    Helmet Addons

    I figured out. Basically just to move my model in same location as Cap on A3 example model on x,y and z axis. Then do some fine tuning and it is done. Fit like glove. You could load your model on character example and fit to it and than copy paste your helmet in A3 headgear template and that's it more or less. Now we need more detail on Jawbone and helmet stripes issue I don't know it yet exactly why should and how to do it. Same goes for night vision thing and how to make place holder on helmet. So just need answer on those two details and we got detailed tutorial for headgear. Even noobs like me could understand what, why and how. This is 3 basic questions what any tutorial should answer.
  2. PR ArmA2 have something like that. Even have some tunnel system on FATA pre builded. I gues this will be ported to A3 as well.

Lots of community based islands have dependency on ArmA2 content (some buildings or other objects or vegetations) so most 3rd part islands don't expect before ArmA2 rearmed patch was release from BIS. Simply we can't go against licence. About new islands we will be limited on Mediterranean environment. My suggestion for mappers is to check Croatian coast. Croatia have more than 1200 islands some smaller some larger but there is dozens of suitable for porting to ArmA3. Check Lastovo for example. Or Maslenica part of the mainland what was real battlefield and front line in time of war in Croatia. For such islands you have all in A3. No need to create much new objects maybe some larger bridge in Maslenica. Just an idea and you have good coverage for details by google earth.

    Helmet Addons

    First of all I'm noob in 3D modeling. Last week I was playing with 3ds Max and O2. Didn't have problems with it model is perfect even I use some old textures from A2 and with minor tweaks it works. My model is protecting his lungs instead of head. What ever I do it is always placed inside of chest. when I move head for example watching shoes helmet get out on back and how I moving head helmet follow the movement. Description of my procedure: Made 3dmodel in 3dsmax, export it and import in O2 and put textures. select all and create Head allthis was copy and paste in A3 headgear template so have all this LODs create config and model files and made pbo I was playing with pin as well but no changes in game. What did I miss or done wrong?

  9. I was try some basic moding as well with A2CO and visually working good. There some problems in config to be completely usable in A3 engine because of differences. A2 have good models for A3 standards so could be used in as expansion. This will be beneficial to BIS as well. I don't know is it completely possible but if BIS made new configs for A2 content (except characters which will be needed to make complete changes because different concept) so basically with such adaptation mod whole A2 world with DLCs will be still alive. This should be done with dependency of having legal copy of A2 and even make possible to use original A2 installation from your computer. So if those who are new to A3 want to have such content must own or buy A2. Same should go to ToH as well. I'm not much of the flyboy and don't have ToH but if this will expand possibilities for my A3 I will be highly interested to buy such game. Right now I don't have reason at all except maybe give more support to small independent publisher like BIS. This way everyone will have interest here. Bis will get more financial to keep going and have more progress in future ArmA developing and community will get more content and less work on porting old mods from A2. I'm hopping this is good suggestion for both sides. Dwarden ask your friends in BIS what they thinking about such suggestion? ;)

  11. Great new feature. PiP should be sniper solution. Similar as in PR Bf2 when you raze sniper to aim zoom view inside optics no zoom outside optic.
  12. Exactly with Supporter expansion pack they could reduce financial damage BIS suffer because of this technical problems in first day of release. I think it is good suggestion.
  13. Some people want to buy Supporter edition but didn't buy it because technical problems. In the end they buy normal edition on steam. For such case you should get on market some sort of Supporter expansion pack what will create 25€ ArmA3 Alpha + 45€ Supporter expansion pack. This way you will eliminate any problem created by technical issues and everyone will be happy. No one loosing everyone is winning this way.
  14. ]NTRUDER calm down. It is not worth it your nerves because of this. There is always people like this but soon with time we will clear out community. Consider this as price we have to pay to increase ArmA community. On every such retard we will get 4 normal new members in ArmA world. In the end worth it. ;)
  15. I'm just first time reading this thread so didn't read all 56 pages but in ArmA world I'm playing only PvP. So I will say something in general about ArmA 3 and PvP. ArmA 3 will finally have ragdoll what is important step for PvP. And there is lot expectation from non ArmA community especially from people who will like to play more realistic games. In past they could moding games so you have several realism mods in Bf2 or CoD 4 and 5. Now BFBC2, BF3 or MoH and CoD 6 and above don't have possibility for moding. Lot of people are very interested in ArmA3 especially after they play Dayz. Problem is PvP is something what they expecting from ArmA3 and if ArmA3 will don't have nothing to offer this new blood they could leave ArmA3 community disappointed. I don't understand why people are afraid from something new. PR in ArmA2 shows exactly opposite. Lot of players who buy ArmA just because of PR today playing COOP as well so most benefit from PR have COOP players because PR bring new blood to ArmA so ArmA3 with good PvP could doubled numbers of ArmA players and biggest benefit from that will have COOP community. ArmA3 need some changes to be more friendly for PvP developing what doesn't means that will decrease realism in any aspect of gameplay PvP or COOP but will increase profit for BIS what in the end means more investment in developing and advancing with ArmA features and quality what in the end all of us who love this game will have benefit.
  16. OK guys I really love how this models look like but there is small problem which should be easy to fix. Just like A2 models don't handle backpacks and OA models do here we have something in between. I notice in gear I got backpack and on outside visually don't. I want it on my back for real. You just need to add place holder for backpacks on the back so when you take or change backpack this change will be visually shown on soldiers model not just in inventory. Maybe is small thing but will improve impression after all allot. Thanks for your work again and hope you understand it is not critic it is more friendly suggestion. ;)

    Foliage cover and drawing distance?

    I think this will not be that big problem if people keep PP effect on. Everyone complaining about realism of this feature and turn PP off and have same sharpens on 5m like on 5000m. I think ArmA3 should PP from minimum to maximum same as shadow but not off. This will fix half of the problem with this issue or make it more tolerable. I like PP effect but as I play mostly PvP I don't want to be in disadvantage so do what most players do turn off PP. This is more depending on us than on BIS they already have technical solution for that and in DX11 PP will look even better and more realistic. More important for me and connected with high grass is when you are prone you don't see nothing and only solution is to go crouch. We need something for just rase above grass to be able to see your target to shoot. It is more important move than this fancy but more or less useless laying on back shooting. You could just with shift+prone raise above and with prone again lay down in cover.

  20. I don't like steam and only reason I got it installed is I had to because Empire Total War. Otherwise I don't like them because they are more expensive than regular DVD release which I prefers and they are discriminating European citizens. Reason is 80% of the games have same price for example 30 but in NA it is 30$ but in EU is 30€ what is actually about 45$. Why? Cost of the game for them are the same no additional cost for explaining this issue. I don't like to be robed what this is actually even it is legal. I more like Sprocket this download works like DVD not messing with their software and never have problems with them and they fairly calculating different currencies and even refund local taxes because the game is exported in other country.

    Exactly if they selling CO than should sell CO not A2+OA. And there is no problem such content to work with CO only not on single A2 or OA. Problem is if they sell A2 and OA as stand alone games what they are in fact but they still advertising CO and sell it is package under CO as merged games what is not true. In normal world you like it or not is calling fraud. Problem is also they lock that content and you in mod community can't do it by your self because copy rights so they don't want to do it but not allowing us to do it by our self in same time.

    Suma there is several things whot is not true at all and with such claim you publicly question on our intelligence. 1st production will not cost much more because 95% of work you already have done. All 3D models are better then in OFP but are the same in A2 and OA so no additional job just few configs mostly copied from OA and some additional textures for IR. 2nd BIS selling CO and announcing CO not A2+OA what it is actually you even get after installation shortcut for CO and OA separate. So where is that CO which you selling. Such policy is not fair to us faithful costumers of BIS products for example I spend 60€ for A2 and OA because I buy it first day of release and what did I get in return faults promises for CO and now they even questioning my intelligence by lies about reasons why not CO. I already explain your bad decision from market and financial perspective you loosing money which will be more than good for covering all additional cost of such implementation. You will earn 5 or more times more money than cost are. It is your fault not our and to remind you BIS action not to do nothing about it but still advertising CO is against the law so not just that you show disrespect to your customers you are also breaking the law which protect customers from such behavior. Once you lose market it is much more harder to gain it back and much more expensive than is the cost of doing such addon. you already lost more money than cost is and will be in the future.

    The point is in this way ArmA2 CO is not existing at all it is just A2+OA but not CO like they proclaim. I am agree that should be part of OA upgrade so in that case you must have both A2 and OA. Commercially it is bad decision because A2 lost value very fast and drastically because if you don't have it from before there is no reason to buy it so A2 is today 10€ and no one want to buy it and some people don't want to buy OA because there is not benefit from CO except new maps. If BIS done it properly in the beginning A2 will keep value and will be at least 50% larger than it is now and selling will not be drooped as it is now. That was not just bad decision in developing it is also bad decision in business policy what is cost them segnificant amount of profit.

Question from the title is coming because except you can choosing in editor some weapons or vehicles from OA or A2 but in fact some of the major issues like for example backpack system or countermeasures for choppers and planes are working only on OA models but not on A2 models. Now we have situation where same chopper for example Mi-24 from some army in A2 don't have countermeasures and same model from OA have or Russian or Guerrilla from A2 can't ware backpack but in same time Takistanis can. This is make me on conclusion that CO is not CO at all because it is work more like A2+OA because weapons and possibilities are not equalized and if you want to use Chernarus map and models from A2 you are still limited on A2 features and there it no benefit from having both games. My suggestion is that BIS should work on some addon in OA which will be part of OA and will allow to couplet merging of A2 and OA models with same possibilities. That will be real CO so if we have countermeasures should be on every choppers or plane or backpack should be possible to care any soldier. Commercially this could only benefit to BIS because it will increase interest for having both A2 and OA because I see lot of people didn't buy OA or opposite but this will expending possibilities on both games equally so will give more reasons to have CO not just A2 or OA. BIS think about it I think those faitfull who have CO deserve it.
  25. About some features in general. Differences between ArmA engine and Bf2 are huge. Main reason why PR going to ArmA is the possibilities that engine is giving so some features what Bf2 don’t have. For example deviation is made in Bf2 to simulate ballistic and make more realistic shooting as only possible solution because of engine limitation. In ArmA we have real ballistic system combined with stamina creating completely different environment so there is no need for deviation. For better aiming without huge sway you have to think how you are moving. In Bf2 you have sprint fast walk and walk stamina is measured with meter and it is dropped and recharge and it is effecting only on movement. ArmA have more way of movement than Bf2 and it is also affecting completely different on player. So we have sprint run and walk in stand position and also in crunch position it is 3 basic movements multiplied with 2 different positions is 6 and you losing your stamina differently. Now we coming on different affecting than it is in Bf2. In Bf2 you are running as much you have stamina after you expend it you have to wait to recharge and run again. In ArmA it is work completely different you don’t have meter but you could hear your breading and use it as meter. Stamina here effecting on aiming that’s the reason of sway and as much stamina you lose more time to recovery and reduce sway. To reducing this effect you have to take care how you are combining your movement. You don’t loos stamina when you walking in stand position so when you are in travel run in stand position and from time to time to recover start walking. In this way you will reduce sway majorly and be ready to engage enemy soon after contact otherwise if you want come fast on some location you could ignore this movement advice but in that case be ware you have to recover your stamina before engage enemy if you want to be more efficient. Remember in crunch position you loosing more stamina than in stand position.
