</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Another thing, are you just trying to get the mission to load from the server.cfg file? Does the mission load when you manually select it? Do any of the other 3 CTI missions load? <span id='postcolor'> I have tried to load it from the server.cfg and also manually selecting it. Same issue both ways. I have not tried it in the RES/addons but from what I understand OFP looks in both folders and either way it shouldn't matter which addons directory it is placed in... I currently have it in the main ADDONS folder. I tried loading the EVERON PS mission and it doesn't load either. I haven't tried the other missions yet.. I will do this later today. All of these mission work fine on Windows platforms. Capt Moore

I went to the above link and tried some of the suggestions: respawn=3; in description.ext  = already there requiredVersion "1.90" from init.sqs  = didn't exist Copy your O_wp.pbo to the server's addon  = tried this I tried it uncompressed just in a folder  = tried this I also tried the PBOTOOL  = tried this I tried compressing it with ingame editor = didn't help So that we are all on the same page, the file that I am trying to get to load is:  MFCTI 1.0 Everon.Eden Capt Moore

This is the mission that I cannot get to run on Linux.. Â I would like to get it working. MFCTI1.0 Â << click here This is the capture the island senerio. I add the addons to the server. Â I then goto the server.cfg file and make the following: class Mission01 // any mission name here { template = MFCTI 1.0 Everon.Eden; // directory or file name of the mission (without extension pbo) - the mission must be located in directory MPMissions cadetMode = 1; // 0 = difficulty veteran, 1 difficulty cadet param1 = 3600; // sets parameter of the specific mission- see description.ext of the mission param2 = 1; // sets another mission specific paramter }; then I run the linux box from a ssh command line... and this is the error i get: Cannot open file 'addons/mfcti1.0.pbo': No such file or directory I then change the addon MFCTI1.0.PBO to mfcti1.0.pbo and the error goes away... but the mission still won't load, it just default to the next mission. I would say that half of my collected missions will not run on Linux for some reason. They just default to the next mission.. I cannot find an error code to figure out the reason. Capt Moore

I've recently found that my Linux box running the latest patches and before only ran half of the missions out there. After doing some research I found that it was caused by Linux being Case Sensitive. The issue is if a mission has scripts that are called or addon PBOs that are called and the case is different then the actual files. If the addon being called is spelled with all caps and the actual file is spelled with small letters then the mission will not load. Because of inconsistancies of mission makers spelling their code with both Caps and Smalls, causes about half the misisons out there to not load on Linux dedicated server machines. Capt Moore

I've run the server from a remote console and it was up for 24 hrs before it crashed, and yes I had the latest version. I can't say its super stable since I've seen some issue with it. Anyone else running it from a remote ssh console? Capt Moore

Yes this would be possible.. the trick is to figure out the best combination. I know that a connection to a NT server takes up about 2 megs of memory initially to process the connection. The terminal server requires a min of 10 megs just for a person to login and get a screen. So if this was offset to (other) servers and they all talked to a central server that was processing the actual game and not the hundreds of Net connections they it would help in the processing of huge amounts of people. In fact this is how a main frame works. The mainframe actually talks with a FEP (front end processor) the FEP is the actual computer thaty processes connections and such so theta the mainframe can consentrate of only the application processing and not the user connections. I wonder how RAT software did their online world. I know that they have many PC's processing there world but the exact configuration would be interesting to find out.

Now I just need to find a server that has a good cops and robbers map. Capt Moore

I think i found another bug But i removed it.. and some how it crept back into the cpp file... When you hit V on the spas 12 it shows a blank screen.. I meant to totally remove the optiks, but some how it was placed back in.. oh well... if it gets to be really bad I can always release a new..but for now.. they are very functional. Capt Moore

Hey guys... I thought I would put this up for fun... I have remade the FBI charater and now it works pefectly handgun, shadows.. graphics fixed.. all is well... also I made a LAPD charater.. for OFP and also a HALO charater... all of these have been converted from MDL and I am not the original model maker.. but what a pain to convert them.. almost easier to just make them from scratch. anywhere.. here is the link... this is a work in prorgess and has not been released.. but as far as I can tell all is working perfectly... the HALO man does not have a SCI fi weapon.. Capt Moore Pics are here

Yes I will update the model so that the doors can open and close in the rear. I was thinking of placing the ability to have 1 player be standing at the rear bay doors area like a cargo master type thing... on the other hand it can be done so that ALL the men in the back and standing up.. but I can't know of a proxy stance that would work well for that. We would need them to be holding onto something..

I have the addons... I have not worked on the blood which is the very last thing to be done.. Once i get time I will look into how to do the blood... but I don't know how at the moment.. Any volunteers? Or I can just release with no blood... they die all the same just no blood.

Operation Flashpoint: Resistance - Linux Standalone Server 1.91c ================================================================ Copyrigt © 2002 Bohemia Interactive Studio and Codemasters. All rights reserved.   Installation instructions:   ========================== 1. Following programs must have been installed on your Linux-box:  uudecode, gunzip, gcc. Optional: md5sum (for setup integrity check) 2. Copy the whole "OperationFlashpoint" directory from Windows  to some Linux-directory (OFP). DON'T DO ANY DATA CONVERSIONS  (even "dos2unix" translation of text files is not necessary).  Example: you can use PKZIP (WinZip, PowerArchiver, etc.) on  Windows and "unzip" on Linux.   Don't use upper case letters in the OFP directory name  (/home/bob/ofp will be good, /home/bob/OperationFlashpoint  may cause some troubles).   OFP directory should contain subdirectories "Addons", "Bin",  "Campaigns", etc. 3. Copy the "server-x.xx.shar.gz" (x.xx is version number) file into  the OFP directory. Unpack and install it with commands:  ofp$ gunzip server-x.xx.shar.gz  ofp$ sh server-x.xx.shar  Watch the messages - they will inform you whether your installation  is successful. 4. Dedicated server can be started in foreground:  ofp$ ./server  Or in background:  ofp$ nohup ./server > out.txt 2> err.txt &  [1] <pid> 5. Running server can be stopped by pressing CTRL+C (foreground)  or by executing:  $ kill -s SIGINT <pid>  Where <pid> is process-id of mother server thread (printed out in  "nohup" command).

Can some of you verify my findings: On the dedicated servers there is a file called flashpoint.cfg This files hold some of the customizable netcode settings for the server. By default these settings are not in the file. Please run this test and see if you are getting better performances with the dedicated server.. I know that I saw an huge decrease in lag in version 1.46 thru 1.49. Place the following lines in your flashpoint.cfg at the top: MaxMsgSend = 64; MaxSizeGuaranteed = 512; MaxSizeNonguaranteed = 64; Then save the file and start your server. Remeber you created the backup of your flashpoint.cfg file.. or just remove these lines to get it back to default. Please let me know if this improves your game play and reduces your lag. Thanks, Adammo

Mattijs, I'm curious about your "action radius" script and how you where able to limit the radius of actions so that others can mess with it. Can you post the script somewhere? Thanks, Capt Moore
