANT 1st person! Even though I think Mafia did a good job in creating a good 3rd person view!
