  1. If you decide to do something, make it 1. Simple. We don't want to read 500 pages long Terms of Use and fill out 900 options about our social life, our haircolor, the name of our cats and so forth. 2. No feel of insecurity. Maybe, ID (which automaticly connects it to where you have bought it, if possible), First name, Last name and maybe your location. All info should be kept confidential and out of reach for anyone outside BI. 3. Efficient. Make it work, make it waterproof. A system that one day fails wouldn't be too fun for all the players. So, summarize: Just make it easy, working and usefull. Like Ikea. Not beautiful, but it works. (I voted yes)

Cleared out the cahce, still white. Right click -> Show background = 404 - Not Found The requested URL /pics/forums/back.gif was not found on this server. My friend got white both before and after clearing the cache. And some images (I noticed the "Moved Topic") and also the table wich holds the posting-panel has a black border aroung it. Looks a bit off, not that it really bothers. Probably some random html-problem though and no real problem. Just something to get stuck on EDIT: Checked if I didn't have access to bistudio.com, but I did. Although, the first folder of the site /pics/ is seeminly non-existant aswell. Link

My excuse, I'm tired and bored, didn't mean to waste your valuable time And DeadMeatX2, yeah, good point! I'm such a n00b The thread I was refering to is the War against terror-thread, which has "Al Qaeda, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Ikea." as subtitle. Sorry if it was a waste of time, but actually, I am wondering why Ikea ever was put there? Just as a joke I presume, and maybe only RalphWiggum, the threadstarter can answer that

Maybe you should look a bit harder. And I wasn't spamming, so no need for insult. And, I've had these boxes for 10 months now, to lazy too ask the moderators to take them away. Can't even remember who gave me them Well, well, I can give you a hint, the answer is just a few threads below the Ask a mod-thread, ok?

Why are you (seemingly) the only organisation that declares Ikea as a terrorist-organization?

Airsoft & Paintball and those in between.

Here, same weapon for more then half the price: link Shipping is like 20 pounds though Edit: Cyma is a good brand (atleast their AK-models), not sure about the shop you linked from. Seems expensive. Order from Hong Kong (RSOV, WGC, GunnerAirsoft and so on) and order more then just the weapon, maybe extra mags, extra stuff and so on, and you'll the shipping fee will not be so expensive when splitted out on all stuff you've ordered, otherwise, some weapons cost 15 pounds but have 25 pounds shipping Edit2: Airsoft warrior seems heft overpriced, I think you can find better shops in UK. But until october 1st, order from Hong Kong!

Airsoft & Paintball and those in between.

The cheapest you can buy are China-made. A bit lower quality then Japanese, Taiwanese, Hong Kong and so forth, but alot cheaper. Although, the top Chinese brand, Jing Gong is often compared to the Japanese brand Tokyo Mauri (and to add, JG are straight down copies of TMs, just that they are made in China instead of Japan). A Tokyo Mauri costs about 250 USD, while a Jing Gong costs 80 dollars, which is an OK price for a first gun. If you decide to buy a Chinese airsoft be sure that you don't buy the crappy brands. Some recommended China-brands: Jing Gong, Dboys, Cyma and ACM. Some Google-searches should lead to forumtopics and reviews about the weapon you are looking at. The most common P90 is the Tokyo Mauri P90 (link), but RSOV.com got a chinese copy of it here, but I am not sure about the quality of Wellfire brand. Although, the price difference is whopping, the chinese one being 5 times cheaper. But the Tokyo Mauri model should be available to purchase at local (UK for you then) dealers. Since I don't live in the UK, I have no idea where you can play, but I think Google can help you find something Regards, wex

Ask the shop to demount the gun, and send it in another box, it will get through customs without probs afaik.

    Resting your weapon

Yeah, that would be even better, so you like lean a weapons bipod on the ground when sniping and so, and the unsteady-ness from breathing is none!

    Resting your weapon

AFAIK, Day Of Defeat has such feature for the MGs, when you get to a low wall or a window, you get the option to mount it, meaning the recoil is less to none. Would be a cool feature for ArmA 2

Yeah, I was kinda' suprised when I saw the prices between E6750 and QX6850, where the DualCore lands at approx 200 euro, and the QuadCore lands at a whooping approx 1000 euro. 5 times more expensive for almost no better performance in everyday use? Nah.. Maybe if you really need it for optimized, or got alot of money. But the Q6600 is a good buy, only a bit over the E6600, and as you said more fututreproof!

The Quad Core gets about the same performance in games, probably since the games aren't optimized, but when going for optimized software, the difference between Quad and Dual is that the Quad does it twice as fast. So, go Quad if you're doing alot of movie-editing, picture-editing, 3D, animation and so forth, where you use optimized hardware, but for gaming, you can save half the money on buying the Dual Core. Comparing E6750 with QX6850 (charts on this page and forward) Two images to summarize:

    Editor suggestions

3 suggestions belonging to eachother Ingame scripteditor Scripting easy scriptsat the fly in the game, with selections like "Unit: s1,s2" or maybe "Global (all units who activates the scripts)". Scriptlibrary A folder, called scripts or alike in your game-folder, where you can add in all scripts, so it can be chosen in a dropdownlist in a ingame scripteditor. Also the creation of subfolders should be able, so you can have a folder for called "test_scripts", one called "my_new_campaign". Of course, scripts can also be implemented in the missions own folder, so missions can be made public without any hassle. Variable explanation of scripts Like DreamWeaver (WYSIWYG editor for websites), when coding you get a few suggestions when you write a function (ie, which variables should be placed in the script). For example, you write: "this exec " " then it plops up a square above saying "script.sqs" but also have a dropdownlist of the installed scripts in your scriptlibrary, and when you choose one, it automaticlly makes the end of the code, which makes it look like this: "this exec "test_scripts/myscript.sqs" " The benefits of these three are faster scripting, easier scripting for those who are not to good at scripting, and an easier interface making your job more efficient.

Soon we can have fibers that run like 50gbps for almost any distance without loosing any speed! Don't belive me? Here you go! And when this system is built out all over the world, z0mfg, we're gonna' fly!

    ArmA and Mac?

Why Mac at the first place? You really need it? I mean, PC is cheaper when compared how much it costs to buy the same hardware, Mac just takes some cash for the design and the Apple-logo on the back. Otherwise, you could have a Mac and use BootCamp with WinXP or WinVista, which would let you run a Windows OS whenever you wish to play ArmA. But I don't think that ArmA runs with OS X, barely any game does (except WoW, but that's not a game, it's more like an addictive drug )

I belive that is upto the moderators common sense when regarding the thread. If you got a thread locked, you could always just PM a mod and get it unlocked if you think it should be contributing (but make sure you have bloody good arguments! ).

If ArmA runs, I think you should wait for ArmA2 to come. That's what I'll be doing. Otherwise, Core 2 Duo all the way, but that would need to upgrade motherboard, and most modern MBs doesn't support newer CPUs and still have AGP. So a fine balance is hard to find. Otherwise, save the money, buy a comp for ArmA2 when it arrives and you can give the other comp to someone in the family?

    ArmA2 Discount

ULTIMATE simulation i don't understand why a lot of people complain about the fact, that they loose money. i have bought Arma, i sold Arma; yeah, i lost some euros, but .... BIS is only a commercial company, this is not a sect (no brains washing: you must to buy Arma, you must buy Arma, you must buy Arma.....) maybe i would buy again Arma+queen's gambit I don't see why they do as Carlsberg: "ArmA: Armed Assault - Probably the ultimate simulation"

Ask a moderator about the forum and the rules

Lets say you have a bot that register on this forum to spam. You want to fool alot of people, so this bot registers like 500 times. If the one administrating the bot realises he must answer 1+2, 5+3 and so forth 500 times, he might go somehwere else. I read somewhere that people doing the registrationprogress for spambots is about 0.01% of all spambots that exists, ie, making simple equations such as 1+3 and alike would take away 99.9% of spambots. Although, not 100% sure of that number, but it's probably somewhere in the range. But as above stated, a combination of all these would make a near-to-watertight seal of the forum, perhaps a captcha, then 3+4, then "In what country lies London?" or something. Even if it would require some more coding, I guess it would make a forum 99.99999999999% spamfree. But keep in mind, the amount of spambots that the BI Forums has had must be under 100, which isn't that much. My bud had a forum, he got like 200 spambots registering each day. (Though, after installing Captcha it was brought down to less then 1 per day) My points of view
