Exactly, just do a random number from 0-9, and have random_number1 + random_number2 = verify And you must fill in what "random_number1 + random_number2 equals", and that value is called verify_compare. And then verify and verify_compare is (you guessed it) compared. Great idea, going to use it for my guestbook, wierd that I didn't think of it before

As you cannot possibly know how much effort Hlavac has put into upgrading the forums, since I first started whining to him about upgrading them (12 months ago or whatever it was), I think it's rather inappropriate and judgemental to blame the issue on "lack of trying" is it not? Maybe because we never get to know anything? Nah, I'll stop the whining, but let us know status?

Use phpmyadmin and dump all tables to SQL files? And also, if the registration is a seperate file, you can with ease add captcha (or a system alike). Although, if it's a document that do multiple tasks, you might just need to be a bit more careful. But anyways, why don't try to dump all tables and import them into a new database, maybe with some altering of the names. That should take a few weeks, and you can still keep this forums until everything is 100%. And if postcounts would be lost, change it. If accounts lost, re-register them (although, that's a bit worse then just loosing the postcount, but it's an easily fixed problem) I think you should give it a shot instead of blaming this and that for the lack of simply trying[/]. I mean, what's there to be lost? The worst thing that can happen is that the new tables wont be imported correctly, but that's just a matter of tweaking to get it working.

nvgogles use arma problem ???
wex-q replied to best marksman(x360)'s topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Nah, sounds like vanilla ArmA is working fine (or he justs says that he's using the nvgs when playing ArmA) fps mod gives him problem, but with the third mod, no problem. -
I belive that most accidents happen when there are failiure in communication amongst the crew (which is rarely) or someone doesn't have common sense. Accidents with mortars, arty, vehicles, weapons etc etc does not happen so often. Although, when it do, the consequences can be fatal

I know some are in the request summary, but I wish to elaborate my view on the subject. Infantry AI optimization - more close to human, such as human errors, hard to spot you at longer ranges, can loose you if you run around bushes and rocks etc Better infantry handling - F1-F11 chooses groups, F12 chooses next 11 groups as in ArmA, but the system in ArmA is kinda dodgy. My idea is to have Alpha-Zulu groups under your command, and you can for instance choose "Group Alpha, Bravo, Juliet and November, go to..." or perhaps just a single soldier "Kilo-5, take ammo from..." etc CQB - some cqb optimization Engine Allow for higher objectdensity (for large cityareas) Keep the high distanceview, great for bomber (all airplanes actually) Realistic ballistics - both for bullets and rockets. Rockets should be able to fly infinite distance but drop after a while since booster is out or the rocket is out of steering-range for the operator. Realistic grenades - with shatter randomly created, but also stopped by vehicles and walls (except 'weak' vehicles and thin walls) Improved vehicle simulation - so we can have proper civilian life with cars and so forth. Wheater simulation - rain gives slippery roads, sunny days tires the soldier faster *all the optimization needed * Editing Drag and drop object creating - no more createcam scripting needed. Built-in scripts - for example support-calling scripts, medevac etc etc. Also support to create your own scripts to be inserted in the editor That's what I think would be good for ArmA II

Looking good. Btw, you can use this link instead for faster imageloading, and we'll get rid of popups and that other crap. Looking forward too see more of your work

Who is the forum administrator (not the actual, the one set when installing the forums)? Was checking around in the URL of my control panel and all the sudden I got the message that I was trying to hack the forums. I'm guessing I didn't have the priveledge to even see it in my menu, so accessing it without the priveledge in my cookie will give the error message that I'm hacking. And an email was sent to the forum admin, but I haven't recived any email back or so. Just thinking it's good to know for all that has more serious questions about the forum itself. Ps. Not my fault IB has bad coding

Why the Google-ads? Not enough profit from ArmA or what? (Searched but I didn't find anything Google ad related)

Whoa, someone ate barbed wire for breakfast Just trying to get a debate on the neccessarity of a professional company to have Ads on their site. I belive it brings down the whole image of the company, feels very un-pro. Not an image BI would want to get new costumers of their games right? And you perhaps shall read the forum rules before posting insulting post to your fellow members

Right now it's 302 people online out of the 48397 members. So lets say that there is 1000-1500 people active at these forums. And IIRC, one click gives the owner of the ad approx $0.50. So if 1000 people click once on all the 4 ads once a day, BI will get 2 grand a day.

Meh that crap looks rendered CG anyways. Back on-topic: Think I'm waiting for ArmA II so I can save up for quad-xeon with 16gb ram so I can learn to edit islands Nah, joke aside, looks like a really nice game, hopefully it'll basiclly be a optimized ArmA so we can play 100vs100 battles in MP and not lag with monster-machines.

Just noticed these two fixes from MS: When a DirectX 10 application runs on a Windows Vista-based computer that has multiple graphics cards, the computer does not use the secondary graphics card Virtual address space usage in Windows game development Basicly, Vista doesn't use two or more GPUs, only one, when running a DX10 app. The first fix solves the problem. The second is to fix that Vista tries to handle mem-usage at the same time as the game is, which drains the virtual memory, making the game slow. Note:This can only be obtained by actually calling Microsoft support, but it will be included in SP1. Thought you'd know wex

Seems to be .info domains, tested microsoftrocks.info aswell as microsoftsucks.info but it was no difference hehe. Probably google for workarounds, but quoted from a blog: ".biz domains don’t get censored though…" Source Microsoft =

Hey all MSN users! I was just talking with my friend, and he linked me to armedassault.info, but his MSN wouldn't let him send it, but it got the message that the sent message couldn't be delivered to all recipents (which was me) We tested further, and OFP.info didn't work either... But the spookiest thing is that www.opensource.org works Anyone else gets this, and possibly knows why?

Well, it's seems like you haven't configured the function sf(), you might put it after you called the function or forgot to include a document where you have this function design? Anyways, the new non-xml-list looks very nice, definately worth to check out -
My bad, reading skills are on top today!

Same in XP. Also make sure you have set the small thingies on the pins where the connector is, sometimes you must change the setting to use the HDD as master/slave.
